New Site: Known Issues

Hi all -- this thread is meant to keep you in the loop of what we've documented and are working on. Some of these items were intended as part of another launch phase; some are nice-to-haves; and some are unintended issues. We're working in order of priority.
1. Dark mode
2. Staying logged in on desktop and mobile DONE
3. Page navigation in threads/DMs -- starting unread threads at the top, starting page 2 at the top instead of the bottom.
4. Page refresh when interacting with a post (liking)DONE (released 10/19)
5. More formatting options in post/reply creation toolDONE
6. Line spacing in post/reply creation toolDONE
7. Alerts -- making entire alert clickable(scheduled for 10/26 release)
8. Attachments -- making entire image clickable, not just title DONE (released 10/19)
9. Image resolution on articles, load screen DONE (released 10/19)
10. Shortening Forum homepage welcome bannerDONE
11. Search plugin brought over
12. Watched threads (scheduled for 10/26 release) /Bookmarks
13. Option to add images in DMs
14. New color for reply button
15. New Posts/ Mark All As Read
16. Post numbers brought overDONE
17. Redirects DONE (released 10/19)
18. Standard and military timestamps (scheduled for 10/26 release)
19. Threads clickable from Forum homepage DONE (released 10/19)

Hey @Laura, I noticed today that the last page of posts in a thread is not showing when I click on a thread anymore. It had corrected itself but is now back to showing the first page of each thread again. You have to click on the last page of the thread and then scroll down to see the most recent post. Can you look into this one again?

I also noticed that when you click to reply to a post, it doesn't take you to the bottom where you can reply anymore. You have to scroll down to get to where you can reply. (Hopefully, this one makes sense.)

Three new bugs:

  1. If you edit post that has a link to media (such as YouTube), when you go to save it again it removes that embedded media.
  2. Sometimes you encounter the inability to edit your own post. If you refresh the page enough it will eventually let you edit it.

  3. When it does eventually let you edit the post, it spits you to the xenForo platform backend that Bronco Nation runs on and it doesn't actually let you edit anything.

I can (and just did) edit a post, but it did not contain a web link of any kind. I just used it to correct my grammar.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

I have been able to edit my posts but did have an issue once where it would not allow me to. I did also have the xenForo issue that @RagnarKon mentioned, but that was only once.

#2 staying logged in is still not working for me on Mobile site using Android. Whenever I leave BN site and come back I have to login again. Also when going to the next page on a forum it keeps me at the bottom again even though it was fixed before just FYI

Liking the upgrades so far! As with most new things, it takes time to work some of the bugs out. Glad that the team has been so receptive to readers ideas. 🙂

Still think #10 is not fixed, banner is still too large and takes up a whole page on mobile. I would ask is a banner for the forums really necessary? We are already on the site we don’t need a welcome for each section IMHO.

A 'View More' button has been added to the Latest Posts section at the top of the Forums page which will take you directly to the What's New list.

Did not see this on the list of "issues". In a multi page thread, like this one or any, there is no way to see the most recent unread post in a big thread. I have to scroll to the bottom even though I have read those posts already. The old site had this feature which is why I am missing it.

You were about one day early on that post though EvlNvrDys. We changed the nav to last read the next day, which hopefully has been working for you.
As for why the site is faster though VPN, I'm going to tag @Platform Support.
