I am strategizing my work/ camp life once I get my BD.
At least once a month, I have to either sleep on the floor of the locker room at work in another state, or pay for my own hotels.
No more, says I!
Tossed around the idea of a rooftop tent. Nope. Tossed around (and am still debating) the idea of converting my trailer into a micro camper.

But at the end of the day, I think I’ll be most happy with a rear seat delete and blacking out the windows of my 2dr MIC. I should probably plan on fabricating my own platform to turn into my own little living area in the back of my rig. Also looking into Yakima’s camp shower, etc but I’m going to keep rooftop weight to an absolute minimum.

Looking into getting myself a HitchHammock too, for nice nights. But my inner creature tends to require quiet and closed-off spaces that I can crawl into and be left alone.

So, does anyone have pictures of the bare chassis and/or dimensions behind the drivers seat for 2 door models?

There is a post somewhere with the specs with the seats folded down but not deleted. Can’t remember who posted it though. Was in the last week or two

Check this Bronco rig out. Been following her on utube for a while. Got to love a chick that isn't scared to get a little dirty working on a Bronco.

Very cool. Great ingenuity! I had to laugh when she was talking about her built-in toilet.

She has a ton of videos. If you need inspiration for a project or repair.

The toilet was an epic fail ... but you have to give her creidt for trying.

One obstacle you'll have to overcome if deleting the rear seat is that it appears to be held in with studs and not bolts like most other seats. Must be an issue with using bolts in that location such as possibly the fuel tank is ibelow and they didn't want the possibility of them hitting the tank?? Not real sure.

Yeah if I still had my 88 FSB this wouldn’t even be a discussion lol. I miss that truck so much.

Good points! Thank you! I’ll keep digging into it. I’m sure Goose Gear will have a platform soon enough, might have to wait for them to come out with something so I can mimic their design.

I can’t find anything aside from speculation, I’m sure the answers are in a BN video but I don’t feel like scrolling through hours of YouTube to find my answer... they made sure the seats fold all the way flat, right? If they don’t, and I can’t take the rear seats out without cutting metal, I’ll probably cry tbh

This was in a concept model early last fall, wasn’t it?

I find it so weird that the seat bottoms can be removed so easily but the backs are allegedly riveted in or whatever. I could easily make a platform that lays flat on top of the seat(s), flush with the rear seat, which would allow storage space in the trunk like the pull-out cargo drawer plus a flat place to lay down. But it’s just so odd.. why go through the hassle of allowing removable bottoms without allowing removable seat backs too?

Yes , that was last fall, the production models will probably be pretty close, and I’m not sure why the large hump for both the 2 & 4 door models. Once the makers have their hands on them I’m sure we will see some solutions. The slide our drawer/shelf is probably a good idea

I’m planning on laying the front seat down too. Idk. If all fails, I’ll revert back to my trailer conversion idea. It’s an old truck bed, all I gotta do is find a topper for it and black out the windows/ pad it with insulation and toss a cheap mattress back there.

Agree, even the 4-door is kind of short to really sleep in, the trade off from having better off-road angles.

If GG comes up with a modular and easily removable/ stowable design for what I’m going to try and accomplish, I will definitely buy from them. Just depends on a lot of variables, primarily how painful Ford has made removing the seats. Really hoping for a platform that folds in on itself, over the front passenger and rear passenger seat for enough space to comfortably set a 6’ mat. Then when I’m ready to drive and have a passenger I can fold back the platform, reset the front seat and be done with it.

Waiting for exact specs is the worst!
