So I was at the dealership today getting routine maintenance on the Bronco. My service advisor, informed me that there was an advanced notice recall regarding the Sasquatch, Bilstein shocks. Mind you this is an advanced notice of recall, but one is coming. The recall information as follows: #25S01. Let‘s see how long this takes.

Ford should just offer us some money to use for new shocks. Then we can all get what we want. I know it won’t be much but it would help.

Ford will never give us money or do the right thing. How many recalls are unresolved. Fords concern is with parts hitting another vehicle, not with our safety.

Bilstein reps have said that their OEM Shock manufacturing and engineering are totally different divisions than their aftermarket. Not sure I would rule them out because of this debacle but of course that's your call.

But does that mean they don't build good quality for OEM and after market, or does it mean they have bad quality in both locations, or did Ford not properly engineer and the shocks are not built to handle the loads, or....

This reminds me of the WNBA, they want profit sharing, but have never made a profit. You request money from Ford and they are having financial issues. I still haven't heard what happens if your shocks are OK now but fail later. Did I miss it.

Mine failed reservoir fell off one the other leaking everywhere with loss of pressure. Dealer wouldn’t replace because out of warranty and no resolution on recall. So I bought aftermarket bilsteins installed them. F*** Ford

I chuckled at the instruction in step 8 to use a popsicle stick to smooth the edges of the glue. I didn't know my Ford Extended Service Plan had an arts & crafts section.

I brought my Bronco into the dealer yesterday and they said my shocks weren’t leaking but they ordered parts anyway. Something about isolators, having to take pictures and yadda yadda yadda I’ve got to bring it back when the parts get there. I only have 13.6K miles on my Bronco. At what point are failures being detected? Shouldn’t they just swap out the shocks anyway to avoid having me come back again down the road?
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Yeah definitely not a good situation for us folks with the recall. But in fact I just ordered a set of assembled 6112 Bilstein’s for my 2dr.
Ordered the clip settings to #1 on both front and back. This should give me just a bit of lift and level it out a touch. My fronts are presently at just under 39” and my backs are just under 41” - center flare bottom to floor.

I certainly don’t have any confidence in the longevity and safety of these recalled factory parts. The installation doesn’t look to be that difficult for me to handle and the minimum lift shouldn’t negatively affect any geometry.
$1800 isn’t that bad for a better, safer ride.😃

Well this went from bad to worse real fast!!! Took mine in for the “inspection” of the shocks to take pictures and send into Ford for next steps. Well it came back that I only get the “fix” and not replacements…fine whatever, they are leaking and corroded so I’ll have to just replace with something better.

BUT!!! They were going to do the recall on the rear camera as well while it was there…this is what I end up with!!!! WTF??? I am pissed!!! Parts ordered to fix it but that could take up to 7 days! Not only that but they had to do a factory reset as well so who knows what the hell I lost in that process… I am not happy at all!!

They had it all day!!! Didn’t do the oil change and tire rotation either!!! Dropped it off last night.

My camera was never a problem, but apparently a lot of Broncos sold in my "vehicles affected" time frame developed an issue. I'll keep my camera. Just give me new rear shocks, Ford!

Mine wasn’t either but they said it had to be fixed. The guy had my truck all day to fix it and that’s how it was left. He also struggled to get the software to update and was working with Ford all day on that.

Ugh. I do have the Camera issue. But my shocks are good. But with 52k on them probably time to get some new ones.

Hopefully your dealership knows how to properly do the recall because mine obviously doesn’t! It looks like the tech dug the camera out with a knife!! There has to be a better way to get that camera out. You are lucky to not have the shock issue!

These shop gorillas need to remove the spare and the tire carrier to access the camera. I only allow two master technicians at my dealership to touch my vehicles. The problem with the young, up and coming techs is that they never bother to look at any information about the vehicles to correctly work on them.

I went back this morning and asked the service advisor what level of tech was working on my truck because he murdered my rear camera!! I think he was a little shocked at what it looks like.
