I got a refurb cell iPad mini. It will track without having cell service plan. It’s all about the gps chip. I didn’t know that until I did a bit of researching. Just throwing it out there

Thanks, @DEBO294. I didn’t know about the cellular part was needed until last week when I read about it here. 🤷‍♂️ Was test driving my iPad on my way to BOR and wondering why it wasn’t tracking. Talk about being a newb… 😅 After looking at options, I chose the GLO 2.

Discovered an upgrade to an old product….
Purchased a new umbrella and low and behold…. They are now water repellent and the manufacturer is so proud of it, they print it on the label so everyone knows…. Wish i would have invented a water repellent umbrella…. And all these years I was wondering why every time it rained i got wet…

Good Sunday Morning, Kids!
Unbelievable quiet evening last night for July5, which is usually about as loud as the 4th… a nice change, especially for those who have pets, and those living deep in the woods and therefore at risk of fire …

The PNW continues today with a dry and mild run of weather, with comfortable lows and highs into the mid -30’s. We could really use some rain, but tragically, looks like Texas is getting the bulk of moisture in the country at the moment. SC/NC look to be in line for some rain today, so please be safe, and please pray for those lost in Texas, as well as those missing and those who have lost everything… When I’ve seen the Guadalupe River, it was little more than a Mecca for floating with a beverage and/or fishing rod… The videos of the last few days are terrifying.

Thanks for all the warm thoughts about Sonya and me feeling better. I turned the corner a few days ago, and Sonya felt well enough yesterday to go with me for a run up the Index-Galena Road up in the nearby Mt Baker-Snoqualimie National Forest… It was a great drive with the Bimini on and air flowing in and around us…

Last of the Colombian Supreme is ready this morning, and will restock this afternoon. My USAF son and family are beginning their trek (three rigs plus a travel trailer) from Georgia to their new station in North Utah today… Though still a long day’s drive away (13 hours) it will be great to have them that much closer… and Northern Utah is just a hop, skip and jump from Moab, Wyoming, and not too far from Colorado! Woohoo!

As I understand it, with the iPads, the GPS chip on comes on the Wi-Fi+cellular models… you don‘t have to necessarily use the cell service ($10 monthly) to utilize the gps chip, but it is part of cell chip set… I enjoy seeing how people figure out ways to make their steeds more off-roadable!

I made it back home!
Epic Adventure 2024 had me in Moab doing at least 10 trails I had never done. Hell's Revenge was the only repeat.
This weekend, I didn't even go on any trails.
Moab is always fun and always beautiful!

Generalized statements are rarely accurate… When Portland went through their issues a few years ago and Seattle suffered through the CHOP, the word elsewhere was they were both being burned to the ground… Nothing could be further from the truth…

Thats where CHOP happened… It WAS bad, but was a very small area (only about six blocks)… Seattle certainly has its problems, but certainly no worse than any other like-sized US city…
