Ford Performance Parts & Accessories is pleased to announce starting in March 2024, Bronco hardtops for the 4-Door Bronco will be available for purchase in very limited quantities.

So this means select customers will only be able to purchase one (1) Bronco hardtop via accessories.ford.com.
In order to match the limited supply of Bronco hardtops with the potential demand, Ford will send out e-mail communications containing a URL and with an email validation for Customers to purchase via accessories.ford.com. They are going to check the vin to make sure its still active I'm guessing via Ford pass.

Customer communications will be sent in batches with the first being sent to owners of the oldest 21MY Broncos in early-March. Customers will be required to sign-in with their email address, as verification of eligibity, upon entry to the website.

**Due to the limited supply of hardtops, processing order information and fulfilling customer orders may take up to 12+ months**

So basically a lottery and a year to wait for delivery.

No. They actually go by vin and date. 2021s first. Then 2022 then 2023.

That’s how I read the memo. You log in with you FordPass info on the ford accessories website. Its 1 per vin.

Not to cross contaminate the thread but as a public service, Attaching a bronco6G Thread for the TurnOffroad Top. Folks are currently taking delivery and posting successful installs with positive results. We are watching this version and will see one up close at Colorado Bronco Upfitters.

Its $4995+ tax and if you choose to have it installed.
But Ford didn't "push" you into a soft top. Ford gave you the option to switch to a soft top to get it faster. Everyone had their choice 100% of what they wanted to do. If you were forced into a choice that's on your dealer. You could swap and get the soft top to get it faster or you could wait it out.

The people who said its 12k is the people who priced it out at their dealer part by part because the whole top was never available for purchase until now.

This is disingenuous. I say this as a Day 2 order who was scheduled and repeatedly delayed.

Saying Ford didn't PUSH us to swap for a Soft top is akin to saying "Nobody Pushed Jimmy Hoffa to disappear".

It is what it is, but call the ball. If you were in a position where you wanted the car you ordered in a timely manner, you played the odds and either stood pat, or made the switch. We switched and deleted the $695 Top and yes, REMAIN bitter... We ordered it to drive and use in the mountains, not to wait for it as a potential collectors item or flip.

We took delivery 14 months ahead of a number of friends and peers that "Stood firm" on the MIC. One of which has been replaced not once, but twice. We have had a spectacular time with our 6G since December of '21 so have small regrets. @Ford Motor Company was exceptionally horrible at managing the entire roll out, but we have had zero issues and are pushing 72,000 mountain battled miles.

The bitterness resurfaces when we look at this announcement. We would like a reliable hard top, and may likely decide to go with TurnOffroad. The majority of early feedback on their product ( which is actually Shipping) has been positive. Current indications lead us to believe this is a product that is superior to the OEM/MIC, for a hair less than the Oval is advertising. This entire fiasco should offer us early adopters a solid bone for switching from MIC to Soft. My two cents.
Perhaps folks were not "pushed" but the threat of delayed delivery was quite real, and should not be sugar coated in any way.

Communication attached.

Thank you Laura. Please share that us early adopting OG's would appreciate some communication on ordering, sooner than later so we might order-sooner-than-later.

Unfortunately all of us older reservations had to make some tough decisions either way. Never should have been put in that position to start with. Most people now have no clue as to what we are talking about.

@alyd09 How can you watch a video like this, and not believe Ford wasn't pushing people to switch to soft tops?

This very popular dealer is clearly telling people to drop their hard tops or they don't get a Bronco. I wonder how Mitch's customers are feeling now?

It was extremely dealer specific.

Obviously T&C has been pushing hard with online advertising and their YouTube channel, and therefore probably attracted a fair amount of orders from across the country they normally wouldn't have gotten. Probably too many orders for the allocations they were provided (if I were to guess) but that's just speculation on my part, I have no idea.

Mitch clearly was pushing his order holders off of the MIC hard top (and the other two options), but that was a decision he had to make due to the situation at his specific dealership. He even specifically said in the video that he was addressing the T&C order holders. And yeah... maybe at his dealership it was necessary to take that approach, but he obviously can only represent the situation at his dealership.

I personally was never pushed to drop the MIC hard top, and all of the reservation holders at my dealer got their vehicles by mid-2023. Granted I'm sure some people did take the money and switch to get their vehicle faster (or because they wanted the money), but I even asked if it was going to be necessary and they said, "nah, our numbers are looking good".

Other than when Ford dropped anti-matter blue after 2021, I personally felt zero pressure to change my build.

This very conversation went on and on starting in January of 2021 when all this came out. “If you want it faster, purchase it like this”. “Drop constrained items X,Y or Z. The people who got it the worst were those who changed over early and got theirs with the soft top and no prewire for the hard top. The whole Dual Top fiasco was just that. Then two or three months later they told people that they could get it pre wired. The really early ones have no recourse for rear wiper or defroster. The people who had to have it right away made their choice whether it was an informed one or not. Bad tops, no tops, Sasquatch wheels, factory tow hitch or any of the other constrained items. Everything was a roll of the dice. Right down to what dealership you went with. The illusion of building in the order of reservation was always that, an illusion. Allocations were always a factor. What drove me crazy was that unless we read the fine print or opened boxes and looked at attachments, no one would have known. I put out all of the information way back when and several people railed against what I was saying. If you looked it was all stated right there in black and white. Unfortunately most people never read all of the information. Kind of like an update on your phone or your XBox or PS5. You just click “accept” without looking at it. A real poop show from the get go.

