Is There Any Capable Bumper Feedback?

I haven't found much information on the "Capable Bumper" that is standard on the 2022 Badlands and Black Diamond trims besides being steel and having fog lights. Has anyone received their Bronco with this bumper installed, and what do you think of it? Does it appear to be any kind of rugged? Are the fog lights very bright, etc?

Thanks!

Following. Interested to see what feedback anybody might have...although, I guess it may be some time before we hear from in-person experience.
I would think it should hold up fairly well / be rugged, though, as I believe it's supposed to be powder-coated steel...is that the case?

From what I've read and seen it looks like there are recovery hooks, and it's powder coated steel. I like the mod bumper better, but wanted the factory fog switch so went the cheaper route. Still want to see what options people come up with for moving the license plate on this bumper

I went the stock route also for my Wildtrak and left off any steps/rails. I wanted to keep the fog lights and I expect the AM community to have much better offerings for bumpers and steps/rails. Like Rockslide Engineering slide/step (no not a bumper but similar topic). I am still waiting for my build date and shopping every option I can find. No rush.

I’m also interested in a solution for the license plate. Haven’t seen any aftermarket solutions yet.

I initially had the modular upgrade and took it off just before it got scheduled to build. I figured I will go to an aftermarket solution so there was no need to spend the extra on the optional bumper. There just hasn't been much talk at all about this bumper, and what I found was vague and sometimes wrong.

Isn't it standard on the Wildtrak too? On B&P it looks the same as the BL and BD.

The Wildtrak gets the standard plastic bumper. Only the Badlands and Black Diamond come with metal bumpers in '22.

Have you tried build and price since they put the Wildtrak back on there? It's definitely showing the same bumper as BL and BD. Is the picture wrong? Or did you get the information from somewhere reputable? Genuinely curious as I have a WT on order and I'm considering dropping my HD Mod bumper.

Notice it says standard on Black Diamond and Badlands. Available on all other Bronco series.

The same picture is on the Wildtrak build details.

That's weird for them to explain it that way but show it on the Wildtrak B&P with no option to add it, only the HD Mod bumper.

Yep, there is certainly some mystery surrounding this bumper.

ahhh... the bumper issue. This topic is near and dear to my heart. Lux package here and the ford winch bumper is non compatible because it blocks the ACC, Camera and parking sensors. Kind of annoying really. I'm removing the stock modular bumper and installing an aftermarket from @Lifestyle Offroad. 4-6 weeks to deliver and all of the ford lux stuff should work perfectly. Im pretty excited and will of course have pics when installed.

I have the capable on mine as well. Having factory fog lights is a big pro to me. Waiting to see what the aftermarket companies bring to the table for an upgraded winch capable/ Lux compatible front bumper. I’m a little doubtful lately getting a better understanding of the intake for the turbos. Not sure how we are going to put a winch without blocking the intake. Simple solution I’ve seen so far is to relocate it. Of what I have read it’s going to take a good amount of work to relocate, which means plenty of money. Not sure if it’s worth it or not. But this is definitely going to be an issue with these types of vehicles having the turbo engines in comparison to the old gas guzzlers. Then there is the issue of getting all the Lux sensors, camera and other high tech stuff to work with the new bumper and winch, which brings a bunch of other issues. Hopefully we see solutions in the near future. But for now I’m fine with the capable bumper which includes the main necessities. Just no winch.

For those newer to BN, we ran this article with fact-check from Ford in August: Ford Bronco Capable Bumper Joins Options for 2022. Gives an at-a-glance look at bumpers, materials, and the trim series they come on. May be helpful, and it will be cool to hear an owner review from you @BTilbury!

Thank you for posting that. I wish Ford would get it together with the B&P and not show it on the Wildtrak!

Yeah the "explore Bronco" section is a mix of 2021 and 2022 features. I really thought the Wildtrak got he capable bumper. Not sure now. UGH. Either way I'll stay stock and wait for AM goodies.

I orderd:Badlands-2dr-Mic-lux-Squatched-2.7 in carbon grey with bullbar feb 3rd 2021 (But when I had to reorder for 2022)
The capable bumper was standard from the previous yr modular bumper.and it wouldnt give me bullbar i wanted so the dealer looked into why that was?and what I did find out is if you orderd with bullbar?.the capable bumper doesn't support that option.you can only get Bullbar on modular bumper upgrade.and now that I had to reorder I was charged for modular 2022 bumper upgrade to keep the bullbar.from my previous yr order 2/3/2021.My updated 2022 order i dropped tow pkg and the cyber orange..

Thanks Laura. That chart makes it seem like the Wildtrak gets the old plastic bumper. It's odd there's no option to upgrade to capable on B&P. Thank goodness for AM community.

Unfortunately, Capable can only come standard (on Black Diamond and Badlands); it can't come as an upgrade on anything. The only bumper upgrade that can be done for any trim is to move to the Heavy-Duty Modular. Aftermarket will be a route for many, for sure.
