Went exploring yesterday. Went up Long Canyon, then did the Whitbeck Rock trail, and then found a trail that ended overlooking Zeus and Moses.

OK...so not so much a "did it today," but I did install the Ford Deluxe Security enclosure - albeit purchased through Tuffy for ~$200 less than Ford's accessories site. The guys at Tuffy were great to deal with...customer service was top-notch.

Pros:

• awesome, easy security for your belongings if you have top open and/or doors off
  • the swing tailgate acts as the "door" to the storage area and its lock can be configured in your vehicle's settings to require the key fob (or FordPass app) to unlock it - that is, even with access to the vehicle's interior (lock/unlock buttons on the doors), the tailgate remains locked unless you use your fob/FordPass app.
• very well built, sturdy - likely harder to break into than your average vehicle's trunk
• still affords you access to rear storage tie-downs, underfloor jack/storage area, power point and rear cargo area light
• the lid has four tie-down points as well if you want to strap anything to the top of it
• all walls are MOLLE compatible
• relatively easy install for one person - took me about 1.5-2 hr

Cons:

• not modular or reconfigurable (at least not easily)
  • cannot (easily) remove the wall near the back seat to allow storage/transport of long items (skis, etc) inside the vehicle, so you're locked in (pun intended) to the volume of storage as you see it
  • I haven't tried it yet, but allegedly the top "lid" comes off with two bolts and removing the gas struts if you wanted to transport something "tall" but still within the footprint of the enclosure - think mini-fridge or similar
• The top of the lid is fairly smooth. Anything not strapped down will slide around - hence the diamond-plate rubber mat "upgrade"
• It's not waterproof. This could be a pro or a con depending on your application. If you wanted to use this to contain a dog while driving, it could easily do so while still affording your pet plenty of fresh air.

The diamond-plate mat on top of the lid was a DIY upgrade/add by me. I simply searched for diamond plate rubber mat on Amazon. Found one that was 2'x4', cut it to the dimensions of the top of the lid, and used 3M spray-adhesive to attach it.

In terms of capacity, it's quite significant. The final pic shows everything my family of five schlepped to the beach for a day. It was very nice to know our things were secure when we stopped for dinner on the way home.

Went to the dealer to do the seatbelt recall. Took 10 minutes. I feel so much safer now 🤣🤣🤣

Packing up Nag for a road trip!

I finally installed the K&N cold air intake that has been sitting around for 2 months. Some of those pressure clamps were a bitch to get off the ford piping. It's like ford purposely positioned the clamps in just a way so that I can yell out a phenomenal amount of swears.

Considering that is an HEL, you have not had that very long and yet you have already changed the tires to what look to be KO2s.... And the way the water is beading it has been waxed.... Seems you know what you are doing!

It even looks like you are lined up for a 4th go at it and it looks like you caught it all on video! Well prepared!

At long last I finally got out on the Cape Cod National Seashore for some beach cruising and surfcasting. Drove to Race Point, got my permit, aired down, punched in 4H, let the clutch out and off we went. Phenomenal day, amazing place. No issues with soft sand or the dune climbs on the trail to the beach. We drove far enough to be totally isolated, except for a bunch of seals. Even a caught a couple blues (quickly released). 4x4 beach access for fishing is what I wanted to do from day 1 with my Bronco, and I could not be happier. There will be lot’s more to come but a great start. No doubt the outer banks , Jersey shore, Long Island are all in play. May not be the most technical off-roading out there but that doesn’t matter. In my mind it’s all about access.

Took off the full top for first time.
