Ford recently added new MY22.5 models and features to Build & Price, and along with them, price increases for Bronco. Ford communicated it would detail pricing impact to current reservation and unscheduled order holders before March 8 –– and Bronco Nation has the facts. This information is published on Ford’s FAQ site.

MY22.5 Additions and Changes

To recap, major mid-year updates to Build & Price include the addition of the Bronco Everglades and Raptor series, as well as the optional HOSS 3.0 system for Wildtrak.

Price Increases and Protection

With the B&P update, Ford also listed new pricing for the Bronco, to cover market realities. This is the second time MY22 Bronco has received price increases.

MY22

The first set of increases came in October 2021, when order banks opened for MY22. Despite the increases, Ford promised price protection: Reservation and order holders as of March 19, 2021 would receive MY21 pricing for a similarly equipped MY22/23 Bronco.

MY22.5

Now, prices have increased again: MY22.5 costs rose $1,250-$2,000.

Regardless, price protection still applies to all customers with a reservation/order placed by March 19, 2021. What Ford calls "retail order price protection" potentially applies to customers with a reservation or order placed without a reservation after March 19, 2021. We’ll get into the nuances of what causes a price increase below the chart.

Customer Groups

Customers who placed a reservation or an order prior to March 19, 2021 (Group 1): You are price protected. Even so, use the next few days to make sure your order is how you want it. Changes after March 11 will require a manual process to keep price protection.

Customers who placed an order without a reservation after March 19, 2021 (Group 2): Make sure your order is how you want it. Changes after March 11 could cause price increases.

Customers who placed a reservation after March 19, 2021 (Group 3): Order banks are being paused after March 7. Place an order before the cutoff if you’d like a chance to receive a MY22 Bronco (no guarantees). Doing so will give you an MY22 order at Job1 price levels.

More On Price Protection and Price Increases

In the FAQs, Ford details some key points:

How much will adding HOSS 3.0 change my pricing? Adding HOSS 3.0 to an existing Wildtrak order will add $2,515 MSRP. It is a simple feature and does not trigger a change in series, equipment package, number of doors, or 4x4 system.

What qualifies as a series, equipment package, number of door, or 4x4 system change? An example of a series change would be going from Badlands to Big Bend. An equipment package refers to base, mid, high, or lux package. A door change would mean going from a 4 door to 2 door and vice versa. A 4x4 system change reflects changing to or from the standard 4x4 system to the advanced 4x4 system.

Does price protection apply to Bronco special editions? No. The Bronco brand price-protection program only applies to customers and the series offerings as of March 19, 2021. Price protection will not apply if switching to a Raptor or Everglades.

Let’s cover a flow chart to provide additional clarity: Will you see a price increase?

Additional Details

One last highlight of the newest Ford FAQ updates to take note of: If you’ve been given the chance to order a Bronco Raptor, you will not be able to change dealers, due to the limited-production vehicle status.
