Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Removed the thin factory fender emblems and installed the new metal ones. They are the exact same size and seem to be very good quality. They give a more premium look to the bronco and are what should have came from the factory IMO.

Amen, brother! They look amazing. I agree, the factory “fridge magnets” left much to be desired. BIG improvement. 😎

I’ve got a bull bar on my Bronco, as you know so I’m biased towards having one, but I enjoy playing Devil’s Advocate. 😎

That was a super fun day of 4 wheelin'. Except for when you got the flat..

It was only flat on the bottom, though.

Today? I'll be getting estimates for a new windshield..

Took a rock hit yesterday that caused a large ding and a 10" crack line down on the driver side.. SMH.. To make matter worse, my insurance uses comp for windshield replacement. My deductible is $500 so I probably won't bother with a claim.

Safelite quoted $375 for a windshield.. Cool, right? Nah.. They say they have to reprogram the windshield and that's another $495 charge for it.. Told em I don't need that and they said it's required. What, what? You have to charge me an additional $495 to do nothing? Yeah, hard PASS!

Ummm, I do not have any of that ADAS stuff in my Bronco so why does the windshield need to be programmed?
Yeah, I had to replace mine recently. $1200 because of calibration ect. The glass was only $500 of that. Fortunately I was able to prove that contractors doing work outside broke it while I was at work so they reimbursed me. $1200 was actually the cheapest quote I got. No safelite here but you are the second person this week I've heard say that they are no Bueno.

And it's done.. Winch swaparoo complete... What a massive PIA that was..

I think I am going to leave my Safari bar off, for now... The Zeon takes up more room then the RC did and with the Safari bar on, the entire front end looks kinda cluttered..

Safari bar on or off? Safari bar on is a few posts up.

I'm partial to the bar particularly when it does not block the BRONCO grille script. But individualising the Bronco how you see fit is what makes them so great. What prompted the change in winches?

AND they have the dumbest commercials and lousiest jingle in marketing history.

Also, I think Ford itself changed the configuration of the safari bar after its initial introduction because they were getting pushback on how it obscured the model name. Mine follows the “B” and goes before the second “O” in BRONCO, which is fine by me.

The price, after discount, on the Ford Performance Zeon Kit... I can sell my RC winch and the FP winch mount with bracketry and get about half of that price back.

I didn't need to swap, and I tried to talk myself out of it, but that price was just to good to pass on. About a year ago or so, that FP Warn kit sold for $3,500.. I got it for $875 after the discount and using a little bit of points..

Glad you got it replaced without dropping the cash.. Yeah, Safelite is a joke.

She legit, and with a straight face, told me that a rear backup camera was the reason that it needs to be programmed due to Federal law.. 😂

I asked about signing a waiver for the programming and she said they could not do that either because it's also against Federal law.. 😂

I seriously wonder how many people they successfully run this scam on...

The only ADAS I have is front collision and that can just be turned off in the Broncos setting menu.. Like I said, I'd get it and understand if I had lane keeping, adaptive cruise etc, but I don't..

On top of all that, Safelite wanted $495 for programming where the other place only charges $150 and will let me sign a waiver to avoid that service..

Safelite is full of crap. I had to get my wife’s Escape glass fixed. Same lux package. Cost nothing, the calibration set itself. They took it for a ten minute drive and that was it.

VERY nice-looking Bronco; I suppose I could do that after Phoenix's six-month summer is over.

Getting closer to the 8/9 departure date. Nag is at the dealership and progress is being made, but still waiting for that one part to arrive. I really just want it to get done.1753402754496.jpeg

I was struggling to find a torque wrench for Sasquatch wheels and then came across this angled wrench at harbor freight. I still used a 3 Inch deep socket to clear the tires and I had all lugs torqued in about 10 mins. Good price at $50

Besides drive it to haul my daughter, myself and our road bikes to the capital bike trail, I installed the Broncbuster Braces on the tie rods. Little disappointed the package didn’t include a broncbuster sticker I could place on my rear side window. But these braces are No Joke Solid!!!!!

I’ve got them on my rig, too. Gives me some peace of mind.

I am really not trying to be a Debbie downer but IMO, the Bronco tie rods were designed to fail before damaging the steering rack..

By putting a heavy duty brace on, or by just replacing the stock tie rods with heavy duty tie rods, all you are now doing is transferring the weak / failure spot to the next item in line -----> which is the steering rack.

The end cap on the Bronco steering rack is thin, very thin, like ridiculously thin! (see photo for comparison)

Stock end cap left -- 74Weld end cap right

3.JPG

If you are going to run those, I'd seriously look into beefing up the steering rack with something like a 74Weld Stage 1 rack upgrade.

I did the 74Weld stage 1 upgrade and an Icon HD tie rod upgrade. You can see more here:

https://thebronconation.com/accesso...-1-icon-xd-forged-tie-rods-installed-t.20785/

I personally would only use a tie rod brace for emergency, limp off the trail type of repair. A better, and cheaper, option would just be to carry a Bronco inner tie rod since that is what generally fails..

If you are happy with them then ignore my Debbie downer comments but something for others to consider..

Valid argument, sir. If mine does fail, I’ll get Matt’s Off-road Recovery to bail me out, get a free tee shirt, and then upgrade my steering rack. 😝
