I think you will find the tie rods can be swapped using the adjustable wrench and the locking pliers. It has the Torx plus bits for the various "Bronco bolts," deep impact sockets for lug nuts or other high torque fasteners, and a breaker bar. What other fasteners do think are missing?
Full disclosure, I work for the company that manufactured the OEM Bronco tool kit and am genuinely curious. I can also answer or get the answers to any questions you might have on the tool kit. I cannot comment on Ford's business decisions or prices on the kit. We have been getting some great feedback on the kits from buyers and have had zero returns so far. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers.
If I was King—which... I'm not... probably a good thing. But if I was, I would have done the following...
- Remove the 13/16" socket
- Don't even know what this would be used for. Only thing that comes to mind is spark plugs, but the Bronco has 5/8" plugs. But maybe I'm missing something.
- Add TP-45
- Used throughout the Bronco
- Add 35mm impact socket
- Used for the wheel hub nuts
- Spare fuses
- Accessory Belt Install/Removal tool
- Both the 2.7L and the 2.3L have accessory belts that do not have a belt tensioners as part of the belt path—they're stretch fit. So the only way to install the belt is with a tool
The 2.7L owners might also appreciate a 27mm for the oil filter housing, but I'll leave it up to them to fight that battle.
I guess it depends on if the goal is to be the one toolkit needed to work on the Bronco, of it the goal is to be the emergency trail tool roll. If it's the former, then I'd expect all of the weird sizes and tools needed to work on the Bronco that wouldn't be in a "normal" toolkit, like the 35mm socket. If it's the latter, then there are bunch of things I wouldn't put in the kit—like the spark plug gap tool—and replaced with items that would be actually useful on the trail—like spare fuses and some of the items from the BOXO kit that was discussed earlier in this thread.
I'm sure there is a price point that Ford forced you to hit. But overall, I personally would expect a vehicle-specific tool kit to have all of the weird oddball tools needed that are specific to that vehicle. Granted some of the stuff is just ultra high-dollar specialty Ford tools that only the dealer would have. But something like the accessory belt installation/removal tool is something you could definitely see someone out on the trail needing if their accessory belt snapped.

BUT ANYWAY, I ordered it from a local dealer about a month ago... because I'm a sucker for anything with a Bronco logo. So you guys already got me. 😉
Not sure if I will just keep this as a cool Bronco merch thing or if I'll actually replace my existing tool roll with it. Will depend on the tool quality and how I feel about it when it actually arrives. But either way, I'll probably do a video on it for YouTube at some point for those curious.
