Versatility: The 4-door Bronco has ample space for passengers and cargo, making it an ideal vehicle for a variety of activities, including off-roading, camping, and road trips.

Off-road capabilities: With its robust 4x4 system, solid axles, and electronic locking differentials, the Bronco is built for serious off-road adventures.

Advanced technology: The Bronco boasts advanced features such as the available 12-inch touchscreen display, 360-degree camera system, and trail-mapping software to enhance the driving experience.

Customization options: The 4-door Bronco offers a wide range of customizable features, including various roof configurations, door options, and exterior styling packages, allowing buyers to create a unique vehicle that fits their specific needs and preferences.

Iconic design: The Bronco's classic design, with its bold grille and boxy shape, pays homage to the original 1960s Bronco and makes it instantly recognizable on the road.

The main advantage of a 4 dr is that you have more room for your groceries. Real men drive 2 dr's...
Old men drive 4 doors because none of their friends can get in the back of a 2 door.

Lifestyle? is it a Harley now...
Ford is so insecure that the moredoor wouldn't be taken seriously that they started these offroad schools to try to convince people that you can offroad in a mall crawler.
Ford has 6 other moredoor suvs for people to buy, they didn't need to dilute the Bronco name with a moredoor like Jeep did with the Wrangler. It was done out of whoreish greed, not anything else.
Its as bad as them using the Mach name on an ev toy, they should've called it Fairmont or Granada or some other name that couldn't have its reputation made worse.
Bring a moredoor to the cow trails and logging roads we have here, while your are wedged between oak trees I'll be laughing.
That is the first time I have seen anyone use the word whorish here at BN. It did give me a chuckle because I am trying to picture just what that kind of greed is that you are talking about. It is a definite visual.

Brands are important. They give folks that don't necessarily have an identity a chance to be part of something bigger. Sports teams, Universities, clothing lines etc...
We just see things a bit different is all.

I don't drink, if I did it wouldn't be bud.Thats your brand.
I could explain whorish to you but I can't understand it for you.Fords motivation to produce a four door was only for profit, to compete with Jeep, wasn't to supply the enthusiast with a vehicle.

I agree Ford’s motivation is profit, as that’s why corporations exist.

While the company’s main motivation is profit, Ford has taken the mostly unusual step of making a vehicle that is relatively easy to modify and “upgrade”, which supports the enthusiast and third party mod companies

So, you've stated numerous times the 4-door Bronco was offered purely for "greed" and "only for profit". Well thank the Lord, a car company manufacturing and selling vehicles for profit. What the hell else is Ford supposed to do? Lol.

I think one could make the opposite argument in 1966 with the Bronco not released as a 4-door rather than just a 2-door (wagon, pickup, and open cab). Ford's 1966 lineup was rife with 2-door vehicles, Mustang, Thunderbird, Galaxy 500, Falcon, Fairlane, and LTD. I'd bet a 4-Door Bronco in 1966 would have sold like hot cakes and the 2-door-only model actually limited its desirability.

It's a different automotive environment in 2023 than 1966, 4-door SUVs have replaced the sedan and wagon in every manufacturer's lineup. 4-door SUVs are very practical, which is why they proliferate the industry. Even with six other 4-door SUVs in its 2023 lineup (one being an EV), it makes complete sense for Ford to offer the Bronco in both 2-door and 4-door configurations. Offering a 4-door takes away none of the Bronco's 2-door originality since Ford offers the 2-door nor does a 4-door model take away any from the Bronco being an ORV enthusiast model.

It's hard to understand why this would be offensive to anyone.

Well this is a spirited discussion!

The advantage of the 4 door is that it allows those of you who love the 2 door so much the opportunity to have them.

If the Bronco was a 2 door only option it would have limited reach, and probably be a short-lived proposition like the reincarnation of Toyota's FJ several years back. The take rate has always been significantly higher with the 4 door from day1 of the launch.

Bronco is more than a vehicle. Ford is taking the name and associating a certain type of lifestyle with it. The Bronco Sport is a prime example. It is built on the C2 platform (Maverick, Edge, Focus etc..) Maybe those customers can't afford a Bronco, but driving the Sport shows who they are and what they value.

If it has Bronco on it, you will get a thumbs up out of me. Doors and trim aren't really what is important.
It means you are Ford folk and connect with the brand history, which includes many iconic vehicles (and the godawful dual clutch of my old 2017 Focus!!).

This is what I see.

I guess I am lucky that I don't have many friends. 😁 I do drive almost 500 miles a week and the strange thing is, most cars I see only have one person in them.
P.S. I do have an explorer in case my number of friends grows.......

Most gear on a Bronco only gets used every so often. Like lockers, winches, light bars, removable roofs panels, GMRS radios, recovery gear, jacks, and spare tires, why should doors be any different. I may not always use or need the extra doors but when I do I am sure glad I have them. 😂

So the more I think about it, having just bought a $40K Bronco that I intend to keep for the next 15 years, I really think the plan for the manufacturer of my Bronco NOT to make a profit IS in my best interests...

Ford had me at "manual transmission".

If they put a manual in the G6 Ranger, I'm buying one. Come on @Ford Motor Company, doooo iiiittt. You guys should have lobbied the last Administration to change the crash test rules to adopt computerized crash testing and drop the silliness of crash testing every engine/transmission configuration. We customers want more model diversification, not less.
