What type of off-roading are you doing and what equipment are you adding to your Bronco (or vehicle) to safely accomplish it? I’m looking for ideas on Jacks, Winches, Comprossors, Recovery Gear???

I’m aiming for high speed and some slower muddy forest/mountain trails, I’ve got a general idea, but no brands or specific options planned.
  • 48” Jack
  • Air Compressor (probably under the seat mounted)
  • Recovery Boards
  • Straps (not sure if I want a winch too)
This is my starting, but I’m still planning. What are your ideas??

Any ideas on how/where to mount recovery boards on 4dr Soft top?

I don't mount mine. They fit perfectly behind the seat. Kinda just slide in. I have three rok straps tied to the back of the seat and have the boards, an ARB compressor with tank, morefate quad kit, tow strap, battery booster, tools, front bag for hard top covers and such snugged up to the back seat. Works great for me. Not a lot of space and it isn't going anywhere.

Under my back seat, a safetyjack - quality off roading jack, saws, hatchets, pruners, large torque wrench, radios and more tools.

I found a really good thread with mounting recovery boards on a different forum. They are mounted to the roll bar, using screws and washers from Ace Hardware! Really good instructions in a PDF too.

I just yesterday took delivery of compressor and hoses from Thor’s Lightning…. Portable so I can take it when I need it and otherwise am not having to haul it around…. It’s heavier than I expected

Forgot, got one in the little side cargo pocket. These are small and never have to be recharged. Also forgot I have quality trauma first aid kit

Bumping an old thread, but thought this might be helpful to some. I just acquired a Bronco last week, and searching forums/Google for a multitude of things to do to it. :-)

When I first got into off roading in my F-150, did not have a winch. There were a ton of others using a More Power Puller, basically a heavy-duty come-a-long. This thing is stout! Search YouTube for some videos of people using this to recover vehicles. Nice thing is, easy to transport, you can hook it to the front or rear of a vehicle and it won't need any power other than your muscles.

nothing wrong with those! keeps you in good shape too (as opposed to electric winches!)
