Gotta just go for it

Jun 29, 2022

Now that I finally got my build week I am getting more excited to start looking for mods and accessories. What did you guys find to be the more important first mods? My build is the OBX, leather, high, SAS. I'm thinking I really want/need the mud flaps so I don't destroy the paint so early.

The windshield is a good one, I have heard they are easier to crack since they are more vertical. And I definitely want the ceramic coating. Luckily I was surprised with an unexpected bonus so Iโ€™m going to gladly use that to start getting some things.

For protecting the windshield, I bought one of these kits: https://www.grab-gard.com/products/ford-bronco-windshield-protection-kit
- seatback covers from amazon.com - DIY windshield film from grab-gard.com - grab handles from bartact

Have you installed this yet? If so how's the visibility and is it inconspicuous ? Is this a film or a hard plastic? I am terrible at applying film protectors on cell phones but a pro with the plexiglass.

I've had it on for a few months now. Its a film, not a hard plastic. Its like a phone screen protector, but thicker and less flimsy I guess? I just followed the install instructions video on their website, it wasn't bad. I'd definitely do it in the garage, and I'd definitely bring out like a table or something to stage something on. I also asked my wife to help hand me things and help hold the film. It turned out pretty good, better than I expected.

I picked up my Badlands June 7th after 22.5 months of waiting. Here's what I've got so far:

Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro pocket fog light kit (here)
Built Right Industries front license plate
Built Right Industries stubby antenna
Bartract Uh-Oh handles
5.11 Molle pouches for first aid and survival kit for the back of driver seat
5.11 drop bag for a road-trip trash bag, mounted to back of passenger seat (particularly proud of this idea)
Boulder Tools tire deflator kit

Waiting to see what I actually NEED before I spend anymore. Probably next ones are the JCR Off-Road table, JCR Off-Road Rear Windows Molle panels, and the Trailrax roof rack. I have a little kid so space actually fills up pretty fast.
Looks good, already have my trailrax roof rack on order. And the plate holder and antenna and ropes.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. I'd probably have my wife help too. She's good at keeping me (mostly) out of trouble and being the brains of the operation.
