Sorry for the confusion. I probably asked it in a weird way but the answer was you have to drop as many as you have that apply. So if you have Big Bend Sasquatch MIC top, you have to drop Sas and MIC bc Big Bend doesnt have lux. If you have badlands LUX non-sas soft top, you have to drop LUX. The confusion probably came from me asking if you have all 3, do you only have to drop 1 to get the credit or all 3, the answer was all 3.I appreciate the BN team setting this up with Matt and clarifying some stuff. I do feel some of the same questions were asked multiple times though & some confusion on the constrained items, especially the part when Jordan asked if all 3 had to be dropped (4door) or 2 items (2 door) to get the $2500. I took away from Matt that if you had a package with only 1 or 2 constrained items on your build that you could drop the 1 item or 2 items and still qualify but Jordan seemed to think it had to be all 3 items with 4 door and 2 items with 2 door. It doesn’t pertain to me but trying to help people out who have a build with only 1 constrained item of the 3.

Summed it up perfectly.Biggest thing is that they write in the language, by the way, “we can change anything at anytime and there is nothing you can do but get your $100 back”. “Oh and you can’t sue us”. what a program they have there. Now I am curious as the people who ordered but it wasn’t with a reservation. What might their recourse be? I feel like the people who were part of the early reservations will be screwed no matter what. No one read what the reservation agreement was before they clicked yes.
Ford made the changes they deemed necessary, very early on, before the reservations were converted to an actual order. I think the notice went out at the end of December 2020. I took a snapshot of the change when I finally converted my order in March of 2021 and tucked the information away. And several times over the the last two years I have talked about all these things. Like no one reading the reservation information.
The fact that allocations are not something new to Ford or any other dealership, and is, will and always will be a factor in getting any vehicle from any dealership. That before Ford converted one reservation to an order, there were serious issues with commodities, parts constraints, quality control, and shipping. These issues are worldwide and continue to this day. Due to these issues Ford dropped features very early on and based on what people originally reserved, gave certain reservation holders Ford Pass points. Then QC issues and constrained parts issues became a big issue. Manufacturers could not make enough of the parts and Ford advised people that, “if you want it sooner” take off certain items to get yours sooner. And many did. Others like me chose to wait.
Actual production of MY21 Bronco’s didn’t even ramp up until June of 2021. There was a very limited run of Bronco’s and we then got the original Price Protection. This guaranteed the MSRP price for those of us being pushed to MY22 and beyond. Three things on this point. 1) this did not guarantee your purchase price, just MSRP. So you had to negotiate ahead of time with your dealership. This fact was in play since the start. 2) Ford told us that the price protection was good through MY23. 3) This was for reservations or orders placed before March 19th 2021. Then there was MY22.5 PP and then MY23 private offers. Good through MY23. They told us PP would be ending and it is. I wish I could find my posts from two years ago where I put all the information or that I had kept all of the screen shots or emails with all of the information. But I figured I would no longer needed them.
My biggest gripe with this whole thing is that certain dealerships gave great below MSRP pricing and as a result took hundreds, if not well over a thousand reservations and orders. The dealerships, knowing the allocation model that Ford uses, knew they would never get that many orders and took them anyways. And Ford knew they were doing it and did nothing about it. Even if there were no parts constraint issues and everything was perfect, I doubt they would get through all of the number of orders in a year because they never thought they would get this response for the Bronco. This is, and has been the perfect storm of everything going wrong.

Can you give an idea when? Im happy to preorder a part, but I would prefer a little color on them. Will we be able to specify a color before these are produced, or will that be a separate order drop down?Yes!

Thx JP for clarifying & I realize you guys were getting bombarded with questions from the form in such a small time frame. Thanks again BN team for the support and helping us keep our sanity.Sorry for the confusion. I probably asked it in a weird way but the answer was you have to drop as many as you have that apply. You and thousands more 🤣. ( me two)I hope Ford reads these posts. I bought my first new 79 F150 at 16 years old from money made working on the farm. Since then I have bought 15 new Fords. Due to Ford having no loyalty to their customers I am now looking at other brands. Toyota makes fine products as far as 4wd vehicles goes but I always wanted a Ford Bronco...... so I waited and waited until Ford decided to start making them again. I have driven my stepdaughter's Dodge Diesel 3/4 ton and it's very nice and drives as well as my Super Duty- just not as powerful. So when it comes time to purchase a new vehicle I will now take a hard look at these brands-

Great Live chat BN team, I watched it last night with the wife (she is Bronco crazy) I found it very interesting that you can cancel your order and buy New off the lot of another dealership and still get the $2500.00. If I was at a crummy dealership that I knew was going to charge me an ADM I would cancel and buy a Ranger or F150 from another Dealership Might as well take advantage of the $ instead of loosing everything.
The one thing I am sure was asked but I missed it - if you cancel your order and buy off the lot and the Dealership is charging an ADM do they waive the ADM (not Likely) or do they discount the ADM by $2500 or is the $2500 taken off the MSRP.

