Out of curiosity just wondering what dealerships are charging for oil change/tire rotation on broncos. Had my first oil change in at the end of December, since I opted for the extra warranty that included pre paid maintenance for the first 36k I didn’t pay any attention to pricing (looking at the receipt it all says $0 anyway) but noticed a couple days ago that it’s logged in my Ford pass account. According to the app my oil change was $492.02. Is this what oil changes at a dealership cost now? If I remember I’ll ask them next time I’m in but if this is what I need to prepare for when the free service expires then I’ll be doing driveway maintenance.
Edit to add I have a 2.3 with manual

This is what the dealership is billing the Ford service package people. They are scamming the system not you. Typical way to make extra money…they figure no harm no foul and no one gets hurt. Until they get caught.

I do take mine to the Ford dealership where I bought it. My 2.7 oil change and 5 tire rotation was $81! The service advisor said that they had not adjusted the price for the 5 tire rotation because it’s still so new. We will see the next time I get the oil change done.

Sir Toasty is the 2.3 7 quarts? After all this misinformation the last 2 years it appears the 2.7 (mine) is only 6 quarts as a final determination...

2.3L is also 6 quarts.

Well long story. Mine 2.7 came with 7 quarts as did most everyone’s. I measured mine after draining. Ford claimed 7 was correct for two years. My dealer ordered me the correct part number dipstick with a triangle on it. I verified part number with other dealers and online part vendors. Saw photos of oil pan with 7 quarts in it and was still below top of oil pan. My Bronco manual calls for 7. Ford has stated over and over that 7 quarts in the 2.7 will do no harm. Now my Bronco reads perfectly full with seven with my Ford authorized dip stick.

Ford changed their tune a few months ago claiming 6. No harm with 7. So I am staying with 7 thinking 7 has to be better than 6, as 6 would be better than 5…

Hi Everyone, I have had my Bronco for only a week so I don't need an oil change anytime soon. I was curious on how difficult it is to change my own oil when the time comes. Any tips or pointers?

You guys got it all wrong. The oil change cost $39.95. It's the $389.03 fee to recycle the waste oil that drove the price up! :geek:
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

I installed one of these drain valves. Works great and allows a tube to be slipped over end to divert oil where you want. It also solves replacing Ford’s drain plug when changing oil. Many different manufacturer versions out there but not all come with double silicone o-ring seals as this one.

I paid $107 for full synthetic and 4 tire rotation. And I’m in CA!

It's a wonder you can still drive your Bronco there, let a lone dump oil out of a can. :0)

Well if you do the math the oil they charge you for is probably at least $100 (6-7 quarts). Then the filter and the dreaded shop supplies.
That’s why I change my own with Ford spec oil for about $50Use the syn. blend, change every 3K miles, bingo bango...good to go. Been doing that for the last bizillion years. Never had any issues. Then again maybe we should listen to the oil mfgs and dealers that make all the money off the $429 oil change. IF you do get a kiss make sure it isn't an oily one. :0)

It all just comes with warnings for him that "In California, this ______ is known to cause cancer." I swear that phrase is on every item I buy in a store. I could be buying a Hallmark Card and the darn thing will be labeled "... is known to cause cancer in the state of California..."

So I picked my bronco up Monday and my local dealer offered me 8 oil changes/tire rotations for $398. Honestly I didn't ask if full synthetic or not but they typical charge $110 for that service so I did get the deal. They also said that it's a deal they offer to everyone. Only thing that sucks is it only good for the Bronco and I would have to purchase another one for my wife's explorer if wanted the same deal. I have always gotten oil changes done at the dealership because my experience when an issue does come up they are easier to work with since they are only ones who have worked on it.

Extended warranty and maintenance contracts are mostly for women and men who can't find their dipsticks. Your welcome! (You know that is what you were thinking, but a little too politically correct to print it)

I just scheduled my first oil change and the dealership I use has a special deal of 3 oil changes, tire rotation and Multi point inspection for $180.00. This is what I do.

That seems excessive. When you asked your dealer, how did they explained the "other" charges? I pay about $60-70 for the oil change, but did pay another $20 or so for some fasteners with the first oil change. (Legit wear, not a warranty claim)
