Bimini Top Recs

I ordered the mesh one from Ford Website to take advantage of the 20% off.
Fairly easy to install - would recommend taking all the panels and back hatch off for install

Mine has been on for two weeks now & no issues. I check the straps every so often and haven't seen any loosening.

I will say it has been a game changer here in TX with it on. With the temps upwards of 100F+, I am still able to keep the top off with out seats being scorching hot.

Haven't reinstalled MIC yet over it, so not can't comment on how I will like that.

Go JTop, $ is a bit more but we’ll worth the $$. Have not put top up since installed. Great product.

What’s the difference between canvas vs mesh? Is it worth the extra $$ for the canvas?

I'm looking for a way to use a flag to cover my top (with hardtop off). I have a 2dr, and just thought it'd be a good alternative for summer. Not a fan of the 2dr softtop that's available. I'd like one that goes all the way down like the 4dr top.

Do JTop owners ever remove their tops? They seem like they are semi permanent.

The canvas is solid (complete coverage) and little bit heavier material.
The mesh is well mesh, with about 70% total coverage and blockage, light weight material.

I did not want 100% coverage, so I went Mesh.

Canvas is just that...full canvas..no light gets in. Mess, is like a window screen. It shades the seating area.

I bought the Ford canvass Bestop and it didnt do what I wanted. I wanted a top I could leave on, and if it rains, offers lots of protection to me and the dash. The bimini tops fit inside the roll cage, so if it rains, there are gaps taht "could" let rain in. I just bought the bestop trektop, and I can pull the windows and still have the front cockpit area protected in rain.

I also have the ford mesh top, but havent installed it yet. May not at this point.

The hardtop is hanging off the ceiling in the shop....may not put it back on either. The Bestop is pretty dang nice.

If we are talking about the Bestop Bimini, no..there is no frame. It is a piece of material, with some clips and lanyards that attach at certain places, and 1 bow (at least for the 2 dr) that goes from left-to-right pretty well above the driver seat backs. My kit was short 2 bolts, but I was able to install the bow bracket by moving the bolts around (this is the bracket for the roof panel turn buckles).
Even my Trektop was short these bolts too. The OEM bracket here has a place for 3 bolts, but Ford only installed 2 on mine. Bestop uses all 3 in some fashion on their installs.

Are the straps rubbing the paint off?

I have not noticed any wear or rubbing on the paint.
I will check it out later this evening a little closer & report back.

I would go with j tops it is amazing quality and it fits nice and tight no flaping in the breeze

polluted mind today...........browsed the thread as I was curious by what I thought was talk of mesh bikini tops. Oh well.....o_O

For those of you who have already purchased and now love your Bimini top, can you recommend the one you got?

Get the Ford Bimini Top! There are 3 zippers and they make a huge difference with air flow for front and rear passengers.

Checked all the straps last night for potential rubbing - none found...

Little suprised honestly, as I have not been impressed with the paint quality or thickness on the Bronco.

But for the Bimini top, no scratches or rubbing found. (2 weeks in, driving in all conditions (in town, highway, off road)

Yes.
Although, I have not put my MIC back on yet. Will need to soon, as I have a long road trip coming up.
