Ford recently added new MY22.5 models and features to Build & Price, and along with them, price increases for Bronco. Ford communicated it would detail pricing impact to current reservation and unscheduled order holders before March 8 –– and Bronco Nation has the facts. This information is published on Ford’s FAQ site.

MY22.5 Additions and Changes

To recap, major mid-year updates to Build & Price include the addition of the Bronco Everglades and Raptor series, as well as the optional HOSS 3.0 system for Wildtrak.

Price Increases and Protection

With the B&P update, Ford also listed new pricing for the Bronco, to cover market realities. This is the second time MY22 Bronco has received price increases.

MY22

The first set of increases came in October 2021, when order banks opened for MY22. Despite the increases, Ford promised price protection: Reservation and order holders as of March 19, 2021 would receive MY21 pricing for a similarly equipped MY22/23 Bronco.

MY22.5

Now, prices have increased again: MY22.5 costs rose $1,250-$2,000.

Regardless, price protection still applies to all customers with a reservation/order placed by March 19, 2021. What Ford calls “retail order price protection” potentially applies to customers with a reservation or order placed without a reservation after March 19, 2021. We’ll get into the nuances of what causes a price increase below the chart.

Customer Groups

Customers who placed a reservation or an order prior to March 19, 2021 (Group 1): You are price protected. Even so, use the next few days to make sure your order is how you want it. Changes after March 11 will require a manual process to keep price protection.

Customers who placed an order without a reservation after March 19, 2021 (Group 2): Make sure your order is how you want it. Changes after March 11 could cause price increases.

Customers who placed a reservation after March 19, 2021 (Group 3): Order banks are being paused after March 7. Place an order before the cutoff if you’d like a chance to receive a MY22 Bronco (no guarantees). Doing so will give you an MY22 order at Job1 price levels.

More On Price Protection and Price Increases

In the FAQs, Ford details some key points:

How much will adding HOSS 3.0 change my pricing? Adding HOSS 3.0 to an existing Wildtrak order will add $2,515 MSRP. It is a simple feature and does not trigger a change in series, equipment package, number of doors, or 4×4 system.

What qualifies as a series, equipment package, number of door, or 4×4 system change? An example of a series change would be going from Badlands to Big Bend. An equipment package refers to base, mid, high, or lux package. A door change would mean going from a 4 door to 2 door and vice versa. A 4×4 system change reflects changing to or from the standard 4×4 system to the advanced 4×4 system.

Does price protection apply to Bronco special editions? No. The Bronco brand price-protection program only applies to customers and the series offerings as of March 19, 2021. Price protection will not apply if switching to a Raptor or Everglades.

Let’s cover a flow chart to provide additional clarity: Will you see a price increase?

Additional Details

One last highlight of the newest Ford FAQ updates to take note of: If you’ve been given the chance to order a Bronco Raptor, you will not be able to change dealers, due to the limited-production vehicle status.

  1. If Ford was as good as getting their parts as they are raising their prices, I would have my Bronco by now. Ordered on day 1 and still nothing.

  2. Ford has had a disasters roll out on this bronco I can’t think of any other vehicle that has been plagued as bad as this one! They use a lot of excuses but taking nearly a year to order one and then their dealers are ripping people off with 10k 20k and $30,000 mark ups, and then Ford pulling a Republican style response saying they are all independent dealers( like they have no control!! Why not refuse to sell them them to dealers that are ripping people off!!

  3. i ordered the Hoss for my wildtrak today and they upped my base 2000 dollars , was originally ordered thru the dealer june 2021

    1. I’ve been hearing of that issue, and dealers have been saying the system has been glitching. Ford hasn’t changed positioning on the HOSS 3.0 being a simple feature, so I would recommend staying close to your dealer as they work through the updates.

      1. Hi JMGENOA, Ford says all invoices/window stickers will now reflect MY22.5 pricing. So people who are seeing the $2,515 HOSS 3.0 cost + a base price increase will not be paying the base price increase, you’re just seeing it. The dealer will be marking down the base price of the vehicle upon delivery to adjust for it.

  4. Yea I was able to add the Hoss package in today also. My original order was Oct 2020. Of course my wildtrack change was done before the price protection. When we changed it today it changed my MSRP 2 k plus. I know it was not supposed to change only add the Hoss value. Anyways hoping they add a code to counter the difference.

  5. Hi Chris, you’re correct; you won’t be paying the price increase. All invoices/window stickers will now reflect MY22.5 pricing. So people who are seeing the $2,515 HOSS 3.0 cost + a base price increase will not be paying the base price increase, you’re just seeing it. The dealer will be marking down the base price of the vehicle upon delivery to adjust for it.

  6. My dealership LaBelle ford was given to me By Ford Corporate when I reserved in July of 2020. Labelle Ford contacted me in October about the reservation, and took my order. Then They called in March 2021 about having to put my order in asap! Will I have price protection, as I don’t EVER hear from LaBelle Ford? Thank You I reserved and ordered a 2022 Maverick from Coconut Point Ford in August of 2021. they kept me posted. I bought my Maverick Jan. 20, 2022. I love it. It is coming on two years now from the original reservation. I have received three gifts from FORD. Thank You, but I really want my Bronco. Please tell me something? Please.

  7. How do you know if you qualify for the 22.5 price protection? In my case I have a 4dr Wildtrak, I got the $695 rebate but the dealership I purchased from had no clue about anything to do with price protection. I am trying to work through it with them I just wanted to know the “ins/outs”. The only thing I have changed throughout my order process was the color, then I switched to a soft top. All of the big stuff has stayed the same.

    Thanks!

  8. I have a 2022 Bronco Wish I knew about price protection Order it 8 months Price change from $1250 Call ford corporate They do nothing for you

  9. My order with dealer was April 21 2022, from what I’m reading I’m NOT price protected? Is this true? Makes NO sense that im now going to be changed to a MY23 and Not price protected, Ford needs to step up on all MY21 orders and Price Protect them, waiting 2 yrs for a vehicle is ridiculous

    1. Norm, you’ll want to confirm with your dealer when you put in your order. Since your original order was after the March deadline, in no case would you have been price-protected back to MY21, but you might get price-protected to MY22.
