What’s y’all’s tire plans? Sticking with stock or looking to do something different?

I’ll end up getting fuel tires and different rims shortly after getting mine.

Non SAS Badlands here with upgraded 17" gloss wheels. Thinking about switching the tires for Nitto M/T Grapplers LT295/70R17 E 121/118P.

I think this is a good meet in the middle in regards to height and width. Not a fan of the 35's or width of the fender flairs on the SAS. Hopefully someone with a 2021 will toss some 34's on and see how it looks :)

Notice the Load Range E. A lot more than needed. Will ride kind of rough.

I was looking at that myself. Would you say a C rating is better? I plan on running approx. 120lbs on the roof.

They are load range C

ETA: sorry, thought you were talking stock 35" tires. Didn't realize you were responding about the Nitto.

Load Range C is standard. Should handle an extra 120lbs. of payload. Just stay under the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Otherwise expect to need to upgrade suspension as well as tires.

I'm going with pizza cutters myself. Probably 255/80-17 Falken Wildpeak AT3s.
Thinking the same. Either 235s or 255s. Gotta get a look in person to see if 235s look TOO skinny.

Stick with the squatch tires and wheels until tires wear and then rethink

So I'm not familiar with the tire pressure sensor device. If I switch to another set or tires and rims I assume I need 5 sensors as well? Is there a place that shows the process?

I'll be switching to Nitto Trail Grapplers since I don't care for the look of the stock Wrangler MT's on the Wildtrak.

not to derail the thread and perhaps there is a better place for this question but...

do you think the Bronco will have a built in adjustment for those who change tire OS diam to compensate for the speedo? Like an option built into the computer interface to input your actual tire size.
Depending on how Ford does their sensor you should be able to move them to the new set of rims with little issues. Most are valve stem sensors but there are also rim strapped versions. Either way it should convert to the new rims no problem via your tire shop.

Thanks, I'll be rotating tires so I guess I'll wait to see which style the bronco uses then get some for the new set.

My thoughts as well. 255/85/16 on a base .Same width with a 33 “ tall tire.
What will I screw up? Shifting and speedometer. Can things be reprogrammed

I finally broke down (or more accurately blew a sidewall) and got some new 31s for Mando.

I cheaped out and bought Dextero all-terrains from Walmart. They look a lot better than the 235/75R15s I had on it before.

It's a sensor that located inside the tire (usually on the valve stem or wheel). You have a few options:

  • If you're keeping the wheels and just replacing the tires, you don't need to worry about anything.
  • If you are replacing both, you can have the shop dismount the old tires to get the TPMS out, but then you'll either have unmounted tires and bare rims or you'll probably need to pay to have them remounted sans TPMS.
  • If you're replacing both, you can just buy new TPMS (usually like $50 a pop). You could also shop around for some on craigslist/Facebook Marketplace to get them cheaper, and have the shop install them when mounting your tires on their new wheels.

I was looking at swapping to the General grappler x3's. Any opinions? I like the ko2's heard good things about the x3's. I put yoko geolanders in 37" on my f-250 and really like them.

Yoko’s are a great tire!

I've had the best luck with Mastercraft Coursers. guaranteed for 50k and I've gone 60k now on my F150 and they've still got life in them! Not 100% sure on size for my Bronco though. Gonna run at least 33's maybe 35's if they'll clear on a Base Model.

I have an app called obdjscan for my jk. It has a Bluetooth obd plug . I can change tire size, gear ratios. Even stuff like keeping fog lights on with high beams. And shutoff tpms when aired down. And a host of other things. I’m sure the eggheads will have something for the pony soon. A cheap alternative to a programer.
