Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Wheeled the Nebraska National Forest area today. Hit the trails at 7am and just got back to camp at 4pm. 9 hours of absolute fun!

I’ll post more in a trip thread I’ll make tomorrow after I get back home.

I didn’t know Nebraska had that many trees.

You and me both! 🤣

There was a one mile stretch of trees that actually reminded me of Washington State Forest trails, sorta, maybe..

Would you mind posting pics of this when you get a chance? I’m still on the fence about what lights to use for ditch lights and the spreader lights look like they could be a good option. TIA!

Okay... got a few pics for you.... unfortunately everything near home had lots of urban ambient light.... so best I could do on the fly...

First is low beams only so you can get an idea how much ambient there is... (and there is a lot.)
low beams only.jpg

Next is low beams and rock lights
rock and low beam.jpg

then I turned on the zone lights with the rocks and low beams
rock zone and low beams.jpg

Okay so now I added the black Oak spreaders that I am using as ditch lights.
rock zone spreader-ditch.jpg

Then for fun I turned on the KC combo spot and floods.

Blinding front shot

Oh... but I forgot to turn on the fog lights too.

I think the zone lights help but those spreader/ditch lights make it seem like they are not even there....

Never did turn on the high beams...

gratuitous undershot....

Thanks for the pics, @Unicorn. Those spreaders used as ditch lights do seem to provide a lot of illumination and now it’s an option I’m considering.

I am pretty happy with them. I have them on those BAM mounts so I can swivel them around. I currently have these pointed at about 30 degrees left and right of straight ahead. I am actually considering getting another pair for the back. They do cover a pretty large area without any "hot spots".

Already noticing a difference, just wish the car wouldn’t adjust the temps according to what it is outside. I want summertime 72, not fall 60

Yup, yup.. Also, if you enjoy coffee (Life Support Juice), look into an AeroPress if you don't already have one. 👍

I was wondering if that is what I saw in the photo. Now that I have the Moth I need to get one. I have been using the Jetboil french press but it's a pia to clean.

Very cool, but would cost me $60k since I don’t have a Badlands

I’ve decided to use DV-8 a-pillar drop mounts. What I haven’t been able to make a decision on is what lights to use.

Are you thinking of under the bumper for the rear install or does your bumper have install points so the lights aren’t “hanging” under the bumper? Asking because I’ve seen at least one instance where an obstacle almost destroyed a pair of lights installed under the rear bumper.

It makes a stellar cup of joe.

They are only like $40: https://aeropress.com/products/aeropress-coffee-maker

Or if you feel like blowing some cash, $150 to be exact, you can pre-order their Premium model that is glass and metal: https://aeropress.com/products/aeropress-coffee-maker-premium

The regular one does me just fine for $40 smack-a-roos..
