NOTICE:
Some areas contain Bronco Easter Eggs that have been posted…..

Turn Around, if you don’t want them Found!!!

We all know some of the little secrets that the Bronco holds….
Most of us know where the different Easter Eggs are located throughout the Bronco, most of us know that when unlocking our Broncos and when you want to open the windows at the same time, to push the unlock button again but hold it this time for 3 to 5 seconds and it will roll all the windows down.

EDITED:
I believe you must have Mid Package or higher for the windows to roll down with key fob, not confirmed yet!!!

Another secret that probably not as many know like the windows rolling down, is when your Key Fob has a dead battery and you use your key that’s within the key fob to get inside the Bronco, “well how do you start it” simple, pull all the junk out of your center arm console and remove the rubber bottom, there you will notice an area where your Key Fob will lay inside the bottom of the console, just place your key there and your vehicle will start…..
Finally the one I discovered by accident…..
I have not seen this anywhere so far on Bronco Nation about this little discovery that I found purely by accident.
While wiping down the interior of my Bronco after a very dusty Drummond Island trip, I accidentally pushed the Volume Button on the Radio, long and behold the Radio turned on and this was without my key fob with me.
I have always during the summer went out to my Bronco for lunch to listen to the radio, I have always just pushed the start button once, turned off my lights, and left it on that way so I can listen for the half hour that it stays on.
We all know if you turn it off with the doors closed the radio will stay on (preset amount) 10 minutes and then goes out, and if your doors are open it will shut off instantly.
Now without hitting anything, other than unlocking your doors, jump in with or without the doors open and just hit the power button on the radios volume control, only the radio and the infotainment center turns on and I believe it stays on for approximately 20 minutes.
I am not sure if there’s a preset time that can be adjusted or not, I haven’t seen anything yet in the infotainment center, plus you can also turn off the infotainment screen at any time, so this will leave you with little power being consumed while your listening to the radio.
This especially works well when your significant other is being dropped off at a grocery store and you’re waiting to pick them up, you can listen to the radio for a longer set time, just by hitting the power button on the radio.
Maybe everyone knows about this, “but I didn’t, and I thought it was something worth sharing with everyone.”

Well now it’s your turn!
Has anybody else discovered anything that may, or may not be new to all of us, or even something that you haven’t seen before, but you think everyone has, so you don’t post it!!!
Because I guarantee there are some of us out there that don’t know about the couple of gems I’ve posted, and they’re just finding out about it now…..

I have used mine more than once! Even at home if the top is off, it’s pretty convenient and I haven’t noticed any paint chips yet. Oh and there is a little compartment below that the caps fall right into 👍

All the previous Gen Broncos had a built in bottle opener. The seat belt latch in the older FoMoCos was the perfect size. Until they changed from push button seatbelts.

Discovered this by accident!
“We’ll sort of”

Early to Mid February we were doing some winter off-roading with a few Bronco Nation Members on a fairly easy trail on the West side of the State, and about a week after that, I decided to add mud flaps to the front of my Bronco.
While adding my front mud Flaps I noticed on the driver’s side there was some grease sprayed around in the wheel well and on some of the suspension parts, keep in mind I just got done doing some off-roading the week before.
Upon further investigation, I noticed a little hole in the CV Joint boot housing, this is something that needed fixing right away.

***The fix for the hole in the CV Joint boot worked very well for me!!!

What I did was buy a bike tire patch kit from any store that sells tires or bikes, and from an automotive store I bought Black Permatex form a gasket sealer, and a tube of CV Joint grease.

EDITED:
Turn your wheel and move your Bronco to expose the hole in the boot, to be able to have good access to it!!!

First I pumped some grease back through the little hole with a grease gun with a needle nose grease end.
After I put the grease in, I cleaned the outside very well and added some permatex to just the hole and barely squeezed a little in, hardly anything in, half a second I would say.

Then followed the directions for the tire patch kit, basically scuffed it up around the area of the hole, then put the rubber cement on the patch and folded it over the boot, held it there for about 5 minutes just to make sure the glue was dry enough.

