One got out of his harness in the 1st 1/2 mile. He kept on trying to get up under the dash. He finally found a place to hide. I didn't know where that was until I stopped to pee just before Silverton. In line at pit toilets at Molasis trail and they said no TP. So I got kleenex from the backseat. Opened the door and he almost fell out. He was between the back seat and the door. He's hiding behind the bed now. The other 2 are in the pet carrier still. They feel safe there.

My cat, Lola spent most of her time looking out the rear side windows during my trip to Moab. She was pretty chill for the most part. On occasion, she got adventurous and started exploring the footwells. That's when I had to wrangle her up and put her back in her carrier. Don't want a cat getting underfoot when it's time to depress the brake pedal! 😵

She'll probably stay in her carrier the next time I take her on a road trip. She sleeps most of the time, anyway. That said, I think she likes being on the road with me; who doesn't like a change of scenery?

Good morning and Happy Monday. It is the Labor Day holiday, so all that are gainfully employed, enjoy you day! Hopefully I will be joining your ranks here again, in a few months.
My cats decided to move around under the bed just as soon as my head hit the pillow. 2 of them came out, a couple of times. 3 times I had to lift up a corner of the bed. At least I could tell he hadn't got his harness caught on something. I was 3am before I fell asleep. So, I will hang here today. Hope to get out and walk around Ouray later.

Today was move-in-day on Mission Hill in Boston--a student neighborhood. Lots of U-Hauls and pickups and SUVs packed tight with laundry bags, IKEA boxes, beds, bureaus, lamps, you name it.

The interesting thing is that coming up a street, opposite direction to me, was a cruiser with lightbar lit (no siren), working its way through the congestion, and it turned out to be: a Bronco Sport!

My guess is that it was a Community Service sergeant's assigned cruiser, and maybe there was a disturbance somewhere.

😺 Cat update, 1 came out at 4pm , 2nd one came out about 6pm, the 3rd came out about 7pm. All have stayed out and have been eating and drinking. And I'm happy to have them with me. They on the other hand...yeah I'm feeling selfish.

We had a small house fire. No flames--combusted cellulose insulation--but lots of BFD water. Lots! So we've vacated the premeses. Remediation and repairs begun, insurance more than adequate. But our three cats were traumatized and went into hiding.

We finally got them out. One was in the ductwork! Humans and felines now adjusting to a furnished monthly apartment rental which is really quite nice. The upside: our systems will be upgraded to current codes, we get new walls and a new paint job, and most of all: this forces us to downsize and de-clutter.

(With people dealing with cancer etc. I just didn't feel this was worth posting. But you brought up cats, so...😺 😻 🙀 )

I think Steve was with us on Thursday afternoon. Saw a moose statue. I got on the radii and said it made me think of him. I started bawling, hard. It was 5 months that I lost Jeff on that day too. But the tears came to an abrupt halt. There were moose or elk playing in a field.
