So I was at the dealership today getting routine maintenance on the Bronco. My service advisor, informed me that there was an advanced notice recall regarding the Sasquatch, Bilstein shocks. Mind you this is an advanced notice of recall, but one is coming. The recall information as follows: #25S01. Let‘s see how long this takes.

Looks like it was installed by someone who is blind in one eye and can't see out of the other...

You know that tech was to lazy to get the key for the wheel lock. Looks like they tried to pop it out using a flat head screw driver and cracked the housing. They need to get that sucker fixed!

I have an appointment next week to have my rear shocks examined for the recall. I crawled under the truck and snapped a few pictures. What do you think, does this shock look like it falls within the "replace both shocks" category. I think so because the weld is cracked at the top.

Well this went from bad to worse real fast!!! Took mine in for the “inspection” of the shocks to take pictures and send into Ford for next steps. Well it came back that I only get the “fix” and not replacements…fine whatever, they are leaking and corroded so I’ll have to just replace with something better.

BUT!!! They were going to do the recall on the rear camera as well while it was there…this is what I end up with!!!! WTF??? I am pissed!!! Parts ordered to fix it but that could take up to 7 days! Not only that but they had to do a factory reset as well so who knows what the hell I lost in that process… I am not happy at all!!

They had it all day!!! Didn’t do the oil change and tire rotation either!!! Dropped it off last night.

@Ford Motor Company DO BETTER!!!
They obviously haven’t heard… “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy!”

Sorry you’re having to deal with this…

This is a safety recall due to poor design/manufacturing. It’s not a question of “How Bad” they are. They’re all bad. Just a matter when they will separate.
Maybe you can get some RTV and some covers. Ha!

I don’t see a crack, just evidence of a leak.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

The funny thing is that the wheel lock key was in the cup holder!! In plain sight!!

But I just got a call from the dealership and they got my shocks approved for replacement!!! Yay!!! And it will be completed on Tuesday next week, just in time for Colorado! And the camera will be fixed that day as well!!

I had to fight to get mine approved for replacement. They were only going to do the fix.

Here’s what my drivers side looks like less than a year after install. Definitely leaking, dirt doesn’t stick to nothing…

Here’s my passenger side, definitely not as bad but headed in that direction!

My camera was never a problem, but apparently a lot of Broncos sold in my "vehicles affected" time frame developed an issue. I'll keep my camera. Just give me new rear shocks, Ford!

Same here, no problems with the rear camera on my '22.

I definitely don’t want to go to bat for Ford here, but all four of mine have that seepage look along with a bit of rust. Maybe it’s a residual assembly residue for rust protection? If so they have failed. My ride has never been driven in winter and only once in the rain.
Anyway you dice it these shocks aren’t worthy of my Bronco. Even if Ford replaces the back two, with what? Probably not much of an improvement and the front issues remain. That’s why I’m not wasting my time bleeding out to Ford. I’m taking control and replacing all four with a superior product that enhances the vehicle on and off road. I’m thinking there’s tons of room for improvement. The rear of my 2dr has always felt way too soft.

Yup, I went with Ride shocks for that very reason. I was looking for a little lift, but mainly what I wanted was a better shock. One that's adjustable. I looked at King, and Fox, but in the end, I settled for the Ride shocks.

Take a look at, or better yet, talk with the folks at Accutune. They have been tuning shocks for offroad racers for years, and now they are building their own shocks (Ride). If you want to stick with King or Fox, they will tune them for you. They spent a ton of time talking with me, asking questions about how I use my Bronco, and weight of the Bronco, etc. to make sure I got the right shocks AND spring rates out of the gate for my use. Their website has a ton of information on it as well. https://accutuneoffroad.com/

Got my new shocks installed today. It seems they do both the shocks and the sleeves. I went back in to make sure because there is definitely something wrapped around them this time. Hopefully they hold up and don’t leak…the service manager admitted that there was a lot of corrosion on the old ones. They also use the old springs. And they replaced the camera housing! I think I am good now. Ready to head to the mountains!!

OK set up a time to get the shocks evaluated and the two rear camera recalls done, while it is there going to have them do the oil change and tire rotation and an alignment. they already told me it was going to be there about a week so I'm assuming a Month we will see how this goes.😟 😟
