I bought my bronco 3 weeks ago give or take… finally got out of the dealership 30 minutes after they closed. As soon as I pulled out of the dealership the thing went into limp mode, check engine and service 4x4 messages popping up. Couldn’t get back to the dealership because everyone had left. Luckily it came out of limp mode and I was able to get home. Next day I had to call off work and take it back to the dealership. They replaced an accelerator pedal, with 23 miles on it? Anyway, 1100 miles later same thing is happening. Limp mode , wrench light is on .. service 4x4 messages. I had big plans for this thing.. but at this point I’m scared to sink any money in it, cause it just might get traded

I had the same thing happen on my previous vehicle which was a Chevy Silverado. Took it in and was told it was an issue with the PCM based on codes. PCM replaced and still had the same issue. I decided to inspect everything myself. I found out after close inspection that my battery cable connector was cracked that I didn’t see before. I Cut it and put on $5 connector replacement and it fixed the issue. Check your battery cable contacts.

It is now Friday the 23 of Oct. Follow up on my Bronco. Tuesday they said it was the Turbo controller was bad and intermit-ant. The put a new one on. Yesterday they said it was actually the Turbo and they would order a new one but it will be next week before I get it back. Today I got a follow up call from the dealer to see how things are going and the sales Mgr asked if I feel I should trade it back in for another. I mentioned "How could I be assured that the next one is not worse than this one." However, pending the success or lack there of of this last go round, I will entertain swapping out. In the mean time I have gone back to taking my PTSD psycho med to prevent a Rambo style action. LOL

At least they're willing to swap it. I would definitely consider...

Yeah, I think you'd be better off taking another Bronco in trade. Something's definitely not right about the one you've got. Odds are in your favor that the replacement won't have the same problem. It's been a rough patch for sure, but I think it's worth pursuing the acquisition of a replacement. Give Bronco another chance. 😉

I feel for you bro.. It’s ashame we spend so much money on a new vehicle just to have problems. I expect any car ownership to eventually leads to issues but it used to be the problems wouldn’t start for a few years.. Good luck
