Hey everyone. My mom passed last night at 10:12PM EDT. She suffered for the last two weeks and declined quickly. The last few days totally sedated. She has moved on to eternal life with Him. Hard to watch, but glad she knew I was with her in the end. Hug the ones you love!

So very sorry for your loss! Glad you got to be there. Also glad you got to see her a few weeks ago too. She's at peace now.
Take care Darren!

Good Sunday Morning, Kids!
Looks like the PNW is finally getting with the sunny weather program! A little bit of frost overnight but looks like not enough to mess with anyone’s gardens, and the clear skies are the harbinger of a beautiful day to end and start the week. Still will be 30-40° below by Arizona standards, but a good start up here in the left North.

Enjoy your day, keep short accounts, hug those close and call those far away… It’s been heart-warming to see different affirmations to comfort those who are fighting health challenges or have lost a loved one recently. As @Chief Ron said it does give one pause, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

Have a great Palm Sunday, All

Sometimes kind words are exactly what’s needed. Thank you all!!!❤️❤️❤️

Just a look or words of understanding helps.
It's one of those things in life we all deal with.
I was with my mom when she passed. It's a special moment you will proudly keep

Howdy from sunny Arizona. Unfortunately it's cooler today, expecting 8 below.
Yesterday was first pool day for us and one dog. The other dog never stopped playing in the pool.

Make it a great day

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood at 60 below on @Lots O Fords temp scale which appears to be all we are going to get. Mostly sunny and dry.
Big project for the day is to get my current tags on the Bronco since I have a few miles to travel this coming week. Might be all the get up and go I can muster...time will tell.
Have an outstanding and be a good human today and every day!😁

Tourons are easy to spot in Seattle. They’re often seen smoking pot while riding scooters on the sidewalk and carry umbrellas everywhere they go. Even on sunny days.

Come and get it....coffee is on! I need to go in the office this morning for a couple hours and that will all but kick my butt for the day. Line the guys out for my extended leave and fill out the FMLA paperwork. But I have the opportunity to do this another day so I'm thankful. Be good HUMANS today.
Need a giggle? I did! Have a super awesome day!

Howdy from sunny Arizona.
The only social media I interact with is here on Bronco Nation.
It has brought us new friends and adventures. Like Moab,
And happy when @Buck Yea goes to Ireland, @Bluestreak57 gets bionic knees, sad when @DEBO294 and @Darrel have such a loss. Concern for @Sven health and @BroncOitis job security.
And surprise at how often I think about everyone here. And as you know the list is way bigger than the ones I mentioned.

So as I'm on my second cup I'm toasting you all. Make it a great day.

Likewise, @Lots O Fords. I keep things simple by having BN as my sole source of virtual social interaction. (Although, my handle is @BuckYeah. @Buckyea is some guy from Texas. LOL) 😆

YouTube is another one of my haunts, but it's more for entertainment and education. Still, I get more out of BN since it's focused on a particular vehicle and the community in which it's celebrated. Nowadays, it's important to curate your downtime as much as the time dedicated to our professions. Retirees, well, they've got it made!

Retirement, for some, is like getting a new job that you know very little about….. stress and trepidation at first until a level of proficiency sets in……

Twelve years in, and I think I've completed all my apprentice requirements and am applying for journeyman rank.
My Bronco and the prospect of hitting the trails soon helps motivate me. Waiting for my Suma mirrors, and I have a Heretic rock light I want to install as a combination chase/backup light.

You still employed: Hang in there, and keep putting money into your 401Ks and IRAs. When we return to the December break-even point (soon, hopefully), be sure you add bonds to your portfolio, the closer you are to retirement. Reason: they tend to be more stable (not an absolute) and you can cash them in first if your stock portfolio dips. Here's the market from 1929 forward--the market always recovers.

Retirees: Try to live within your means. A real challenge for a Bronco owner! And stay active! The happiest and longest-surviving retirees maintain a degree of activity similar to their working years.

Edit: Thanks and a tip-of-the-hat to @Chief Ron for this superb post from the "Quote of the Day" thread:

Good Monday Morning, Kids!
The sun is shining and the temps are going to hit into the high -20’s today here in the PNW…
Couldn’t agree more concerning social media and here… Never in a million years would I have imagined forming such great bonds across so many miles, with some I hayet yo meet IRL (ask your kids if you need a translation)…

Somber moment for the week… After church yesterday Sonya and I sat down with a bunch of other geriatrics and listened to some friends hold a discussion on “finishing well.” Three panel members in different stages of “finishing” shared their thoughts on finances, family, friends, and making sure (ask much as possible) that things were shored up for ourselves and, when possible for our loved ones… It was a discussion we won’t soon forget, and reminded us that “we’re all in line” and though we don’t know when the moment might come, we can do some prep for the journey… For Sonya and me it means having some conversation, reviewing and updating our Wills and medical treatment plans, and starting to put together a ”next of kin“ file for our kids in case Sonya and I were to both make our exit at the same time…

I appreciate so much @Darrel and @DEBO294 sharing a bit of their journey with us, as doing so caused Sonya and I to get off the mark… Say the words, have the conversations, put down your wishes on paper, if not for you, then for those you will leave behind…

It’s going to be a glorious week here and hopefully where you are… Get outside and make it a great week!

The ultimate "finishing well" issue:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36-37)