About a half hour later, I then added some more Permatex Form a Gasket around the patch and a little over the edge of the patch, (not a lot, just a thin layer over the patch) and then I let it dry overnight.
It has been 7 almost 8 Months since I repaired the hole in the CV Joint boot, and there has been no problem whatsoever…..

The CV Joint boot is a fairly easy part that can get damaged through rocks or sticks.
Always remember, after doing any Off-Roading, make sure to check the CV Joint Boots that surround them, to make sure you have no damage to them, this was a fairly easy trail, but it must have been a stick or something that poked the hole in the boot.

I hope this is some useful information for everyone…….

I will post pictures later with what it looks like now, after almost 8 Months!!!

EDITED:
The picture doesn’t look pretty, but it does work to seal out the water and keep in the CV Joint grease!!!

Discovered this “on purpose”
for those of you with a Roof Rack.

You can remove your roof rack as one piece.
I discovered how to take the roof rack off during the summer, when taking my doors and roof off.
Last winter when I took my roof rack off for the first time, so I would be able to remove snow off the roof much easier then with it on, I actually disassembled the whole rack, because I couldn’t see any other way at the time.

This summer when I went to take everything off of the Bronco, overhead panels, doors, and top, I thought to myself “there’s got to be a better way,” to remove the roof rack as one piece.

Well there is!!!
I started with the removal of the 2 plastic covers, one on each side, then the 4 nuts in the very front of the rack, at the front window.
Then with the tool that’s supplied, (or a screwdriver) remove the plastic cover and start unscrewing the triangular shaped bolt heads with the same tool.
Only turn the screw as far as it will go when it starts tightening up again, do not keep twisting to take screw out, the screw/bolt is not designed to come out.
Then with a little pulling on the inside bracket(See Picture) with a finger on each side, tug until it comes over the end of the roofs ledge.
(You may have to do some wiggling of the roof rack to get it to come free.)
When you finally get it pulled over the end, lift up a little and put something (Towel) thin under the roof rack, so not to have it lock back into place when you do the other side.
“Repeat for the other side.”
With two people (much easier) lift the back first slightly, then move slightly forward to get the rack of the 4 screws in the front.
Now lift and take rack off the back of the Bronco….

The rack is pretty light, so you can hang it on your garage wall or just stand it up, don’t forget to keep the nuts with the rack as well as the front covers.

Interesting & fun stuff in this thread - Thank you for posting!!

Here's a tip for cold engine starts - Ford's engine priming mode. You probably know engine cold starts wear on internal engine parts, because engine oil has drained into the lower pan. Sure, engines equipped with the Auto Stop/Start have some oil fenders on top of their heads to retain some oil, but cold starts still wear EcoBoost engines.

Bronco's engine priming mode is available with a key fob nearby and by fulling depressing both brake & accelerator pedals and holding down Start/stop button. The engine will then spin 'bout 200 rpm for as long as you hold the Start/stop button. On our first start for the day, I'll spin Bronco's engine for about 20 seconds before starting the engine.

Cheers

So then you are actually still turning the engine over just without the fuel or I should say the engines ignition coils supplying the spark that’s needed to start the Engine?
I guess that’s a question!!!

If so, then why not just have the engine start as it would, since the engine is turning over anyways?

I’m just trying to understand, what’s going on that’s different with or without a normal start versus cranking the engine over for a few seconds without starting it!!!

I know I won’t have any problems with cold weather starts, since I have an Engine Block Heater!
But a lot of Bronco owners don’t, and I’m just trying to help them understand what’s going on with this cold weather start!!!!

Thanks for any further information @Kenneth 😀

I have a feeling that something else must be at play here to make the engine turn over easier during a cold weather start before the fuel or spark is supplied to it, and it kicks over…. 👍

Interesting though, very interesting!!!

Yeah, good question. Don't really know, but think this mode may lift exhaust valves or in some way de-compress cylinders allowing the oil pump to more freely circulate lube. At least, it seems a pretty easy spin while turning the engine in this priming mode.

I'm sure this winter we use our block heater too, but will still want to spin our Bronco's engine in priming mode to circulate this warmer oil before starting.

I almost added that to the post just before yours, (post 49) I was thinking the same thing about holding the valves open, or having a by-pass so not to have any compression!!!

Good information @Kenneth !!!
