Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

I currently have 6100's on the Bronco using the stock springs. I wanted to upgrade the suspension so after a lot of research I decided on this:

Ordered, now I wait...

I just sold my Ram 1500 to buy the Bronco. The Eibach CO are very popular with that group too. I might end up getting them as well.

I've had mine for just over a week. First change is the speakers. I put in two pairs of Audison 4" coax. Sounds much better now. Still planning to do an amp and sub at some point.

Sad that they put in such garbage full range speakers with no tweeters.

I had my eyeball on the 8112 DSA+ that @TK1215 haz but it's waaaaay out of my price range. My bank account would probably call the police on me if I ordered it...

I'll def report back after I get the kit and have it installed. I also have an Icon adjustable rear track bar that I need to get slapped on so I will probably do it at the same time..
If I remember correctly, the icon rear track bar is one of the only/if not the only one that are adjustable while installed on the vehicle.

Well, after having these in the garage for maybe 6 months, finally opened the box and put the Bronco Onboard Door Storage Kit to use.

What prompted me to finally test this out was a recent reality check. I rolled out one evening to meet up with another Bronco buddy for dinner, checking the forecast before I left—it showed a measly 2% chance of rain. Naturally, while I'm out driving, the skies opened up. Luckily, it wasn’t a torrential downpour and didn't do any damage, but it definitely got me thinking. I frequently take this rig 1 to 3 hours away from home. If I got caught out in a real Texas storm that far out with the doors sitting back in my garage, I’d be completely soaked. So, I bought the kit for the ultimate peace of mind.
Here is the good, the bad, and the annoying from my first run:

Ford says, some aftermarket cargo storage things may not be compatible, which is true, had to relocate my roll bar mounted fire extinguisher, and removed a medical kit from the molle panel to get the doors in. I'll find a good spot for that, nice to keep handy if it is ever needed.

Also, because the molle panel uses the same roll bar mounting position as the storage anchor does, I tried an alternate location, but a little too far back. Used the actual molle panel for now, think it is pretty secure, and basically the exact same location their eye hook would go.

The PITA Factors
  • Strap Spaghetti: Look, storing the doors isn't rocket science, but managing this harness system is a massive pain. Getting all the straps straightened out so they aren't twisted by the time you go to cinch them down feels exactly like trying to untangle a plate of spaghetti.
  • The Aftermarket Pocket Squeeze: I upgraded my front doors with aftermarket solid pockets (because let's be honest, the factory saggy nets wear out after 6 months and won't hold a decent-sized drink). If you have these larger pockets, be prepared for a battle. The added bulk makes the storage bags an incredibly tight fit, and it took some effort just to get the zipper over them
  • At the end of the day, it securely holds the front doors on board. If you're traveling far from home and the weather turns sideways, the investment and the initial hassle will absolutely be worth it.

If I remember correctly, the icon rear track bar is one of the only/if not the only one that are adjustable while installed on the vehicle.

Probably because most make a bend out around the differential (for clearance) making it impossible to turn over while connected at both ends. disconnect one end and adjust then reconnect. BUT in reality how often are you doing this? I guess being able to adjust the track bar without disconnection one end (only one bolt and a strap to tighten left to right shift) would be beneficial if you are regularly adjusting ride height. I think there is some benefit to the clearance at the differential cover. You would have to give that up.

Pulled the top at 6am before it cracked 100. Texas July topless has about a three-hour window before you're just sitting in a convection oven at every red light.

That's one of the main reasons I ordered it instead of something a bit cheaper...

The Eibach Coilover 2.0 lift that's replacing my Bilstein 6100 lift was delivered today. I already had the Icon rear adjustable track bar.. It's all getting slapped in next week..

IMG_0103.jpeg

I also ditched the factory muffler that weighs 762 pounds and takes up 1372 cubic feet of space (yes, I exaggerated those # a little) and slapped a muffler delete on it..

Departure angle greatly improved without that whale of a muffler hanging in the way..

IMG_0101.jpeg

And lastly, my son had ordered me a Cold Air Intake for my birthday but it was backordered with no expected delivery date so he cancelled it and got me this. Not a true Cold Air Intake, I know, but this actually fits and is an improvement over stock.

The issue with fitment on many of the the aftermarket Cold Air Intakes is that I have an ARB dual that's mounted right behind the stock intake with almost zero clearance space. If an aftermarket Cold Air Intake is even a few MM different in size, it won't fit unless I want to hack up the ARB mounting bracket..

Not diggin' the muffler delete.. The drone is not bad at highway speed and I don't even hear it but the rumble is very noticeable, and loud, during acceleration..

I might end up going with the Ford Performance Axel Back.. Just waiting to see if Ford offers the 20% off in August for the Broncos birthday.. They've done it every year since the Bronco came back so I am assuming this year will be the same.

Yeah it has a muffler but it's much smaller than the whale sized stock muffler and it would stIll offer better departure angles..

I went with MRT's Elite series. It is suppose to be their "quietest". It has a deeper tone than the stock and it is a little louder. I prefer quiet so I do not scare off the wildlife. BUT it definitely tucks up nice and tight. I am rather pleased.

I went ahead and ordered it.. That thing tucks up and away nicely and it's completely out of the way.. I heard a few sound clips of it that I found online and it's much better sounding than the muffler delete I have on now..

My maIn goal was to ditch that whale sized factory muffler and improve on departure angle. Sound is not all that important to me. Well, other than the muffler delete that was just way to loud on acceleration..

Mucho thanks for the suggestion and for the link!

That's perfect!

Stock whale muffler gone, departure angle greatly improved, slight
rumble, not annoyingly loud on acceleration and no drone at cruising speed.. 👍

I google foo'd and found a 10% off code (Insta10) that knocked it down to $597.94 with free shipping and no sales tax. I am going to call that a massive W....

Thanks again!

May a noob question, but how are you getting the 360 camera to engage at speed? Looks like youre in normal GOAT mode.
