Yeah, even with all of their education, scientists don't agree on everything, it's true. Which makes it especially funny to think that you had it all figured out in high school.

I'll say for me it was college (mid 1980's). As a kid of the 1970's when the environmental movement really came on strong, we were constantly bombarded with the anthropogenic-driven death of the planet. In just 20 years time food shortages were going to be rampant (due to global cooling and over-population), gasoline was to be nearly non-existent as oil reserves were going to be well-depleted by the late 1990's. The ozone was going to be gone from fluorocarbons and we all were going to need SF-60 to even live indoors (okay some hyperbole). My childhood experiences led me to be a ardent student of geology, anthropology, paleontology, and planetary science. All studied out of books written by un-biased professor-scientists before the internet was a thing.

In reality, people are more over-weight than ever, gasoline still costs just over a dollar when I started driving ($3.65 in constant 2024 dollars), and I can walk outside without flaming to a crisp. Oh, yeah, the globe is warming at an ever-increasing rate that no models even predicted just a decade ago. EV or bust!

According to Greta and Al we are already dead and have been for years so us having this convo either puts us in an episode of the twilight zone or they foamed at the mouth and lied to make some cold hard cash... And they are still at it today so I guess it must pay them well..

They don't want you to use a gas stove and say cow farts are going to end the world. They then board their private jets and fly around the world to caution us about cow farts.

I am not very bright (ask my ex-wife, she will confirm) but I am thinking that it's gonna take an awful lot, and I mean an awful lot, of cow farts to equal just one of their private jet flights....

I am not a cow fart expert so maybe cow farts are more toxic and harmful than I think.. 💩

I think part of the problem right now is that Jeep is heavily discounting Wranglers. One of the the dealers near me has 107 Wranglers on their lot and in their overflow lot. Most of them are being heavily discounted at around $15,000 off..

Sale? Yes. Profit? No. Take a loss on every sale to move them off the lot? Yes.

I'm not a bean counter so I can only guess that the goal of any bizz would be to not lose money on each and every sale...

I wouldn't worry about it. After all ford canceled sedans because they were only selling 300k when the decision was made. (I don't count the last 2 years of sales because the announcement was made to cancel them, that drupped interest).

They shouldnt have dropped the base model, nor done a price increase . Both were a result to offset the $4b loss on EV’s, and Wooley here articulates it quite well and passionately

That was one of Ferds dumbest moves. They cite low sales of base models but there is a reason for it, the dealers in this area would not take orders for the lower trims.Its the reason mine wasn't ordered.

Our priority should be energy independence, we have the oil and coal to do it.Fission is not an option we can clean carbon out of emissions, we can not clean radiation with a half life of 150 years....

Far more harmful then ICE engines which just proves we need to have our cars and keep eating beef. The vegetarians are killing the planet.
