Scotland has cut down 16 MILLION trees to make room for wind farms. Now let me get this straight. "Carbon" is the "global warming" boogey man, right? And plants (like trees?) through photosynthesis take Carbon Dioxide (bad), and turn it into Oxygen (good). So that means: less CO2 being eliminated from the atmosphere.
Oh, I know--"Science!" Can't argue with "Science," now can we?

The urban coastal Progressives (our self-proclaimed betters) were appalled at the sentiments expressed in the hit country song, "Don't Try That In a Small Town," deeming it racist--their catch-all derogatory term for conservative. Kuralt's observation is the reality counterpoint to that elitist misconception, which I consider a deliberate, conscious ignorance. "Conscious?" Unconscionable, I daresay.

Exploring the remote west-central Utah desert--solo--I was helped with three flat tires (yeah, OEM Goodyears) and pulled out of the muck at Wilson Hot Springs, all by rural locals.

"A Few Good Men" demonstrates how Hollywood smears conservatives, traditional values, patriotism, and the stalwart institutions we depend on: in this case, the Marine Corps.

Nicholson's character, Col Jessup, delivered a memorable line--one we should revere and esteem, had it been uttered by an honorable and brave man. But Col. Jessup was not one: he was a hypocrite and a liar ("you want the truth?") who hid behind his USMC credentials. Thus, the sentiment (valid if uttered by an honorable man) is rendered hollow, even fraudulent, and is thus negated.

Dazzled by the glamor of Tom Cruise's character and character journey, they slipped the smear right under our nose and down our throats.

Consider that the patriotic characters in M.A.S.H. (Col. Burns & Major Burns) were cowards, bullies, hypocrites, and unfaithful to their stateside spouses and moral codes. Archie Bunker was funny--but the humor smoothed out the writers' contempt for the conservative values he espoused. "Meathead" (the ultra-liberal Rob Reiner) usually got the better of him, "proving" to us that his beliefs were sabotaged by his ignorance, superficiality, lack of logic, and dysfunctional psychology. And Hollywood just loves to portray Christian clergy as hypocrites or otherwise failed, dysfunctional characters.

That character may have not been honorable but the quote does have meaning regardless. Many people see what is happening in our lives and choose not to believe and look the other way hoping it won’t be there when they look back. “ Let someone else deal with it” is what i hear all the time. So Mr Boston, when is someone going to deal with it? A bandaid on a bullet hole does nothing but give a false since of security as do the lies by dishonest men in the daily lifes of Americans. The truth is a must so one can make their own decisions but so many lies have been feed to Americans for so long most will believe whatever is tossed on their plates, i.e. the most recent pandemic…. But instead of doing research and trying to become informed, they trust bookface and any other SM platform that fits their narrative. You say Col. Jessup was not honorable for protecting this country and for being a liar…. How about all the misleading info available today? One was a movie and one is real life. The truth offends, always has and always will. When did we become a society of such wimps where a little criticism left a blood smear. Peace be with you and your family! 🐎
