New Site: Known Issues

Hi all -- this thread is meant to keep you in the loop of what we've documented and are working on. Some of these items were intended as part of another launch phase; some are nice-to-haves; and some are unintended issues. We're working in order of priority.
1. Dark mode

Site load times and speed: two patches have been implemented so far - actively being worked on

You were about one day early on that post though EvlNvrDys. We changed the nav to last read the next day, which hopefully has been working for you.
As for why the site is faster though VPN, I'm going to tag @Platform Support.

We made some major improvements on speed/performance and continue to make further tweaks. My recommendation would be try again without a VPN, I believe you should see the performance we all are expecting.

Photo uploading is really, really broken.
I was able to upload a photo as the “cover” photo for a post, but the same photo kept being rejected as an in-line image. I tried hosting in on imgur, and that link was rejected also. Both methods used to work.

OK, I have another data point.
If I reply to a post that I have an image posted in, I am able to upload an image with no issues. However, if I start a new post, I get “Image cannot be loaded from the passed link” every time. This points to some permission or access issue on the web server.

By chance are you using a VPN? There was something posted a bit ago about issues with VPNs

Sometimes it states there's insufficient privilege to post, and a refresh or two fixes it

Happens to me all the time, I don't use a VPN. I just go to the site through a web browser.

Good news, site been working much better lately without using a VPN. Besides, I only need that when you decide to ban me by I.P. Address. So for now, I think we're good. 😉

Happens to me all the time, I don't use a VPN. I just go to the site through a web browser.

I do all my browsing on my phone. Wonder if some how that makes difference. Not a super big deal to me. Seems like some days are worse than others.

Thanks for your note, we believe this logout issue as well as additional speed issues have been resolved with a hotfix release we pushed to production early this morning. Please let me know if you experience logging out issues moving forward. I will DM you to find out any more details if needed.

The "LAST SEEN" is still stuck on Sept 30, 2022...

Still no Email Notifications, even though I click "Notify me with Email" on thread and forum post. It was previously working prior to update in early October.

Also, I get zero emails from BN about News and other communications. EXCEPT FROM THE GEAR STORE. (Uses same email account)

None of these are deal breakers, but worth noting.

New bugs to add to the list (some may already be on the list, admittedly didn't check everything).

1. At least 50% of the time I don't have the ability to reply to or post threads, despite being logged in. I just have to refresh anywhere between 2 and 200 times and eventually it'll let me post.

2. I can only add images to thread replies. I cannot add images to new threads, it just errors out or sits there and does nothing. I can also not add images to private conversations but that's already on the list.

3. This Edit button doesn't work. It just sends me to the xenForo back-end (looks like a vanilla xenForo install) and errors out.
