Ford Performance Parts & Accessories is pleased to announce starting in March 2024, Bronco hardtops for the 4-Door Bronco will be available for purchase in very limited quantities.

So this means select customers will only be able to purchase one (1) Bronco hardtop via accessories.ford.com.
In order to match the limited supply of Bronco hardtops with the potential demand, Ford will send out e-mail communications containing a URL and with an email validation for Customers to purchase via accessories.ford.com. They are going to check the vin to make sure its still active I'm guessing via Ford pass.

Customer communications will be sent in batches with the first being sent to owners of the oldest 21MY Broncos in early-March. Customers will be required to sign-in with their email address, as verification of eligibity, upon entry to the website.

**Due to the limited supply of hardtops, processing order information and fulfilling customer orders may take up to 12+ months**

This very conversation went on and on starting in January of 2021 when all this came out. “If you want it faster, purchase it like this”. “Drop constrained items X,Y or Z. The people who got it the worst were those who changed over early and got theirs with the soft top and no prewire for the hard top. The whole Dual Top fiasco was just that. Then two or three months later they told people that they could get it pre wired. The really early ones have no recourse for rear wiper or defroster. The people who had to have it right away made their choice whether it was an informed one or not. Bad tops, no tops, Sasquatch wheels, factory tow hitch or any of the other constrained items. Everything was a roll of the dice. Right down to what dealership you went with. The illusion of building in the order of reservation was always that, an illusion. Allocations were always a factor. What drove me crazy was that unless we read the fine print or opened boxes and looked at attachments, no one would have known. I put out all of the information way back when and several people railed against what I was saying. If you looked it was all stated right there in black and white. Unfortunately most people never read all of the information. Kind of like an update on your phone or your XBox or PS5. You just click “accept” without looking at it. A real poop show from the get go.

Let me just add one more piece to this mess.

In June 2021 (if I remember correctly), my Bronco was previewing in the system, this was when I still had the MIC top in my build. It sat there for 2 weeks then fell off. By the time August rolled around and reports were coming out about price increases for Model Year 2022, and MIC still being a huge constraint, yes I decided to NOT go another winter in my Mustang and make the switch to a soft top. 2 weeks later I had a VIN.

So being that I previewed months earlier with the hard top, I'm beyond salty. And it's sad to see how this soft top has been wearing 2 years later.

Based on the way Ford is rolling out the Hard Top program like the Bronco Reservation system, here are the types of posts we can expect to see for the next 2+ years:

  • The Hard Top should have a discount for customers pushed into a soft top. <------We are here
  • I have a 21-22-23-24 Bronco. Where is my Hard Top offer email?
  • My dealer can't confirm my eligibility, what do I do?
  • I had a horrible dealer experience with my Bronco, and I refuse to work with them. Who else can confirm my eligibility?
  • I just ordered my Hard Top 20 seconds ago, when will it ship?
  • I ordered my Hard Top 6 months ago, when will it ship?
  • I ordered my Hard Top 9 months ago, when will it ship?
  • I ordered my Hard Top 12 months ago, when will it ship?
  • I ordered my Hard Top 18 months ago, when will it ship?
  • I ordered my Hard Top XX months ago, but I sold my Bronco. How do I cancel my order?
  • After XX months, the Dealership lost my order, what do I do?
  • After XX months, Ford lost my order, what do I do?
  • My Hard Top was damaged in shipping. Do I have to wait all over again?
  • My Dealer sold my Hard Top to someone else, do I have to wait all over again?
  • My Dealer is gouging me with ADM for the Hard Top, can I have it shipped to a different dealer?
  • My Hard Top arrived at the dealer, but my Dealer can't get me in for the install for 30-60-90 days. Can I have it installed somewhere else?
  • Beware! The Hard Top didn't come with a prep kit and I had to spend $500 more. Highway Robbery!
  • My Hard Top is already peeling? The quality is crap!

Should we make this a Bingo card?

