Bronco Nation exists to make owning a Bronco easier and more enjoyable. Part of that mission includes bringing the community together in person and online. And to do that that better, we needed a new Bronco Nation website.

On Monday morning, you’ll be able to see what our team has been working on for many months: a new version of theBroncoNation.com.

While the look of the site will be slightly different, the features you like will be staying –– and we’re even adding some new ones. What you see next week will be the start of even more to come.

You’re going to experience:
  • A better Member Map, our members-only feature that shows you Bronco communities, trails, campsites, and more all over the country.
  • An easier Events page. We’ve simplified down the steps and added a regional search. You’ll spend less time finding events to attend and creating your own.
  • A much friendlier mobile visit. The majority of you use Bronco Nation on your phone, and we’ve set up the site to be easier to browse and navigate. One thing to note: The Bronco Nation app will be ending. App users, we’d like to welcome you to the site. We’ve kept you in mind since the beginning of this process and went with a mobile-first setup.
  • Better search function across the forums and news articles. We know it hasn’t been great. Now you’ll have an easier time finding information you need.
  • A member dashboard of all your benefits. You’re going to have an easier time finding your member number, seeing what’s available with your membership, and locating partner codes.
We’ll Help You Through the Changes

While plenty of the changes are behind-the-scenes performance or in appearance-only, there are going to be some differences, especially surrounding your individual habits and patterns on BN. These may take getting used to.

Ask us any questions. Give us feedback because we will be doing continued improvements. Tag us here in the forums –– @Laura, @MattR, @London, and @jparker. Your team at Bronco Nation is here to help. This includes our moderators @SlashRacer, @Deano Bronc, and @TK1215, who deserve a special callout and round of applause for helping us get this site shaped up. Mike, Dean, and Tim have dedicated hours upon hours on the new site and with us on the phone, and their work was vital to making this as seamless as an experience for you as possible. Another massive thanks goes to our support teammates of Chris and Nick; we couldn't have done the tech or stayed on track without them.

Things to Note
  • Forum pause: Right now, we are on track to launch the site on Monday morning. This means the forums will pause at 5 p.m. ET this Friday. You can search for answers and read all you want, but you won't be able to post new threads or reply. We'll be posting a top banner across the forums soon to remind you. All our social sites will be up and running, so if you need a question answered, ask us on Facebook or Instagram.
  • Login: When you come back to Bronco Nation on Monday, you will need to log in again. If you know your password or have it saved on your device, this should be simple. If you need to reset it, we've tested the reset button, and it works. If you have any trouble, contact us at [email protected].
  • Having issues? If you find bugs or are having any issues at all, drop them here or DM me or @MattR. I will be showing off where some of the new features and adjustments are early Monday morning in this thread.
  • Reminder: The Bronco Nation app will be ending. We're still finding out if that's going to be a hard stop or if it will just stop updating. I'll let you know once we know.
We love our community here and can’t wait to make it even easier for all of us to connect around the vehicle we’re passionate about!

Heads up with the Gear Store -- remember how you used to have two accounts (one for the forums, one for the store), and if you hadn't activated the Gear account but just signed up with your forum account, it wouldn't recognize you or show discounts, etc, etc, etc. ... in other words, inefficient and confusing?

We did an update that will automatically bring you in to your account if you're a Bronco Nation member (hooray!). The heads up is that until your cache clears or you manually clear, you may be getting an "invalid multipass request" error.
Super awesome. Thanks!

@Laura @Platform Support,
I added a table to the Steel & Stirrups Lamp thread. I wanted to apply a background color to specific table rows. The table tools allowed the color to be applied in the preview, but when I post the message all the color changes are removed.

The table below should have a green background:

Site running super slow today, especially the conversations and events page. Also, I got an invite with 1000 participants, and I got the invite 4 times. I think it's really screwing up the load time.

lol. You can try, but my conversations page doesn't load. Also, can't seem to find a place to delete them. If you can delete my conversations on your end, feel free.

@Platform Support

Question 1.
On the search function how do we do two word or multi-word (Boolean) searches? I know technically it’s already Boolean because it’s always OR lol. For example today I was looking to see if there was a thread regarding the member map. You can imagine anything with the word map in it will pull every post about the Michigan assembly plant.

I tried:

Member map
Member and map
”Member” AND “Map”
”Member Map”

Question 2.
I was just looking around and went to the member map just curious who all was online and where. I pulled up the member map and filtered on online and it only showed about 7 people. I went to the forums and the side bar that shows how many people are online was different. Maybe I missed something on the map I was only looking at the US which could account for a couple since the forum only showed 20. I know drilling down sometimes the dot represents more than one person in a location that also could be the reason. Just curious if they are actually tied together.

Try which again the map or the search?

I checked the map shows 5 people online and I zoomed out to check world wide this time and the forum list shows 17.

I have not tried the search yet because I don’t know if that is something you modified and if so how do you express multiple word searches.

Sorry that reply for a previous post.

Thanks so much for calling this to our attention and the detailed post/pics!

Question 1.
Currently our search tool is limited to four characters or more. So when you are searching for MAP you won't be able to find anything.

We are working on enhancing our search. This will be a future feature. We will keep you posted on this.

Question 2.
The reason for you are seeing 7 online members and 20 in the forum, is because 20 in the forum is the additional forum users, not members.

Jason.

For question 1 it was more of a how do you search for two or more words. Searching by only 1, 4 letter word returns too many irrelevant results.

Is there a thread that can be used to report bugs (or anti-features)?
For example: When I see an alert that says that a post of mine has been quoted or replied to, and I click on that link, the post that I am directed to is never correct.
Also, (and this is an anti-feature), I would prefer that only alerts that have been clicked on get removed from the list. If I have 4 alerts, after I look at one of them, I have to go back and “show all.” I’ve never seen a website that works that way, and it’s not helpful.

100% agree with all alerts going away after clicking one of them is a bit annoying

I reported the latter, I've not heard anything since.
And have noticed the "click the alert and it does not take you to that alert" many many times in the last 2 weeks.

  • An easier Events page. We’ve simplified down the steps and added a regional search. You’ll spend less time finding events to attend and creating your own.

Just a suggestion for the EVENT map/page. Wondering if you can add a feature so that when you scroll over the little red BN flag on the map which indicates an event area......that a small bubble/box window pops up indicating the event, date, and location, as a quick overview of the event (without having to click on the event). As an example, I have three events in WA state (which I appreciate the map existing all together), but until I click on each event, I don't know which one might happen first (dates of the each individual event etc) unless I click on each event and eventually have several back clicks to the main map to see the other locations and their date/time/details etc.

Thank you form someone contributing ZERO. 😆
