ARE WE STILL ARGUING MANUAL vs AUTOMATIC? 🤦‍♂
😂🤣

Imagine a modern day production car with an AUTOMATIC.... when everything else is even.... Being able to shift faster than a human with a foot clutch and a manual shift lever....

Its like the Glock fan bois arguing that plastic striker fired guns are the only thing and will take over in the future while there are many companies producing metal frame hammer fired guns with companies introducing new metal frame guns. Its a pointless argument that trolls like to engage in just to annoy those who don't blindly agree with them.

Manuals are cheaper to produce and outlast automatics, shift speed only matters at the drag strip. at the strip it only amounts to .2-3 seconds that difference can be made up at the line by cutting a better light..., in bracket racing a "stick" can beat an auto every time.
It doesn't matter, ford gave us the option, its one I prefer.

And in bracket racing i can take a bone stock 1992 Ford Ranger 2.3 4cyl with and automatic with 175k miles on the odometer by being consistent, and beat a $100k built racecar.... can I not?

Or am I 100% wrong?

Mike, I think you’re right, but I’m just an uneducated troll… my BiL brackets a 327 powered Nova and said no one he races against is using a manual anymore… of course, it is Canada…

Yup.as long as you are consistent.

There are some of us that prefer manuals.
Some think automatics are modern but they have been around since the 50s.

Now that they are bringing the Base back, its going to fun to see how many are manual.
It doesn't affect people that prefer autos, but some how they feel they shouldn't exist. More cancel culture crap from that group.

The racing comment is erroneous, many classes specifically prohibit automatics. Especially the SCCA class I helped write rules for. No automatics.
Around here it's the opposite. The manuals have their own class and generally can't compete in the others. I love manuals but autos are so advanced now that the best of the best get hardly a measurably advantage with the stick and they're also less consistent. Apples to apples autos tend to win out, are they as fun or cool no but that's not what wins in the quarter mile. Reaction times have more of an effect. If you look at time slips and trap times when manuals win in tends to be more from a far superior reaction time. All that being said autos don't feel as powerful to me nor to the have the same kick in the pants feel. For me if I'm driving for fun Red light to red light or on the open road I'm going manual if I were to get a car purely for competitive drag racing I'd get a manual. No trans brake though, I feel like that's cheating.

I just noticed that they switched the tires from Territory MT to RT tires. Is that something they are doing on all Sasquatch equipped Broncos or just the Stroppe?

Oh there is no doubt most of the benefits of the manual transmission are all largely gone these days. Reliability of automatics are very good these days, the MPG benefit manuals used to have are largely gone, etc. etc. etc. Manuals are still simpler and easier to repair, but most of us aren't going to tear apart their transmission regardless of whether it's manual or automatic. Really the only benefit left is the cheaper price.

But some of us prefer using a manual transmission. It's an overall far more engaging experience than driving an automatic. If I didn't like to drive, I'd buy an automatic. But I enjoy driving. 😁

I've had both the seven speed manual, and now the auto in the Bronco. The manual was more fun to drive daily, but I'm okay with my auto. Nothing boring about either, except the auto with the 2.7 can get a bit sideways with that extra bit of tq/hp

It may be cheaper upfront to buy the manual but depending on design and driving techniques it certainly could cost more in the long run. The clutch is a wear item.

AI Overview+1
The cost of replacing a clutch in a 2021 Ford Bronco can vary depending on the type of clutch kit and the labor involved, but it can range from around $1,500 to $2,000: Clutch kit: A clutch kit for a 2021-2024 Ford Bronco 2.3L EcoBoost can cost between $1,565.43 and $1,663.89. Labor: Labor costs for a clutch replacement can range from $526 to $664.

My last car was a manual but I sold it in 2018 to help finance the house I was building. I really enjoy driving a manual also but I have to say, my 62 year old knees doesn't miss it now. Enjoy it while you can :)

I learned to drive on a manual, have had numerous ones over the years. My 73 Z28, 350z, 57 Chevy, 08 and 19 Mustangs. Loved them all. All great cars, ripping through the gears. My only gripe is that when I shift out of second to third I am going way to fast already. What a problem to have!🤣

Never replaced a clutch.drove cars to over 200k.Modern clutches are so light pedal pressure is not an issue.
Automatics cost more upfront cost more to maintain, cost more to replace and in the real world get less gas mileage.
