Is the Bronco Sport a better buy than the Bronco??

Interesting video from TFL today that I tend to largely agree with.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't give up my Bronco.

BUT... if it made any amount of financial sense at this point I would absolutely trade my Escape AWD for a Bronco Sport. I love my mid-sized Bronco, but the fact of the matter is the Escape makes a lot more sense for the majority of family trips we take, and therefore the majority of the time the Escape is the vehicle I'm driving. However... the Escape is just a little too small for us (largely due to the stupid sloped rear hatch 😤 ), and the Bronco Sport would be nearly perfect.

No doubt the Bronco is the better off-roader. But the Bronco Sport just seems like an all-around better vehicle when you take into account everyday driving, weekend fun, family hauling, operating costs, etc.

(And if I'm being honest 85%+ of the time I'm off-roading, a Bronco Sport Badlands could easily complete the task.)

I just use Google maps and type in ford and literally just look at all the dealers in a 6 hour radius. Took me a while to find a 2 door bronco for msrp. Something will pop up. Just bookmark the dealers that aren't ripping people off and check back with them every now and then or check on sites like carvana

I have found my ‘20 escape hybrid AWD able to do everything I’ve asked of it, though obviously it doesn’t go off-road (on purpose, at least)…

Bronco hybrid? First choice
Bronco Sport hybrid? Strong 2nd choice
Maverick 4WD Hybrid? Interested

For me it has proven to possibly be the better buy. I got a well equipped 2023Badlands. That built out at 44k. A 6G Black Diamond with just the automatic is over 46k. I have heated seats and steering wheel. Living in Chicagoland that's a necessity. A 6G BD would be 50k to add any upgrades. For what I want it has delivered. I do most of what the Bronco club 6G's do at the ohv park. So I'm happy.

Being a Bronco addict, my husband and I have both and have experienced the differences. We also guide both programs for the Bronco Off Roadeo. We love them both and take them both off-road. They both have a cool look to me. We definitely get better gas mileage on the Sport. There's more ground clearance with the Bronco but find that's the only real hold back off-road with the Sport. So, it all depends on what you want out of a vehicle. They're both awesome.

Hey all! Man I have kinda missed being on the site. I have been very busy and haven’t been on very much. That being said, I want to reach out to everyone on this thread and applaud you all for setting a record. This thread, across the board has gotten the most complaints from many different members. So let me remind all of us, whether we are putting up a post or responding to it, that we really need to take it down a bit. Please, please let’s try to keep the trolling and sniper shots to a minimum. Because we have many talented members here at the BN. Again I am not going to single anyone out and no one is getting a demerit here. Just please try to play nice, that’s all. Let’s try to remember that many people here may have been on another site where they either were asked to leave or left on their own. So let’s please try to foster inclusiveness here. I'm gonna jump in here and echo what @TK1215 said but a little stronger bc I too am now receiving complaints. We're all gonna be respectful, we're all gonna be courteous, or we reserve the right to limit accounts if they are found to be in violation of our forum rules. Trashing someones choice in car is not going to be tolerated. Don't like it? Don't buy it. You are fully entitled to your decision on that. What you are not entitled to do is to come on here and put others down and shame them for what they drive... you know who you are. There will be no name calling. I've been called every name and term in the book over the past 3 years and trust me, it's not super fun! And thats not even for what I drive, that was just because someone didn't like what I wore or how I said something! You all hold us accountable, we will do the same in return.

This community is meant to be welcoming, inclusive, and supportive, no matter if you drive a Bronco DR or a base model Bronco Sport. If you need to put someone on here down to make yourself feel better, I'd encourage you to find another forum or another platform not affiliated with Bronco Nation. I'm good with that. Not really sensitive about anything. Except a Maine Coon scratching my head when I'm trying to sleep! I'm only awake because my wife woke me up to pull a tick off her neck. 😂
