I've seen some say under rear seat, bumper, tailgate, hood, and rollbar. What are your thoughts and photos if possible?

Reading the forums, I am now getting some concern about tailgate weight. I am putting 37s and trying to conserve $$$ and weight. This is becoming very difficult to do. I just keep spending. I am now thinking about this. Anyone have this set up? It would be better I think as far as weight management on tailgate but adds weight to back end. It would allow the addition of jack mount and other accessories without stacking more weight on tailgate. Thoughts?

There are some concerns on the other forum about how this carrier latches to the tailgate, rather than to itself. So you are essentially tying the bumper and body together. Might cause problems as things flex when offroad.

I really like the look but I would love to have a tailgate reinforcement option for less money and weight. Doesn't seem to be very many options for this yet. Most of what I have seen seem to be just a flat piece of metal screwed to hinges and tailgate. I like what Ford is using on Raptor Bronco but my understanding is that it won't work on the other Bronco Models.

Ford is coming out with one for the regular Bronco that looks very similar to the one on the Raptor. I saw it on a Bronco at an event in August. No idea when it will be out though. I'll see if I can find some pictures.
I talked to my buddy at Ford and they are still waiting for all the parts to come in. He is hoping they all will be in by Christmas, so maybe it will be available by the first of the year.

I was just watching the latest videos by @mitchcreel and they are developing a carrier for a hilift jack. Not sure if the carrier is separate from the Rotopax carriers.
We are super pumped to get it out on the market soon! Also thanks for watching!

So at what point do you need to put stronger hinges on the rear door? You add 37 tires, fuel cans, jacks, water cans. Is there a weight limit for the factory hinges?

I think I read somewhere they are rated to 300 lbs.

Ok, so I personally gave up on the tailgate idea for Hi Lift Jack. I might want to put other things as well down the road like Jerry Can, etc. Not now but it seems tailgate is somewhat limited. So I saw where Expedition One is having a sale of 25% off using code BLACK22 through the end of November. I ordered the below and saved about $450. It gives me lots of options. I really like the way I can mount a jack horizontally behind tire if I choose too. I did black powder coat and BD Squadron Pro Floods.

The women's build at SEMA used the Raptor spare mount, maybe @Ladyinbluebronco can comment on its compatibility or lack thereof
So I do not know. I wasn’t there when that was being installed. But I will get you the information.

I mounted mine to the roll bar. I like it because it stays out of the weather unless I have the top off and easy to get to if needed. I also have a lock on one end so it can't be stolen when I have the top off.

The high lift is dangerous. We have one but will likely never use it for our bronco. It is useful for other things. But not lifting cars.

If you do use hi lift on bronco. You either need a D-Lift or Jack Jaw attachment so you have a safe lift point. Also make sure you buy the hi-lift jack base to keep it stable on the ground.

We found a hack. See pics. We have a 3 inch lift on 37s. The factory jack won't get tire off the ground UNLESS you use the hi-lift jack base!! So all we need is OEM jack and the hi lift base to change our tire now, you simply have to flip the base upside down and proceed to outfit it with the OEM jack/parts. Easy And Safe.

Is there a reason the stock jack won't work? If not, I'd get a nice, not expensive, bottle jack. They probably work better in 95% of the scenarios, and the other 5% of the time the hi-lift isn't going to work any better.

ETA: I'll elaborate, and I've probably done it better before on this forum elsewhere. The hi-lift doesn't lift straight up and down, or the vehicle doesn't stay up and down. The jack will move in an arc as the vehicle does, as the vehicle is lifted. It'll do the same on the way down, but not necessarily in the same arc. You may lift ok, but as you lower the jack may make contact with the vehicle, or vice-versa. If you're off-camber, next to rocks, ruts, trees, etc. you're going to push your vehicle into something.

The hi-lift requires a hard/fixed place to jack from, which most vehicles won't have (think steel bumper, not plastic), or the place that is convenient or necessary to lift from will not have that hard place from which to lift, either a plastic bumper, a rocker that is set slightly back from the door edge (the jack will hit the door as you lift or lower).

The 48" or 60" or whatever total length of the jack is, is at the extreme, but it doesn't necessarily offer 48" or 60" total lift because if the bumper height is 24" you have 24" of lift (48"), at the (unsafe) max. Also, often overlooked, the hi-lift is lifting above the axle, and therefor requires you to unload the suspension. You waste whatever the articulation is in effort lifting the tire from above the axle. Lift from the axle and every inch of lift is lifting the wheel/tire. (sprung/unsprung lifting)

It's safer, requires less lift, is almost always easier to use, a bottle jack under the axle tube.

edited again to fix some grammar and typos...whew, my fingers can't keep up with my mind or...whatever.

I was going to ask where is a jack point for these hi-lifts. So I'm guessing there is not a place unless you purchase a different bumper. And now I'm finding out my jack in the vehicle may not even lift it.... Going to be beach driving in a few months so I need to figure that out

So is the stand not tall enough if used right side up? I bought a High lift many moons ago when I had my Jeep. Didn't like the size after I got it, but I kept the stand. It has come in handy a number of times. Looks like there is another use now. Thanks, Dave

I did the same, but unfortunately with the soft top on, no workie. But, here is a thread with a list of parts you can get at Ace Hardware. Think it was like $15 or less. You really need a couple bolts that use the existing holes in the roll bar, some washers and spacers for the rattle, and then I got plastic wing nuts to more easily remove them.
