It's a sensor that located inside the tire (usually on the valve stem or wheel). You have a few options:

  • If you're keeping the wheels and just replacing the tires, you don't need to worry about anything.
  • If you are replacing both, you can have the shop dismount the old tires to get the TPMS out, but then you'll either have unmounted tires and bare rims or you'll probably need to pay to have them remounted sans TPMS.
  • If you're replacing both, you can just buy new TPMS (usually like $50 a pop). You could also shop around for some on craigslist/Facebook Marketplace to get them cheaper, and have the shop install them when mounting your tires on their new wheels.
If you buy a tire and wheel package from tire rack the sensors and receiver is $108

I have an app called obdjscan for my jk. It has a Bluetooth obd plug . I can change tire size, gear ratios. Even stuff like keeping fog lights on with high beams. And shutoff tpms when aired down. And a host of other things. I’m sure the eggheads will have something for the pony soon. A cheap alternative to a programer.
I had the same thing for my 2018 JKU...It was great to be able to change things the way I wanted. One was, daytime driving lights.

So stumbled upon this video of the MT today. Not the most encouraging of reviews. It is a different size than we will see on the Bronco but still. Does anyone have a definitive spec on the 35" MT going on the Sasquatch package? What are the load and speed ratings? And did it make the 3 peak winter rating? If someone answered this or posted a picture I can't find it. Thanks in advance!

Saw that a while back and for him being a GY dealer it doesn't sound very good at all. Like he said, hopefully they are a surprise

Glad I am not the only disappointed Sasquatch buyer for the tires included on this package. KO2's are offered on other models & would be my choice.

Same here, until they wear out. Then more likely than not, Coopers...
Love my 35” Cooper STT…they’re actually quieter on the highway than in the neighborhood lol.

I'd say that's really my only true complaint with the WT/SAS. Id like the MOLLE on the WT seats but that's nothing big really

Stuck with the Badlands OEM cast wheels and BFG AT's, the wheels have grown on me a little but might change them to RTR Tech 6 wheels with a 30mm positive offset just to stick them out a little beyond the OEM 55mm positive offset. These wheels are offered in either Matte Black or Charcoal Gray in 0, 25 or 30mm offsets, the finish would be a difficult decision with a Cactus Gray vehicle with a MIC top. These wheels are by far my favorite I've seen for Ranger's and Bronco's!

General Grabber ATX. I run them on my 4Runner and absolutely love those tires. They come stock on the Black Diamond as well, so, I'll stick with stock if I go with a Black Diamond! *laughs*

If I rock the Squatch, then I'll see about swapping out the stock GY 35s for the Grabber ATX.

not to derail the thread and perhaps there is a better place for this question but...

do you think the Bronco will have a built in adjustment for those who change tire OS diam to compensate for the speedo? Like an option built into the computer interface to input your actual tire size.
Idk, but “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.” Hope that answers your question. :)

Anyone know if I can put beefier tires on the stock OBX wheels? Not a big fan of the stock rims but was going to powder coat them all black to make them look a little slicker and was hoping I could fit larger / thicker tires on the same rims. Not sure if I can do that or if I need to upgrade all my rims at the same time? Thoughts?

I will know after my first beach drive in the dry deep hot weather sand. I’m sure the stock AT’s will be fine if I air them down enough. We will see.

Wear out Base tires then go 32" and keep the stronger steel rims. Much better off road. Tires any bigger have weak side walls. Bigger is not better, they just make you feel better. And you can say mine is bigger than yours.

All of their tires are 10 ply. Airlines use tires made this way also.

Step 1 / Inspection
Step 1 / Inspection
The first step in our "Remold" process is to inspect our premium recycled casings. The NDT Machine (non-destructive-testing) uses an electrical current to verify the integrity of the steel belts before any tire is moved into the production process.

Step 2 / Buffing
Step 2 / Buffing
The next step is to remove all of the old tread and side wall rubber from the casing, called “buffing”. The premium casing and belt package isn’t altered from its original state, but simply buffed to the correct texture and measurements to be remolded.

Step 3 / Applying New Rubber
Step 3 / Applying New Rubber
The next step is to apply new mold cure rubber to the buffed casing. The Orbitread machine applies layers of industrial grade rubber compound (higher wear characteristics) to the crown and shoulder of each casing. The sidewalls are given a new layer of sidewall veneer, which brings the entire tire back to a new condition (common in Warden, Guard Dog and Claw brands). All TW tires are balanced with a Corgi Balancer prior to remolding.

Step 4 / Mold Press
Step 4 / Mold Press
The next step in our manufacturing process is to cure the tire. Each rebuilt casing is individually placed in its corresponding mold/press (size and model) and cured for approximately 60 minutes. The tire is now remanufactured back to a completely new condition. Our presses and molds use the same mold curing process that is standard in all new tire manufacturing plants.

Step 5 - Final Inspection / Final Balancing
Step 5 - Final Inspection / Final Balancing
The final step is to 100% inspect your new TreadWright tire. We trim all of the excess rubber called "flash" and visually inspective all lugs and branded sidewalls. Tires are then given a second NDT (Non-Distructive Testing) and balance inspection to ensure the integrity and balance specifications of the tire were not changed or altered during the remolding process. We balance all of our tires before shipping to ensure your complete satisfaction!

From other posts, it sounds like you need a lift to add any bigger tires on a non SAS OB if you actually plan to go off-road. I'll likely either find more aggressive tires that fit without a lift or switch my reservation to a BL, because the stock OB tires are terrible.