This is why I am saying "hard pass" to this program. My past order anxiety is just flooding right back in. I'll wait until I can buy a higher quality 3rd party hard top and skip all the worry.

We live in an I want it now world and do whatever it takes to get that satisfaction without thinking of the consequences until later. From all these posts about being forced into getting a soft top it just makes me remember a saying my aunt would tell me "Patience is a virtue." Also thank you because I know those that changed their minds to soft tops moved my bronco build up sooner than later from the two years I already waited. Holding my ground on not changing what I wanted no matter the noise from dealers or other social media posts was worth the wait.

For those who did not watch @fordvideoguy last night... it seems Ford is indeed offering it to soft top Bronco owners first, and those offers will be locked to your VIN and FordPass account.

And based on the info he had, it seems like it'll be handled largely through Ford, which gives me hope that we can bypass the whole "my dealer is totally clueless, reads literally nothing Ford sends him, and is refusing to help" problem.

So I guess we'll see, but hopefully the bingo card won't be quite as bad as @TechnicalDisaster predicted.

I can’t possibly afford that expense this year. I was expecting the cost to come in around half that price because I was pushed into a soft top by my dealer and Ford. Why else would they incentivize the switch if they weren’t pushing people that direction?

Hopefully these will be available in 2025 when I can afford one. So disappointed in that price. People who got the free “Hard top prep kit” should get an additional rebate off the $4,995 MSRP.

Exactly, I’m thinking it will be a much better time to buy a hard top about a year from now, but I’ve been saying that for 2 years now. 😆

I’ve got one more thing to try and quiet my soft top to the point where it’s quieter than a hard top on the interstate. If it works the way I think it will work, I will skip the expense altogether.

I like the soft top, the only draw back for me with every soft top is access to the cargo area.
For $5k I can buy, probably 2 new soft tops when they get old a faded.
Everyone that rides in it thinks the soft top is cool.

Its 100% handled by Ford/ Ford accessories.
The only thing not handled is the installation. I mean I can put a hardtop on its not hard for someone to do by themselves.

Does anyone remember the dual tops price from the original order pricing? I seem to recall that it was around $2500.
So if @Ford really wants to make it up to all of us who decided we wanted to get our Bronco before the end of time occurred and switched to soft top (yes I got the extra points which in no way compares to this current pricing deal) then they should offer it to us somewhere within that original pricing range!!

You know what, I love my soft top and quite frankly clients that see my Bronco at work are impressed how it looks. I am curious what the soft top will look like in the next five to seven years depending on the climate and care that the soft tops are being subjected to. When I ordered my Bronco in 2021, I knew what I was getting into. The journey was and still is incredible top up or down.

I haven't paid much attention to this because I didn't think Ford would ever get here! However, I received an email last week saying the hardtop has arrived, shop now. However, my email doesn't have a link. I have a 2022 soft top. I originally ordered a 2021 Ruby Red with black painted hard top (I didn't like the MIC gray). When asked if I wanted to wait for the painted, I said yes and they pushed me to a 2022 model year. When the 2022 orders open, I was there day 1 and found out that the black painted hard top still weren't being produced so I opted to change to the soft top because I wanted my Bronco. I was hoping to have it before my dad passed away as he had a 1966 Bronco and I wanted him to see it. Well that didn't happen as he passed in 2021. On top of not getting my black painted hard top, they discontinued the ruby red I had originally ordered!! So the Bronco I have is nothing like what I originally order. All that being said, I LOVE it and I get tons of compliments on the Area 51 color (my kids' first choice).

I appreciate if anyone knows if my email was just the advertisement or if I am in line to be able to order. I actually saved back money when I ordered the Bronco in case Ford ever offered a hard top (still not the one I wanted!). Thank you!!

I believe you have to contact your dealer to order, they will verify with your VIN

So to kick start an old thread….I saw a dealership update the other day regarding ordering the MIC top. Maybe they are more easily available now for the masses. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Thanks. That said, I feel like I'm now swimming in a saltwater hot tub with a bunch of open cuts...
