Below is a sneak peak of the upcoming changes. This is NOT a complete list, check back next week for a full list of changes, where I am sure @Laura , @Melissa Clark , and those in the dealer community (such as @fordvideoguy ) will have a full list of changes available for us.

TRIM CHANGES

Base trim Discontinued

As previously reported in another thread, the Base trim has been discontinued.

Returning for 2024: Everglades

It seems Everglades has not shared the same fate as the Base trim, and will be making a reappearance for the 2024MY in limited quantities.

2-Door Outer Banks Discontinued

Outer Banks loses the 2-Door option. Moving forward the trim will only be available as a 4-Door

New Heavy-Duty Steering Equipment

A more robust steering gear is now standard on the Wildtrak trim AND the Badlands trim.

No details on what exactly this is. I am assuming this is simply the steering gear that the Wildtrak has already borrowed from the Bronco Raptor and is standard on Wildtrak as part of HOSS 3.0.

Heavy-Duty Modular Bumper as a Standard Option

The Heavy-Duty Modular Bumper is once again standard on the Badlands trim (as it was in 2021). It is now also standard on Wildtrak.

Engine Option Changes

Big Bend is now ONLY available with the 2.3L engine.

In addition, the 2.3L automatic option for the Badlands trim has been deleted. Presumably the 2.3L manual option will still be available, but that has not been confirmed.

EXTERIOR CHANGES

New Colors

  • Shelter Green (Raptor exclusive) - This color was previously announced on the Ranger Raptor and will be making its way onto the Bronco Raptor.
  • Yellowstone (Heritage Limited exclusive) - As Ford previously announced (and @Laura reported on here) Yellowstone will now be available on the Heritage Limited trim.

Removed Colors

  • Area 51
  • Code Orange

More Color Options

  • Heritage Edition will now have access to Robin's Egg Blue
  • Raptor will now have access to Velocity Blue

New Appearance Package

  • A new Raptor-exclusive appearance package will be available as a late availability option.

INTERIOR CHANGES

Interior Seating Changes

In a continuation of the 2023MY Job 2 changes, cloth seats have been discontinued as a standard option on many trims.

New standard options:
  • Big Bend - Marine Grade Vinyl
  • Outer Banks - Leather-trimmed
  • Wildtrak - Leather-trimmed

New Standard Technology Equipment/Features

ALL TRIMS now get a 12" screen STANDARD!!! This in my opinion was probably the nail in the coffin for the Base trim.

Improved Comfort and Finish

  • New 4-way adjustable headrest STANDARD
  • Improved interior materials and finishes

Slide-Out Tailgate Standard on select trims

The slide-out tailgate is now standard on the following trims (4-door only):
  • Everglades
  • Heritage
  • Heritage Limited

PRICE INCREASES

No exact details on price increases, but it is probably safe to assume price increases will range anywhere from $500 and $2000 depending on the exact configuration (and probably a little extra on top for Raptor).

So... that's it!! What do you think??

Oh for sure they had people abandon reservations, I don’t disagree at all with that. Some people (regardless of which trim they ordered) can’t wait that long for a vehicle, and I 100% understand that. I too was really close to needing to abandon my reservation (wife’s car got crushed by an oak tree) but luckily the inflated car market also inflated my insurance payout.

But to say they were focusing on building the expensive trims when the longest wait time on average was for the most expensive trims/options (Sasquatch, Lux package, Wildtrak, etc.) seems very backwards. Heck Ford offered people an extra $2500 to NOT order the expensive options, and yet many people still did.

Anyway, I don’t think there is zero interest in the lower trims. Obviously there is interest. But if they are looking to simplify production, it makes sense to cut the lowest-demand trims—especially if those trims also have the lowest profit margin.

Seems odd they are concerned about profits when they are losing so much on EVs,Cut those instead.

Interest doesn’t seem to be there for the higher trims either right now. My 22 Badlands has been up for weeks with no bytes, even at the local dealer selling it on consignment for me. Cars.com says it’s a good price… lux, Sasquatch, lots of desirables. Only a few nibbles. I think Ford’s inability to cancel orders has only made it look like there’s a ton of interest where there doesn’t seem to be in the real world. I suspect a huge number of them have been abandoned and Ford has no way of knowing it.

The buying public is fickle.

The real question: Does it have a hard top?

For some reason people are actively repulsed by the soft top. There are some REALLY well-optioned vehicles on my dealer's lot, and from talking to the salespeople, the only reason why it they aren't selling is because of the soft top.

I'm not sure if it is like that everywhere or if it's just cause you and I are in New England and people are afraid of snow. But it's crazy to me just how people are saying "hard top or bust".

I had it up for sale with dual OE tops for a couple weeks. When that didn’t move, I sold the hard top. Soft tops are plenty popular here. Was able to lower the price by $6K by selling the hard top separately and including only the original soft top. I suppose it’s possible some people don’t want a Fox DSC / Camburg suspension tho it seems like a highly sought after upgrade. Also comes with a nice Baja setup. Dealer is willing to give me $5K under asking which tells me it’s priced right. I might take them up on it if it doesn’t sell soon.

Wonder if Ford will offer the steering rack to purchase for existing Badlands owners? Or any trim owner.

Does anyone know if Ford is accepting 2024 Heritage model orders yet?

Admittedly I didn’t check last week. But assuming nothing has changed in the last 7 days… they are accepting 4-door Heritage orders, but not 2-door orders.
