How did you attach it to the factory crossbars? The issue I have been having is figuring out that part since most accessories are designed for bars with slots in them. Maybe I’m not using a he right keywords in my search’s but can’t find anything that will clamp to the elliptical bars.

Drill the crossbar and bolt it down.

Why do you want to mount them? They fit fine behind the rear seats. There is a cutout for convertible top windows or whatever back there.

Because they take up quite a bit of space and the 2dr is already lacking cargo room. Plus because of their size and shape they end up under everything else and I don’t want to have to unload my other gear into the mud to get them out when needed.

Also, when you use your boards, do you want to return the muddy things to your truck interior?

For those with height and reach issues, there are steps you can hang on your wheel. Onto the step, then up onto the wheel itself, and you should comfortably reach the roof rack or cargo box.

I’m sure you could use a u-bolt to mount the plate but honestly it is easier to just drill and bolt. If you remove it then you can put a plug in the hole if you’re so inclined but nobody will ever see it or know that it’s there otherwise.

Besides U-Bolts, you could just use what most people use to mount an RTT to the maxtrax plate.

Interior mounted and out of the way. What about this? Fits well inside the hardtop, and my new version that's in production should fit well within the soft top with exception of the fully retracted position.

The soft-top cross-bar follows the contour of the roll bar when retracting to the fully retracted position, so I don't see any way to get these to work with a soft top in that position. They fit within the soft top fine and when the top is retracted to the first position, but cause interference only when fully retracted. I do have soft top customers that have these mounted and simply remove the 4 bolts when fully retracting the soft top. Not ideal, but definitely doable if you don't fully retract all that often. With respect to the above comment, yes, I modified to fit well within the soft top, but same issue with full retraction.

I could modify the brackets so they fit tight against the roll bar but that would impair your rear visibility. I would expect that that's a non-starter of a design for you.
