Implosion at ADV Fiberglass - No more hard tops

Well... looks like end of the road for the ADV Fiberglass hard top customers. And honestly, it may be a business-ending event for ADV Fiberglass themselves. Such a shame because I personally thought their hardtop always looked like the highest quality aftermarket top.

Hopefully most of the ADV Fiberglass customers got out already, cause at this point it seems like the only option is chargebacks or legal action.

TL;DR— ADV Fiberglass partnered with APG to manufacture the hard tops in China. Millions of dollars later and there is nothing to show for it except a lawsuit. Customers will not be receiving a refund.

-----------

Hey [Customer].
I am reaching out with an update on your Bronco Hardtop orders.
First, I wanted to genuinely thank you all for your patience and understanding as we have navigated delays and revisions that pushed the availability of this product further out than we ever expected, and I know how frustrating that has been, for you, and for us, as we have been eager to get your order to you.
Unfortunately, ADV Fiberglass has come to realize that our business was targeted and has fallen victim to a business manufacturing and production operation carried out by Automotive Performance Group, APG, in Garden Grove, CA, our business associate on this project. APG has been misleading us and engaging in deceptive, illegal, and unethical business practices – effectively feeding us inaccurate timelines, breaking promises, continuously requesting more money, and even going as far as filing a patent (solely in his name) for a product we, collectively designed and paid for under their own name. After finally discovering the truth, we realized that this was not the honest partner we thought we were working with.
Without any other avenues to pursue, and in an effort to seek justice for you and our company, we are currently in the process of pursuing legal action.
I am sorry to tell you that due to this, the hardtops ordered will not be delivered, and we have removed them as a product offering on our site.
I want to assure you that all the money that you paid toward this product to Advanced Fiberglass Concepts went exactly where we said it would, to the manufacturing and creation of this hardtop. Unfortunately, we trusted the wrong person and we are so sorry for this regrettable mistake. At ADV, we never take your business for granted and it’s devastating that ADV has fallen victim to an operation of this size.

Since learning of APG’s deception, we have also exhausted every possible option to try and manufacture in-house and deliver this product to you without APG’s involvement. However, right now, there is no avenue for us to take to fulfill these orders due to the pending patent that APG filed behind our back, without our business name included, that covered the bolt-together, slant back design. The patent, unfortunately, prohibits us from manufacturing our own design at our ADV facilities.
We are so sorry that this has happened, and we are extremely disappointed that we were not able to deliver on this for you.
If you purchased a hardtop, you may try to contact your credit card company to see if they are able to assist. Unfortunately, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts is unable to directly assist. Again, we are so sorry that this has happened, and we will be working tirelessly on our end to pursue justice against this individual and APG. We have attached a copy of the legal complaint to show how seriously we are taking this.
In the meantime, if you have any questions please reach out to – [email protected]
Please find a copy of the legal complaint against APG for your reference (Link For Document).

And -----> As I predicted above, these thieves / scammers filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy..

https://www.inforuptcy.com/browse-f.../bankruptcy-case-advanced-fiberglass-concepts

Op.... came here to say this, but you beat me to it!!

It MIGHT be some sort of legal trick?? I'm not a lawyer by any stretch, it seems if you file for bankruptcy any lawsuits that have been filed again ADV Fiberglass by customers basically get put on hold until the bankruptcy is resolved.

The first hearing for the original lawsuit seems to be later this month. So yeah... wondering if it's legal trickery rather than actual insolvency.

They filed for chapter 7 which is liquidation, so to speak.. Any assets they have that the court can take will be sold to satisfy their debts..

In California, civil lawsuits get an automatic stay.. The trustee can allow them to continue but IMO, it's unlikely...

TLDR: Everyone who got scammed will still end up getting scammed when all is said and done..

My question is: What will the name of the new company they form be and how deep will they hide the previous ties... I bet they form a new group, buy up all the assets being sold by the court for pennies on the dollar and start right back up under a different name.

As one of the 1200 that fell into this scheme, I received a letter in the mail yesterday from the United States Bankruptcy Council Central District of California notifying me of a Notice of Possible Dividend And Order Fixing Time to File Claims. This letter has the debtor(s) information (Advanced Fiberglass Concepts), EIN #, Bankruptcy No, Chapter 7 dated October 20, 2025 signed by Kathleen J. Campbell Clerk of Court. While I'd like to be hopeful, I'm not holding my breath I will ever see any money returned to me

Good to see they are making a move, even though it involves chapter 7. Fingers crossed for you and the others.
