And in bracket racing i can take a bone stock 1992 Ford Ranger 2.3 4cyl with and automatic with 175k miles on the odometer by being consistent, and beat a $100k built racecar.... can I not?

Or am I 100% wrong?
At the main local dragstrip if you have a manual they only let you do manual class or bracket.

ARE WE STILL ARGUING MANUAL vs AUTOMATIC? 🤦‍♂
😂🤣

Imagine a modern day production car with an AUTOMATIC.... when everything else is even.... Being able to shift faster than a human with a foot clutch and a manual shift lever....

Technically I'm arguing Manual AND Automatic, depending on application. But semantics. Lol.

I've had both the seven speed manual, and now the auto in the Bronco. The manual was more fun to drive daily, but I'm okay with my auto. Nothing boring about either, except the auto with the 2.7 can get a bit sideways with that extra bit of tq/hp

Anything can get sideways if you're driving it right. Lol

You are correct I've actually done this in a bone stock 2000 Ranger with the 4.0 and a bone stock 87 Crown Victoria. 👑 beat alot of faster vehicles, but bracket racing gets boring 😴 it's like playing golf in a vehicle.

Both have their application, drive what you want but its the goof balls that want to see the manual option taken away are the ones that need a life.

Never said to make an antique.Your reading comprehension leaves much to be desired.

A 2 door manual transmission NA engine.Rubber floor mat vinyl interior, without all the non offroad frills better suited to mall than to the woods.
there were no moredoors, no automatics, frilly electronics

Never thought Broncos drove poorly they were far superior to the CJ in ride quality, but I still like driving my CJ.

In 2021 - 2023 this was the 2-door Black Diamond. The 2.3L EcoBoost is just a state of fact in today's over-regulated auto industry/Western save-the-planet society. Turn off the modem and turn off the screen and most of the frilly electronics go away. That's how I went with mine.

Obviously that G6 Bronco version didn't sell very well. I'm a die hard Ford fan kid from the East Coast 1960's, I never heard of Bill Stroppe until this thread. I'd bet most people hadn't either. I don't get the point of releasing this Stroppe trim 5 years into the Bronco reintroduction. I'd think most of the hard-core Bronco fans have bought their retromod Bronco by now.

They haven't. A lot couldn't get what they wanted in the beginning because of constraints and then availability of certain features delayed some purchases until 24.

Depending on your age and what racing you followed you would know about Stroppe. When I was a kid I had slot cars styled after the racing broncos of the time.

But this model might show some desperation on Ford's part to generate interest.Based on the inventory on the local lots, dealers dropping price below MSRP and now the dealer that ignored my reservation is now emailing every other day to do a test drive etc. They have to work to sell them.

I stopped by one of the larger dealerships here in AZ the other day. (Earnhardt) They probably had 25 new Bronco’s. Saw several with the painted hard tops. There are definitely deals to be had.

Hate to beat a dead horse (Ha!) but I will.
Heyday is over.

AI Overview
As of October 23, 2024, Ford Bronco sales in the United States are down 16% through September, which is the only double-digit decline for a Ford brand nameplate that is still in production. However, some say that the decline is not a cause for concern for dealers.

The dealers still make plenty of money on them. Part of why its down because the people that are trading them in aren't buying another one.Based on my polling of people I know that drive suvs, they are not brand loyal, they buy a different brand every time.Plus the complaints I've seen (some are just stupid) they were in the wrong vehicle to begin with but here are some

I liked the idea of painted tops until I started seeing them. I think a matte or flat paint would look better. They definitely need something to help seal the trashy cardboard tops and disguise webbing and cracking.

I like the MIC gray, and I have been fortunate not to suffer with leaks cracks…
IF I were to decide on a painted roof, I would opt for a matte finish, me thinks…

So cute. The Bronco DR Mall Edition. If they got multimatic to tune the suspension then maybe it’s worth it. Or at least throw in a carbon fiber hood…
