Manufacturers build vehicles according to what dealers want to sell. Dealers are scumbags and don't represent buyers interests only their own wallet.

I got an invite to test drive last week from one of the dealers I had a reservation with. Told them I wanted to test drive a manual ,the little girl who contacted me claimed they didn't have any on the lot, I went there before answering the email and saw a white more door manual on the lot. Even when they have them they don't want to sell them.
just checked it still along with the over priced Craptor and Neverglades.
I'd buy it but its a more door.

btw you'll never know what I own, its none of your business

Its going to need a WAY tougher transmission and especially clutch. JMO. Ford knows it and they aren't interested in engineering one just for the small percentage of customers (in their mind) that would order/buy one. Lets be honest at least 50% more like 80% of Broncos never see any serious offroading.

Its a global market not just North America. Just because some people in the US can't drive doesn't mean the rest of the world can't.
According to a study by Edmunds, more than 80% of cars sold in Europe have a manual transmission.
It wouldn't just be for a small market in the US.

The number of mallcrawlers is greater than 80% I guarantee.

The bigger issue is dealing with market saturation in North America, the FOMO and keeping up with the joness crowd is done buying Broncos. One dealer here has no less than 16 broncos on the lot,With V-8 4X4 F150s selling for less than Broncos they are going to be holding them for a long time.

I can count on my hand the amount of people in my circle who could drive my car without issue.

I also remember when all the cool cars were manual only, you had to learn if you wanted to drive a Viper someday
It's crazy how (relatively) cheap you can get a Viper these days. Equally crazy is how useless the cars are other then a short trip, sunny day, occasional driver. 1st gens didn't even have opening windows. The kind of things that don't matter when it's just a poster on your wall filling our heads with dreams. Still hasn't stopped me from seriously considering an early RT/10 several times.

The problem us consumers don't want enthusiasts to have they want, they want everyone to have the same thing. No choice no individuality. They have a word for that.

Non steal-able and Can't text and drive kinda' ride ..
In last five years we taught not one but both our under 23 year old kid-dults .. Best thing ever!

Plus kids get fun bragging rights as well .. as for us -- None of their peers -- heck peers parents or teachers can drive a manual.. Have fun!
There is a certain level of satisfaction and achievement in balancing a steering wheel,a Hurst short throw and a coffee with 2 hands. The extra pull with each gear shift is also a thing of beauty. Too bad traffic just turns it into dancing on the clutch and going back and forth between 1st and neutral. But open road is a beautiful thing with a manual. Red light to red light and freeway on ramps too.

Not everyone is unfortunate to live in areas of stop and go traffic.Over 46 million people live in rural areas.

That's absolutely a fair point. I'm just pointing out from my perspective that I love manuals but the reasons why MY current vehicle was always going to be an auto. I even spoke with Ford in an attempt to get a Bullitt or GT350 with an auto since that's what I really wanted but no go. Fortunately the retro Bronco happened and here I am.

It truly is unfortunate. The West coast is unbeatable but we just need all the people and politicians to go away!!

That's so cool! I always wanted to learn and finally figured I wouldn't until I had to, so many years ago when my auto equipped Shelby got t-boned and totalled I made sure to replace it with a manual car. I taught myself as well as my wife and my son on that car. (With no gear grinding from any of us 😅) Now my son almost refuses to own an auto. Though my wife didn't like driving the Shelby any more after peeling out by simply releasing the clutch quickly and not pressing the gas. It's too bad the new "Shelby" SVT cars are all auto and waaaay overpriced.

Worst I deal with is 2-3 mins a typical week, so few times I deal with real traffic isnt bad considering its not consistent

Plenty of countries where auto is a luxury and not standard, pun intended.

Went to Italy 7yrs ago, I wound up driving the VW Van because it was stick and I was basically the only one who knew what to do.

Again, goes to your point of dealers just wanting a quick sale, demand be damned

My commute has always been easy, right now once I'm on the state 2 lane I don't shift until I'm at work if I make both lights, usually I do or might hit one red.During the summer my commute is about 7 minutes, when school is in, its takes a lot longer due to unnecessary extra traffic and dopes driving 5 mph under the limit

I had good luck with Vdubs, got a job while on a test drive in a manual GLI

Modern VW’s are different, anything past a mk7 gti/R I wont look at, period.

As for Italy, its fascinating, I just understand shit, my Dad meanwhile in was born there and speaks fluently