Did you keep your order also? I don’t believe it applies to a used one. Even though you probably paid at least original MSRP if not an ADM on top of that.Just be aware that it doesn't count toward a 2021. Because why wouldn't they find one more way to screw us?

There are multiple reasons they can't give us the Why, the very least of which is that they risk the relationships with sub-contractors that may be having issues.Outstanding job last night and much appreciated--will be nice to get the glitchy picture smoothed out--one of the things that came to mind that may help everyone involved, including mother Ford, is to try and explain the Why. We can understand the What--I think it would be valuable to try and condense and simplify (I know, it ain't easy) the "pipeline of production" and how it generally works. Then a high level summary of how the "players" who actually manufacture the pieces for assembly are involved and WHY their respective products are forcing a "constraint" for production. The "Tail" of production--or last tactical mile--is the Delivery sequence. It would be nice to have a general understanding of How that works and Why there is such difficulty in moving completed units from point A to point B. If we can somewhat understand Why the process is suffering from unanticipated intrusions, there may be more empathy for the overall manufacturer (Ford) and willingness to change by its customers (Us!).

Well said.I have a Bronco in my garage, all I can say to folks on the fence about what to do in this crazy situation, decide if you can accept lesser Bronco from the factory.. and build on it, make it your own, personalize it.. and be true to yourself... ARE YOU EVER REALLY GONNA DO THE RUBICON TRAIL, OR HELLS REVENGE, OR THE SAND DUNES ACROSS THE COUNTRY?? Or can you get by with a very well built advanced 4x4 system, or the standard. For light offroading or snowy inclement weather... my WANTS definitely SUPERCEDES any of my needs for a WIDLTRAK. the high package is a very desirable package in several of the models. I was at this crossroads 2 years ago with the beginning of the hardtop issues .. I switched from 2 door to 4 door soft top. 2.7 to a 2.3, sas to non sas Black Diamond...I HAVE ZERO COMPLAINTS on the soft top.. or non sas... I think if you give one a a try and slap some 35s on it. You'll love it... If your a true offroader, I imagine you already have a Jeep Jeep or a Yota in the stable.. I think many NOT ALL, can love what ever version they get... The Bronco really is a great vehicle. But dont pass up a chance to get a 23.... worse case... it comes in... you say no... and another guy walks in behind you and loves it, and buys it.... Use ford's Price Protection and there 2500, try it for for a few months.. if not.. you can still sell at msrp.. which means you could come out even, after taxes.
Now what was it I came in here for?? 🤔
Oh yeah, dont forget the sooner you change orders, the sooner you are in the que to get a build date, now that many will be changing. GOOD LUCK!! If u have any questions on non sas and softtop Black Diamond or Bronco in general, please ask myself or the many others who have More experience with them, than myself!!

Thank Laura! A wealth of knowledge as always. I was unaware of the Rally Tops option, significantly cheaper too. Hoping these companies start making 2 door options should we hardtop owners experience issues and get left out in the cold.We will ask; unfortunately, they used to list it as a thing possibly for 2023, but they wiped that from the FAQs last year. I doubt it will be coming this year. If you're open to aftermarket, I posted the following over on the article.
I'm aware of three companies manufacturing hard tops:
- Advanced Fiberglass (one piece and modular, multiple finishes, approx. 6-7k. No deliveries yet)
- Anderson Composites (modular, multiple finishes, approx. 6-10k. Unsure of deliveries, but lead time is up to 20 weeks)
- Rally Tops (modular, multiple finishes, approx. 4k. Unsure of deliveries yet).

The Ford release specifically says that's up to the customer, but the more restrained items retained the less the likelihood you'd get built. It even spells out that whether you drop 1, 2 or 3 items the total is $2500 to make it clear that you don't have to drop all 3 but if you opted to drop all 3 you would not get a larger stipen.I appreciate the BN team setting this up with Matt and clarifying some stuff. The Why is the same for corporations as it is for our country. When you outsource the shit out of everything and are no longer self reliant on anything you have no control over anything and when the slightest imbalance or hiccup in the system happens it all goes to heck. None of these companies nor our country has invested in trades nor skills so there are no infrastructures for pivoting. It's the cooperate and economical version of muscle atrophy. But we all get participation ribbons.Outstanding job last night and much appreciated--will be nice to get the glitchy picture smoothed out--one of the things that came to mind that may help everyone involved, including mother Ford, is to try and explain the Why.
