Side Moldings Trim Miss-match

I purchased several genuine Ford exterior accessories including these side moldings (door moldings). While all other accessories like the hood deflector & bumper protectors match the texture and shade of the factory black trim - THE DOOR MOLDINGS DO NOT! The moldings are deep black (almost glossy despite saying their matte), while the rest of the trim and accessories are of a lighter black, the texture of the moldings is completely smooth while the moldings and other matching exterior accessories are ruff to the touch with a visible texture to them. The moldings look aftermarket as if they don't belong to this model. Has anyone successfully removed the side moldings without damaging the paint? If so.....how?

I'm not 100% but I believe they're stick-on
unfortuntately ,they are not stick-ons...the hood protector and some others are but the side moldings come with a permanent glue that was used

Wow…. So there are actually people who bought those!

Even from the stock photos on Ford’s Accessories site, I thought they looked a bit odd.

hehe yes I did. now in my defense....where I live people park like loonies and the moldings do prevent dings from reckless people slamming their doors into yours. But yeah for $329 purchase price and $300 installation fee.....I expected them to well....look like they belong on that car versus something I picked up at Autozone for $20 and superglued myself to the car. I am heading to the dealer on Wednesday to investigate whether they can be removed without causing paint damage.

If they can’t be easily removed perhaps have them painted to match the body color so they blend in with the vehicle instead of looking like a poorly executed afterthought.

I don’t blame you…. Honestly, if I didn’t find the pics to be a little off, I may have considered them.
