I like most here was pretty shocked at the price and I really enjoyed and learned a lot at the Texas location. I think that something around $800-$1100 would be ok I might pay extra for additional advanced training like an in-depth winching instruction.

I guess the bigger question is what would YOU pay to attend a second off-roadeo?

What would you consider a fair price and at what point is the cost exploitive?
I was prepared to pay $250 to tag along with my friend who hasn’t used his ticket yet.

So my max for a 1 day event is $250 per person. But even at that rate I wouldn’t dream of having my teenagers come along to sit in the back seat all day.

Is winching that hard? A private pilot license cost around $150/hr for FLIGHT INSTRUCTION. So you could could fly a plane with a personal licensed instructor for 7 hours to get to $1,100.

A winch is like two buttons. 😉

$199 and BYOB (bring your own Bronco), this should be something to advance the love of offroading, no to cash in

I just paid $550 for the Off Roadeo Connect in Palo Duro Canyon, TX. This is a 6 hour instructor lead day with lunch included. I'm doing it, and paid for it, so I guess that would be my max to go back to an Off Rodeo event.

This is where I was thinking also. I'm just not interested at double that.

I would think there are a lot of costs associated with a venture like Off-Roadeo. We all know Broncos aren't cheap plus you add guide fees, food, maintenance costs, lease payments and of course, insurance. None of that is cheap. They probably looked at what it was going to take to make it a viable stand alone product (plus profit) and came up with the $2000 price tag.

The hard part, I think, is finding the balance between how much and to much. First and foremost this is a business. They gotta pay the bills. Lease amount, instructor staff, site staff, food, clean up, janitorial, site maintenance, vehicle prep and service, product to sell, utilities, insurance. I can go on and on. And there is probably a lot more. And this is for profit. What is the bottom line cost to run all this with no subsidies from Ford?

That's what they say but so far when you go to register it comes up as unavailable without the prior requirements. Unless it's chamged since yesterday. Also $2k LOL. Yeah sure ok.

Was excited until I saw the price. I guess they really don't want people to come a second time. I would venture to say that most bronco owners would have hard time justifying that, for a few hours of guided offroading

To each his or her oun
Exactly this. Same as Bronco production they'll "provide it" they just make it so that (almost) no one will go or get the options they want.

I'd love to do MOAB or New Hampshire but I can do much better for $2k in adventuring, buying gear or getting some real training in winching ect.

I don't disagree, but for $2,000, I'd want to see photography and fishing instructors on the trail, and some overnight camping. That's way over the top. It was a nice perk to buying a Bronco, but not something I'd considering paying this much for. The instruction was helpful but very introductory, as were the trails. I'd rather put that kind of money into some of the stuff Loren's team is putting together. The kind of money they're charging for this is on par with vacations, tours through Iceland, and other way more interesting things.

The price is beyond insane compared to traditional vacation excursions.
Here is an example of an excursion my family did in Cozumel:
https://www.viator.com/tours/Cozumel/Private-and-Customizable-Jeep-Excursion-in-Cozumel/d632-8916P1

$89 per person. 6 hours in our own Jeep, lunch and beer provided, beaches and snorkeling included, cost of entry to a national park included, AND transportation to & from our hotel.
How can Bronco Offroadeo justify these prices?
Trying to make up for lost $ from Broncos not being made?

  • Passenger (Non-Driving) Guest – $495 each, plus tax
  • Driving Guest – $595 each, plus tax
  • Under 18 Guests (not eligible to drive) – $395 each, plus tax

I'm pretty sure the rigs are owned by Ford and provided for free. I might be wrong. Also alot of product placement from other brands that may have helped advertising wise atkeast initially.

My Potosi is an interesting location. I found an article from 2019 when the Boy Scouts was trying to sell the land to a developer for $90 million. That included all 1,150 acres. Not sure how the sale shook out, but I’m sure Ford/Bronco Offroadeo paid a pretty penny for their piece of land. It doesn’t seem like the current offering could make that location sustainable. I could probably look it up on the local county assessors site and see how much money exchanged hands (I probably won’t because I’m not that emotionally invested in this issue)

The Moab location uses public trails, so it certainly has to be one of the cheaper spots to operate.

A friend of mine hasn’t used his Offroadeo ticket yet. I was thinking of tagging along with him - but I didn’t realize the first guest fee has also doubled!

I may never go back.
I believe the guides stated it was still owned by the scouts and they were using it. I would imagine it is the lamest location but our dealer stipulated this location.

Insurance? You sign a waiver and pay for 3rd party insurance if you don't want to cover any damage so .. . Also I highly doubt there is no subsidies from Ford. It's a big Ford ad complete with Ford aftermarket parts on display. I'm sure they pay and write it off on their taxes as marketing or advertising. Same with the provided Broncos. Companies play by different rules then the people.

$2000.00, are you serious? Nope. 😮
Well, I was going to ask if you'd be willing to cough up the $2K to go to Moab, but sounds like not only a NO, but a HELL NO. I'm kind of considering it just for the uniqueness of the event.

They don't have to justify those prices. That's the part of capitalism students learn in business class 101 referred to as "what the market will bear." It's that point where supply meets demand. Apparently, they have no shortage of customers (on the demand side) who are willing to fork over $2K to the sellers (on the supply side). If they didn't have enough customers (lower demand) to fill up their events, then they'd lower their cost to drive up demand and meet the supply.
