None of the new stuff will be price protected. If we are lucky only the portion that is the new stuff will be the new updated pricing. Go back and read the email put out by Ford last year regarding the price protection. “Similarly equipped vehicles” is the phrase that pays. It could mean no changes in build equals no increase in price. Or it could be that the parts that stayed the same have no increase and the other items are whatever the new price is. Or it could mean that if you change it enough, none of it is protected. Vague and ambiguous.
By this note, you can change a lot and still be price protected.

I have an Apr 21 reservation, ordered Sep 21, got forced into a MY 22 which was placed 15 Oct 21.....I got one of the emails, which I appreciate getting a communication from Ford. My only sins are 2Dr and Lux.....However, what I really want to know is where stand in the build date lottery....My dealer won't supply ANY information about ALLOCATIONS that the dealer has (big dealer in Texas so I assume it is quite a few) but more importantly where I stand in the LOCAL pecking order driven by said allocations....

And my real question is whether or not I will be waiting until having to convert to MY23......none of this communication gives me any hope or pause.....
Here is my honest answer!
There are a lot of Bronco Reservation/Order holders who have ordered through small Dealerships and large Dealerships, and I have seen very few get a straight answer if any answer on Allocations. I have asked my Dealership multiple times where I stand in this sea of confusion on allotments, and I never get a straight answer. I have come to the conclusion that if they are not giving you the information that you have requested, then my guess is the line that any of us are standing in must be very long, long enough where the Dealership will not tell you because they don't want you to cancel your order. (Only my observation) Every person that seems to know where they stand in line, and post it on many threads, seems to say that their Dealer said you should be getting close.
To answer your question, there is nobody out there that can answer that question honestly! because there are so many hurdles to jump over that nobody really knows. MAP can't even answer that. The list is long why some get picked and some don't.
Orders.
Reservations Timestamps.
Dealership Order Numbers.
Dealerships Allotments.
Part Constraints.
Trim Levels.
MAP Pick Orders.
Chip shortages
Future problems.
Endless reasons why no one will know the answer.

Edited: I didn't mean to veer off the Threads direction, just wanted to answer someone's question to the best of my ability. It is so easy to lose focus on the posted Thread.

The bottom line is that dealerships don’t know exactly how many allocations they are gonna get because it isn’t a set number. It changes. My dealership knows that I won’t cancel my order and they are pretty transparent. The allocations change For them. They may have five or six a month and they end up with three or eight. It is always in flux. My sales manager will let me sit down and BS with her in her office and she pulls it up on the computer and I can look at it with her. I have seen her number of reservations drop due to orders getting picked up and some dropping out. A few have deferred their orders now till MY23 looking for new options, colors and trim packages. I am right at number 20. The week after the hold They had seven previewed for build and got none pulled.last I saw they have 27 allocations. Not stock but allocations for customers. So who knows. She can’t give me solid numbers because she doesn’t have solid numbers. I am just curious as to the number of reservations that are just getting tired of waiting, and cancel? Anyone else seeing that at their dealership?

Exactly our points working together, there are no clear answers to how long any of us will be waiting, that's why I find it so mind blowing that Dealerships that take in new orders, let that customer know it will be (Example) around 6 to 10 Months before you will have it delivered. There is no way that any Dealership knows how long it could be, they would just be giving the best sounding case scenario to keep the customer "hanging in there" to keep them satisfied.
Sometimes I think the truth is the better option to take, when telling someone how long they could be waiting at this point. The easier answer is "no one knows, it could be 8 months to a few years."
Maybe not a year ago, but now the better answer for me if I was ordering now, would be "it could be a while, no one really knows" at least I wouldn't have any expectations like I do now.

I'm tired and I'm getting wound up. ;)

This is consistent with a lot of information that I've heard from Ford reps, and from what others have said as well. The 2.0 MIC tops are quite good, and are being produced in huge quantities without issue. Ford rep last told me (I know, I know, but this was not a dealer, this was a FoMoCo marketing rep with quite a bit of intel internally) that many of the parts that are labeled as constrained should be available in significantly larger quantities come mid-March, and to not make any changes to orders at all. Chips ares still a 50/50, but there is a lot of confidence in getting those in larger quantities as well.
Thanks for at least referencing a valid source of your information (FoMoCo rep). I am with you, I would not make any changes to the equipment as Ford knows what they need to do to get things going, and with Ford dropping PPF...things in the factory will pick-up. COVID shut downs and supply chain issues hurt the roll-out of these vehicles worse than anyone could have predicted and it takes a while for production lines to catch up due to lack of manufacturing agility and Just-in-Time inventories. I have faith Ford will get this worked out. Sometimes luck and timing are everything.

Im okay with the HOSS 3.0 being in its own category (it wasnt an available option, but a new thing). What Im not okay with is the rest of the truck going up $2500 because I elected to put on the 3.0. My WT order has remained unchanged since I put in the reservation (with the exception of the Mod-top). Hope the video makes all that clear (or at least clearer).

Ford would do us dirty if the price protection would not in place if we just added and option that was not available in the past. We have been very patient.

Especially us WT Orders. It also not fair to let Ford pick order holders for the Raptor and Everglades.

In which case, I'll stick with the HOSS 2.0. Honestly, its probably more than enough for what I want to do.

Like my dealership, like my salesman....very, very old dealership with I believe sway in the business. Do not have that kind of relationship with the sales manager. It would be awesome just to know if my vehicle has been "viewed" for build even if not selected....means that it must be getting closer to some degree....

I do believe that between Ford and the dealership (especially during this "pause") they should be able to give us a window of 60 days or so that reservation holders can expect to see an in production message.....I know....just "drink" and shut up and be patient....

I agree also but waiting so long. I think we should get something better than a calendar or Hammock. They should make it standard for order holders that don't have a build date or VIN.

Im willing to bet it will be standard in '23- Ford originally said there was a special suspension set up on WT at the launch, but it didn't materialize. And Ford can send a nice Single-malt my way if they really want me to feel better about it. They already have my address.

Ford should really update the "Ice Mountain" situation and the plan. The customers are getting very frustrated and some even looking for alternative vehicles.
There is a opportunity to improve the communications to the client base.

@Jviz4u They have, and no one is going anywhere (buying an alternative vehicle). This thread literally links to the article, "vehicles are being updated and shipped daily. The goal is to have all of these updated within the next 90 days, pending chip availability." That's the update.

Was told by my dealer that if I don’t have a VIN by next week then I will be pushed to 2023 model year. Reserved 8.8.2020. Converted 2.22.21 for 2021 model. 2022 model update submitted on 10.21.2021. I thought since my order was in that I’d still be up for 2022 model year but dealer is making it sound like that is NOT the case.
