Anyone see the Jeep commercial with the Bronco. Some folks are talking how Jeep did bronco dirty but I saw it as hey we inspired people to make a (possibly better) adventure vehicle. And Ford says they talked to Jeep folks to find out what was the best parts of Jeep and what they need to fix. Also Han Solo says pick the vehicle that makes you happy. And as I drive down the highway on a long road trip to a place to go wheeling I am happy with my Glades. Bronco is not for everyone but it is for anyone.

Sounds like you have a dud.

When dealers are unhelpful, going to corporate is the only solution.

Had to do that with a prior vehicle that was having paint issues - eventually I got it sorted out.

Corporate? They care less than the dealers. Gotta pick your battles. I could probably develop, and implement a fix before I got to speak with someone who has any power to get an engineer to even understand the issue. It’s a minute issue that is just another reason why this will be my last Ford.

Who's your daddy?

Does any manual car have remote start?

Not from the factory. Its so simple its crazy why they don't do it.But to get remote start from anyone requires higher trim levels and more expensive auto box and the option itself in many cases. Its all about money.

I managed to get my front bumper, hood, and tailgate repainted by the fine folks at FCA.

Going through the dealer didn’t get the job done - I went through corporate.

I can't catch a break.

Another day, another need to reprogram a window. Maybe I should take my Bronco to the dealer EVERY TIME this happens to stop people who gas light me that the issue isn’t happening.

If you have a better window design that will help sell more Broncos, develop it for Ford and they'll pay you for it.

A better window design has already been developed for decades. You can find it on a Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 Bronco along with all Bronco sports, every generation of Ford F150’s and every single Ranger.

A framed window is already solved. Ford broke it with the Bronco.

It’s because some people leave their cars in gear in certain situations.

I’ve had a car where you can start it without the clutch pushed in. Frankly, requiring the clutch to be pushed in is a major safety improvement.

I remember when they started that.Farm tractors had neutral start for 40+ years prior.

Probably a good thing given that back in the day it wasn’t unheard of to have a kid running the tractor.

Back in the day (1990) I was a Porter for the local Mitsubishi dealership and the manual pickup trucks you could start in gear. It actually saved me once the vehicles from factory came with very little fuel and they moved the vehicles quite a bit on their trip over seas. One day I had to get fuel for a truck that just came off the transport and about 1/2 way to the gas station on a very busy highway access road she ran out of gas. Quick thinking I used the starter to drive the truck over the curb and out of traffic. Then had to walk back to the dealership to get a gas can. This was before cell phones.

You got started late in life.

I had an uncle who wasn’t even 10 before he was driving a tractor.

By 12 he was driving cars.

Finally got his license at 18.

Had this issue to 3 different dealers. When I took it into my own hands. Changed the door latch. The switch that controls the window drop is in the latch. It’s a piece of crap micro switch. I bet the service manager the cost of the part. It fixed it they paid for the latch.

In one of my novels, a Utah farm girl is in Boston dating a Harvard guy who's drunk. They arrive at his Landrover Defender 210--3 sticks. He's legless.

"Give me the keys," she asks. "I'm driving."
"You can't drive this. It's a schtick stiff."
"No, Lars. I'm driving. The keys, please."
" I said I gotta drive," he insisted. "It's a schift stiff."
"Lars, I was driving tractors when I was five. I'm driving!"

@Jakob1972: In the backstory, as a little girl, she got on a tractor and turned the key when it was in gear. The thing took off, tearing up the ground in circles. Her mother freaked out, but her father jumped on the back and turned it off. Instead of punishing her, he taught her to drive it.

My first experience behind the wheel was Ford N-series tractor. I bought a farm with my son in Massachusetts, and behold, a barn find--a 1945 N-series tractor, which we hope to restore.

Speaking of three sticks, my first offroading experience was in International Scouts, three sticks, in the Sonora Desert east of Tucson.

My first was a 1975 JD 4430 I was five and we were just playing on it. We had cotton and sugar cane fields surrounding our house as a kid. And the farmer would park his tractor near our house.
Now I live on a ranch and have a 1988 JD 2155 and a 1994 JD 750. Not a John Deere guy really it just happened that way. Although we did trade a 2000 Kubota L3010 for the 750 about 15 years ago.

Her (eventual) love interest grew up a social isolate in a junk yard with an alcoholic mother. Lacking friends, he plays by himself and becomes a top-notch self-taught mechanic. Here's how I describe him"

"At ten and eleven, he started tearing apart trucks, cars, and farm machinery.
At eleven and twelve, he put them back together.
And at twelve and thirteen, he made them run.

And run they did! Nobody patrols those gravel back roads of Box Elder County or checks on an under-age driver with no license plates, and he spent many a day and plenty of miles exploring the vast empty land of northern Utah, alone and at one with the wilderness..."

His problem: he fell in love with a Mormon princess. For her, it was horses. For him, horsepower.

Spent a little time yesterday and came up with a $10 fix. Bought some 1/4 self adhesive neoprene “D” seal. Put it in behind the split seal at the back of the window. Took it for a test ride. Problem solved. Ford really couldn’t do this?

They put in half an engine?

We had a wagon we used for a shop truck, 325,000 miles when it was junked. The trick to Pintos was get a wagon with a 4 spd, then you had something usable.
