Was told by my dealer that if I don’t have a VIN by next week then I will be pushed to 2023 model year. Reserved 8.8.2020. Converted 2.22.21 for 2021 model. 2022 model update submitted on 10.21.2021. I thought since my order was in that I’d still be up for 2022 model year but dealer is making it sound like that is NOT the case.
So, per your dealer, they are not building Broncos after the first week of May??
You should let him know they haven't even scheduled for May yet let alone the last 7 months too

I also asked to remove tow package a while back but it still shows up on my online order. My faith in the dealer is lacking, hence the questioning here.

I placed an order for a Black Diamond Oct. 21,2021 nothing special just 2.7 auto and upgraded appearance group with locking storage in console and rear.I received notice from Ford they received my order but nothing since. Is the next step receiving a vin then a build date? Should I do anything before March 7.Will I get a 22 or 23? Will they all look the same as a 21?

If the order is as you want, I would leave it alone and just wait it out. At this point you might get a 2022 but no one can say with certainty.

Should I be worried that I didn't recieve any emails from Ford for my Jan 18, 22 order? Still sitting as "manufacture accepted" on my dealers tracker. Intially, my salesperson put in an incorrect email. He corrected it about 10 days after submitting the order but not sure it stuck since I've never recieved anything.

So far, with an order put in last October, the only thing I have received from Ford was the order confirmation email, which arrived within a few hours.

If your dealer put in your email incorrectly, then it makes sense that you would have missed that confirmation email.

I expect the next thing I will hear, and probably you as well, will be the email about an assigned build date and VIN.
May the Ford be with you, always.

Thank you. I'll be checking in with the dealer tomorrow to make sure the email is correct (again).

I got a call from my salesman -- from one of the largest and oldest Ford dealers in the nation -- and he told me that my dealership had ZERO bronco orders picked for build in the April group just scheduled. Normal production years end building in the May/June timeframe -- but that assumes that they started building in the Aug/Sep time frame for a given MY....Since they quit building the MY21 trucks in Dec 21, I don't know how that bodes for the production end for the MY 22....

So....since I got a "Be patient reservation holder" email from Ford last week that either signals that they will work to schedule it this MY or I need to get ready to be kicked into 23MY.....who knows.....

Would love to know when they plan on the 22MY end and 23MY start. We already know they got a break in June or July to fix the line for the Raptor

The bottom line is that dealerships don’t know exactly how many allocations they are gonna get because it isn’t a set number. It changes. My dealership knows that I won’t cancel my order and they are pretty transparent. The allocations change For them. They may have five or six a month and they end up with three or eight. It is always in flux. My sales manager will let me sit down and BS with her in her office and she pulls it up on the computer and I can look at it with her. I have seen her number of reservations drop due to orders getting picked up and some dropping out. A few have deferred their orders now till MY23 looking for new options, colors and trim packages. I am right at number 20. The week after the hold They had seven previewed for build and got none pulled.last I saw they have 27 allocations. Not stock but allocations for customers. So who knows. She can’t give me solid numbers because she doesn’t have solid numbers. I am just curious as to the number of reservations that are just getting tired of waiting, and cancel? Anyone else seeing that at their dealership?

That's the best answer I have read so far.... it's a crap shoot. Anyone can be a winner. My dealer told me walk ins have ordered post reservation stop and already recieved broncos at their dealership. I reserved beginning of August 21 and have deleted my tow package and cross bars based on dealer advice. I really don't think that will make a difference in my build at this point. 2 dr Badlands loaded except for Marine grade vinyl seats and now no tow or cross bars Probably will have to convert to MY23 with price increase even though I have a dealer MY22 MSRP deal in writing.

They may mean that they have all of the orders/builds/allocations for the current model year. That's not uncommon for Ford and other manufacturers to end orders for the year, in say March, and continue manufacturing of current model year based on those orders that were received through March. Model year 2023 would be based on orders received after that date, or say May in this case. If you order in May, you're ordering a 2023 model. Not uncommon at all.

I thought the April session was canceled last week and is supposed to be scheduled this Thursday. Not sure how they know they won't have any scheduled. I think previewing is on Tuesday.
Is it possible your salesman didn't know that it was canceled?

Well, as it turns out, I didn't know that the scheduling didn't happen last week -- I'll bet they didn't know it either.....

This might be the best explanation for why Ford has stopped taking MY22 orders, or rather orders at all for now. I think that they have so many MY22's on order already (including the converged MY21's) that they already know that their production capacity for this year is met/exceeded. so, they stop taking orders for MY22, and wait until later this year to start taking MY23's. That doesn't mean that they might NOT push some MY22's into MY23's, but fingers crossed they won't need to.

That is quite an optimistic view thinking that there's the possibility that they could actually full all outstanding orders and not have to roll anything into 2023. Well buildable orders anyway. Can't really include anyone that is holding strong for the modular top.

The Back Door Ordering Page as you have mentioned will not update daily, or weekly, or even Monthly it is at random. I have just recently seen my Broncos picture update and it's been 8 Months prior to that as always looking like a Base Bronco. Your best option is to go to your Dealer and get a (Order Summary Preview Sheet) this will be the most accurate information you can have at the present time.
