Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Today I installed a remote kill switch on my Bronco to stop my key Fob signal from getting hacked. So far it works great. It was $40 on Amazon. Has anyone one else done this?

Isn’t it a Faraday pouch to put your key fob inside? What is a kill switch?

Got the new ARB single compressor installed. Not wired yet, nor the manifold mounted. Getting the locker installed tomorrow, so wanted to get at least this done first.

Nice and clean-looking installation. Can't beat the convenience, for sure!
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Installed that amazon receiver hitch. Wow, cant believe that used to hold up the bronco deliveries. Anyway, now I can drag stuff around and if I wanted, add a platform.

Did the first gear oil change after breaking in the new gears and locker. Also installed the ARB differential cover.

That wasn't what was holding things up. it was the 7-pin harness/chips that are integrated into the Bronco's electronics that were holding things up. I hear that installing an aftermarket 7-pin isn't a simple task...

yeah...I wouldnt want the 7 pin on the tow capacity of the bronco. If I needed trailer brakes, would use the f150. I only plan to drag the trailer around the yard to mow and to use as cargo platform. The delay was more than the hitch for sure.

Went exploring yesterday. Went up Long Canyon, then did the Whitbeck Rock trail, and then found a trail that ended overlooking Zeus and Moses.

Got the Curt Hitch receiver and 4-pin wiring harness installed...as well as the IAG soft top gas struts. Very happy with all of them.

For Curt, I used the 13493 hitch, the 56468 wiring harness, and the 58300 4-pin plug mounting bracket (you have to provide your own self-tappers). For my Badlands w/OEM wheels/tires, the Curt 45791 8" hitch extender clears the spare when mounting a bike rack, tray/shelf and or trailer tongue/hitch.

Prior to this weekend I had exactly zero experience with automotive electrical work. You don't need any to install the wiring harness. Be handy with a screwdriver and ratchet. Also, be able/comfortable sliding underneath your truck (unless you have access to a lift) to route the power wire. The install itself was very easy/straightforward with the instructional video from Curt. Routing the power wire in a way that avoided moving parts and heat just required a little poking/prodding and planning. All-in-all, I think it took me two hours? Maybe a little longer. But I was very deliberate and intentional. Pulled the wire back 5-6' a few times after finding what I felt was a better route. If you're leery/unsure at all about electrical work - as I was - don't be. "Electrical" is unplugging/re-plugging the taillight wiring harnesses with the Curt adapters, removing paint to screw a self-tapper through a ground ring, crimping the power wire a few times and terminating the fuse line to a positive battery terminal. Very straightforward. Very not difficult.

For less than $200 and a couple hours of my time, I'm now set to tow. Pretty stoked as I've rented a teardrop to take up to NH with me for Off Roadeo next month.

Met up with the Boise Bronco club at Wilson Creek. Met some great people and saw some cool rigs. Had a great time and the ARB locker worked flawlessly. I really love my crawler gear...

I'm not trying to second guess you. The first curt harness I put in worked fine until night with trailer going cross country, passed on brakes and turned on turn signal and it burned out. I was not aware that their are a light duty harness that was maybe 4 amps and a heavy duty unit that was more. Just saying. I had to unwire the harness at 10pm on the side of the road

whoa. good lookin out, thank you! hopefully that won't happen. the power line on mine is 10 gauge. do you remember what yours was (or is)? i would hope that would be more than sufficient for a couple lights?

Wasn't wiring but the module inself. Iv since gotten the larger amp module. I'm sure you chose the correct model. It was unclear on curt websight which one I needed and I chose poorly

10 gauge wire is fine. The issue with module is load. Trailer lights, turn signals and brake lights on bronco and trailer as well as clear marker lights is quite the load. Smaller module worked fine until everything on at same time