I also like free things.

Tacos especially. They had taco samplers at the grocery store today... I may have stopped by the sample stand more than once.

You forgot to mention Turn Off Road $4495, Rally Tops $3995. And I do believe TOR has some sort of warranty with their tops. And Ford has had issues with tops that crack, leak, so on. So having a Manufacturer's Warranty is required at that point. Seeing that you work at a dealer, now I know why you are pushing the Ford top.

And honestly, Ford quality has taken a huge hit in the last few years, since the release of the Bronco. Never had any issues with my '84, '92 or '93 Broncos. As stated above my '12 Mustang went over 235k miles. Yet the 2021, lots of little quirks and annoyances. From electronics that work correctly when they want to. To having to replace a shock (rotted out) at 42k miles, and 3 more that are rusting away. I either learn to live with things, or fix on my own. I will say I love my Bronco because it's a Bronco, but that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed with Ford. They did a horrible job with this release.

That's pretty much what I was referring to. The MIC top does not have a good reputation for quality of manufacture. I think the MIC top on my 2-door is of good quality. With Bronco production leveling off (sales are off 25% I last saw), Ford will keep MIC top production up to load up on warranty stock, repair stock, and after-sale stock. I agree, $5K is a market price for such a piece of hardware.

Love this rig. I conjure up errands to run for absolutely no logical reason…

“Why didn’t I get pepper when I picked up salt? Sorry, I’ll go back. What… the roads? No. No theyre fine.”

Agree with @TK1215 here. It is reasonable that folks in the current 6G marketplace don’t have insight into the “early days”. Dealer lots are now stocked with a variety of builds. Used market is strong.

With respect, many have no clue about the absurdity that blanketed early orders. We had to track our orders… twice a day. Many of us were trapped on a hellish giant holding lot called “Dirt Mountain”. Look it up. Friends orders that were supposedly in transit on a rail car would vanish. One woman successfully resorted to Bronco social media to find her missing vehicle that was unloaded, undocumented, and sitting in a rail yard for weeks, abandoned. A rail employee who happened to also be on a Bronco FB page helped track it down.
Multiple dealers would hunt for every excuse to sell an order away, out from under the original customer.
It was a s#it show. True stories.

Ironically, I’ve had/am having a tremendous 6G ride. Had CJ’s, XJ’s, a 5.9, Audi S4, S6, and our 6G has proven to be the most compelling. At least up in the Rockies. It continually surprises, especially during the nastiest of blizzards and remote off road film shoots. I depend on it for work. Love driving it. May get another.

That said, with regard to the hard top, I still feel 1000% swindled by Ford. Yes, Buyer beware, supply demand,…blah, blah. I needed to replace a vehicle and did not expect a two year delay. If you wanted to replace a vehicle, the threat and pressure to switch was intense, and this was after a year of multiple delays.
One Ford Customer Rep had the stones to suggest some of us “switch to a Maverick…”
….please…
(That thread is either in here, FB, or on Bronco6g… I will hunt it down)
At the least, there should be a deep discount for those that switched. @Ford Motor Company knows exactly who we are. The digital trail is there. The letters and texts from my dealership are saved.
( @Laura feel free to nudge the oval for us 6G “OG’s”)

Now if you’ll forgive me, it’s snowing here in the mountains. I’m out. Gotta get that pepper and then go back for the napkins I’m going to forget.

They gave 1000 ( I believe id have to dig to find the old paperwork) in Fordpass points to have people switch who wanted it sooner rather than later. Not nearly enough to cover much but that was the offer at the given time. Unfortunately that's going to be the defense they use is they didn't force anyone to switch. They gave people the choice to switch.

The whole time I was guessing 4-6k because when you price it out piece by piece I believe it was like 12k so I cut it in half.

Sorry to bring the bad news @TechnicalDisaster :(

This is incorrect. The 1000 points did not go to those simply switching from MIC to Soft top, nor was there any break for a hard top prep wiring harnesses on earliest orders.
Lastly do the math on 1000 FordPass points….

BTW, I’m not bitter and drive our 6G with joy many times for no logical reason, whenever I can, but there is no sugar coating to be done with regard to this issue.

Fair, but a 2023 delivery was a full two years behind the 1000’s ( tens of thousands?) of the most egregious activity we endured in 2020 and 2021. Well except for the day one and other early orders yet to be filled.
The list of constraints played like Russian roulette. You never knew which one was going to double-tap your order in the forehead.

I'm glad I stuck to my original order with hard top. There was obviously a delay in delivery due to MIC v2, but worth the wait IMHO.
