Just saw a member of B6G took delivery of a 2023 Azure Gray Bronco.

Thread for reference

Personally I'd be a little miffed paying a premium for that color and have it pretty much look like Area 51

Still don’t understand why they would have both A51 and Azure Gray. They did the same thing with Rapid Red / Race Red on the 2021MY, and I didn’t understand it back the either. In this case it’s almost worse though since there is an up-charge attached to Azure Gray.

But, ignoring that whole thing... it works pretty well with the dark gray color of the MIC grille/fenders/etc. Don’t think it would look good with black painted components they have on the Outer Banks and Wildtrak though.

Overall I’d have to see one in person and in sunlight, but initial reaction is, “It’s good, just not $1000-upcharge good.”

Still don't understand why three model years in and they have only given us one true fun color. Cyber Orange. Yeah Code Orange is cool. But it comes at a price. I hate to sound like a broken record. But the Bronco is screaming for some of the cool colors that Jeep offers. Even that Ford offers on the Mustang. But they keep giving us boring luxury SUV and sedan colors. I know there will always be a market for"safe" colors. But there's plenty of room, and the demand, for in your face bold colors.

Bigger picture.
They are already delivering MY23 when there are still MY22 in production?

BTW- I see the AG as a more purple tint than the A51 but I am RG color blind so...

2023 production started the first week of November I believe.

AG is a tri-coat like the many seen whites e.g. White Sand, Platinum White, Star White along the way on various Ford models. The tri-coat has more labor/time involved at the factory which purportedly factors in to the extra $$$$ to get it. Most of the tri-coat colors I have had and seen do not photograph well to "show off" their deep metallic glow--I suspect AG looks a helluva lot better in person than via a photo and lighting sets them off even more in person.

One thing to consider with any tri-coat or tinted clearcoat color is they are much more expensive to repair and very hard to touch-up and blend.

We get to blame our fellow Bronco owners for that.

Area 51, Cactus Gray, and Carbonized Gray were the three most popular colors. So I'm sure Ford was like "hey we saw you liked Area 51, how about we give you another color that is like Area 51!"

I was one of those who bought a Cactus Gray, so you can include me in your blaming. I'd like to say it is not a boring color... but... compared to Cyber Orange it's pretty boring.

Close up of AGM. I took this earlier today in direct sunlight. An A51 was nearby and looked very similar, I almost questioned the window sticker because of the similarity. Both images of AGM.

Eh... meh.... eh.... bleh.

You can tell it has a third coat for sure—definitely different than Area 51. Just not sure I'd pay $1000 for it though. Tri-coats on warmer colors looks awesome. Tri-coats on cooler colors... tough sell for me.

Thanks for the pics!!

I still blame Ford. They could have given better choices. Cactus gray and Area 51 were so popular because they were new. Now they have spread it out over many different models. That's what they do. Gray will always be a staple. Jeep has been using granite crystal for many years now and it's still very popular.

Ford has actually done some interesting colors on not so interesting vehicles that would look good on the Bronco.

Another boring Ford 2023 Bronco color.

I think absolute worst color is cactus gray. It is, strangely, very popular.

Further evidence the color people have no idea what color colors actually are...

Cyber Orange...yellow
Code orange...red
Azure Grey=A51=blue
2024 exclusive color - "Purple Metallic". Everybody who doesn't work in Ford's color department, "um, isn't that just Iconic Silver?"

I just received Azure Gray Metallic Badlands the day after Christmas! Here it is in some cloudy AZ sun. I really like the color. It has more depth than Area 51.20230102_112931.jpg

Love it. I ordered the exact same build and color. Build date of 1/23/23 so getting close. Probably be pushed back a couple of weeks which is fine. Waited two years but now that I got a vin it is exciting again.
