Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Yes, I did consider a transmission skid plate, but the funds just weren't there to splurge. The skids that I bought were from RCI and it looks like their transmission skid would protect a good portion of the crossmembers. I would think you would slide over the crossmembers but I suppose it would be possible to still hit the part that is exposed. I do think the transmission skid plate would be the way to go if money was no object.

I feel you. Same reason why I’m keeping the OEM until I think those need changing. But it appears the gas tank and the t-case are vulnerable depending on what trails one takes.

The first weekend home for my Bronco and I replaced the muffler with Flowmaster high clearance, Adams ceramic graphene coated the entire exterior with 2 coats, installed oem running boards that I found on FB for $100 and installed a hitch for bike racks. We took a run down to Myrtle beach to get some break in miles and really amazed as to how smooth it rides. The 7 speed works really well with the 2.3.

This week is the pinch weld cover, ordered the NAPA 300 cfm air pump for $119 today and trailer wiring from Curt. Love this rig.

Where did you get the Napa pump on sale at today?

Thanks,
Al

If you want the same compressor you can get this one. The NAPA one is hard to get ahold of.

What else? Took it to the hills and lead a small group through some kinda tough stuff. Perfect for the Broncos without steps. Rock sliders got used. Sorry, no good footage of my Bronco, too busy helping the others. :) Bottom three pics are of a woman in our group doing stuff like this for the very first time in her (very precious to her) Bronco. She nailed it. One of the bigger stumps did break her pos stock mud flap. lol. She also handled that like a champ. (On the radio later, "my mudflap is making noise" and laughter)

Finally broke down, purchased, and installed a 10lb. Power Tank with the fire extinguisher bracket. Nice piece of kit. Very high quality and should be for the price.

I just ordered me a pair last week. After the night run beating I gave them at KOH, I broke down and ordered them.

You beat up your badlands huh. What skids would be on your wishlist?

Right now I am gonna install the RCI transmission cross member skids. I will beat up the rest for a while and then I am looking at the RCI, IAG or RockHard skids. But those are in the future.

If your Bronco could only read this, I wouldn’t want to know what it would do to get back at its owner… 🤣🤣🤣

Yep, kids have that endless sense of invincibility. 😅 Kinda miss my own sense of it, too… Let’s see if theBronco brings back a bit of it.😜

Can't really tell by looking at it but finally ditched my plastic bumper with a capable metal one. I am much happier with it

I performed a minor, yet functional mod. I added Grocery Bag Hooks to my cargo compartment to confine those slippery plastic bags in transit. They bolt to the roll bar using the existing Bronco bolts that hold the speakers on both sides.

This was one of my first easy mods. I don't use them nearly as much as I did before I put in the rear enclosure. But I still got alot of use out of them. Perfect for the Bronco Off road backpack too.

Haven’t offroaded yet, still reading up on skids and such and have a question: did you consider installing a transmission skid plate? Would it have protected the crossmembers?
Not to high jack this conversation but this is an inclusive and cost effective solution to protect everything except the gas tank. https://store.arbusa.com/under-vehicle-protection-5480100/?Year=2022&Make=Ford&Model=Bronco
If you're going to do off roading or any sending it I highly recommend underbody armor. So far from sand dunes to rock crawling all the Bronco 6G folks I've seen with ruined days was due to lack of such protection. It might be a good idea to have a helper, but I did this install by myself with just an impact driver and socket. The Bronco is high enough from the factory I was able to just slide underneath and get it done. It's alot cheaper and far less grief then dealing with damage and getting stranded.

Exactly my thoughts about underbody skids. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look it up.

  • My OBX is a 22 and LUX but FWIW mine came with a metal gas tank skid plate and my understanding is all OBX came with them so if that's still the case the ARB set will round things out nicely!

She’s almost dialed in for her big Moab debut in April. I’m heading to the Frost Bite event in Kansas at the end of the month to give her a proper shake out. I’m beyond excited!

What did you do to make that fit? What offset did yo use on the wheels? Lift kit? JKS max clearance kit? Looks great!

I used the Eibach 2” coil lift. Wheels have a -12 offset. They clear the crash bars, but rub on the fender liners. I’m talking with JKS to purchase half the max tire kit since I only need the fender liner brackets and not the frame reinforcement. Stay tuned.
