For those who want to brave the world of Reddit... there is an AMA (Ask Me Anything) happening today (Nov 15th) on Reddit with the founder of MORRFlate (Tyler).

There is also a group buy attached to the AMA for up to 30% off. Initially I was only going to buy just an air hose kit, but now I'm thinking about an air compressor too. Anyone have any experience with the air compressors he sells?? They seem a little on the bulky side, but they also look very similar to the old blue air Maxi Trac compressors that NAPA sells (or use to sell) that everyone raves about.

I have the 4 tire inflation deflation hose kit and it works great. Recorded a video on that part and was going to add the air up with the new compressor.

I've talked to someone in the off road community about compressors, portable verse on vehicle. He said he doesn't feel compressors with one mounted in the engine bay. Heat isn't good for those and the one of the hottest parts of the Bronco is in the engine bay. Maybe mount it in the cargo area. I should do a video on this subject. Interview the community at an event, a poll.

Thanks for the information on MORRflate.

Hey Tim. Just my two cents on this. I’ve installed the ARB under the hood , and ran the filler hose to the rear. It’s very convenient, never need to open the hood. Since the hoses are in the back, hook up and deflate and inflate easily. As for the compressor under the hood and heat exposure, although more expensive, the ARB is extremely reliable and can withstand what ever you put it through.
If you think about it, their are many computers, relays, sensitive electronic, mounted under the hood of the Bronco that can withstand the heat.. I like the option to not have one more thing bouncing around in the back. As that saying goes, buy once, cry once. I’m a big believer in getting quality items, and not replacing over and over. I’m very happy with this setup, and use it about every 2 weeks.

That is good to know. Mounted does sound easy when needing to use. I went with the portable so I can also use it with other vehicles like my Maverick Tremor. I can throw it in there if I takes the truck instead of the Bronco or easy to help others without moving the Bronco. A lot of options and price levels. Thank you.

That was my thinking when I chose the portable. I can throw it in the truck and use it for the Travel Trailer or any one of the other trailers. And packing it in a HF case works great. I even used it on my sons Camaro with run flats those things always need air. And I don’t alway have to have the Bronco to use it. But I do need to open the hood each time I use it and I can not have hood struts so it’s a PITA but I am going to add a deans connector for my next mod.

Dear me! That's 22.5 minutes of my life I'll never get back. 😉 I understand the swag bags given out at the Golden Globes were worth (seriously!) $500,000! You think they put Ford Performance winch hooks in them?
Joking aside, you asked about permanent installs for a compressor. I got the ThorsLightning "Refuge," which attaches to the three bolts that secure the bottom of the rear hardtop. Since I have the TRMX PakRax, which also utilizes that, I don't think my rear roof section is ever coming off. My installer ran the 500A cable from the battery (a circuit breaker was provided), along the top of the firewall, dropped it behind the right front wheel well, under the cabin ziptied to the chassis, and brought it up just rear of the right rear door.
Anyway, if you go with a NAPA-based 300cfm compressor, it's an install option to consider. If we meet up on a run or something, I'll show you. What if we organized a run for the Old Florida Road in North Adams?

The more I get into Bronco mods, the more I'm thinking about abandoning the idea of a removable top. So much I want to do, but a lot of it would prevent me from removing my hard top. So I feel like I need to commit either way.

Watched the video. I think Buck Your Bronco makes accessories for the Picatany rail.

So many mods, all that additional weight, plus wind resistance. I am resigned that I can remove only my forward and center roof panels, the rear is as good as welded on (TRMX, PakRax, ThorsLightning.) A good 300cfm compressor, plus hoses and repair gear can just as easily go in a good Harbor Freight carry case. Lifting the hood and clamping onto the battery posts adds 45 seconds to your post-trail procedure, if that.
