Very late evening to everyone, “well maybe not for the West Coast,” but you know what I mean.
For those of you who have bought a Bronco after 2023, you probably have heard that you can not use FORScan to eliminate the auto start/stop feature, “trust me I have tried.”
I have tried all the ways that has shown up on a couple of sites, but to no avail.
What I did:
I ended up buying this particular auto start/stop eliminator harness, a couple of the others that I have read, people say you either have to tear apart parts on your Bronco, or you end up having trouble with something else on the Bronco.
Several people have even complained about window problems that they have had after installing one of the other brands.
I can tell you this, it took me approximately 45 seconds to put the harness in, and it is working “Great.”
Here is the link to Amazon’s harness that they sell…
I plan on posting a feedback to them on how well it has worked and how easy it was to install…..
They have 11 reviews and they all are 5 ⭐️
https://a.co/d/06p11ob2

The harness for the installation goes where your left foot is while your driving, up on the fire wall, underneath the corner near the dash.
When you look at the box from in front of your seat, practically laying on the floorboard, there are two harnesses one the left, which is closer to the door and one on the right, which is closer to the engine, you unhook the one closest to the door or the one to the left.
Then in about 45 seconds or a minute you will be done.
If you think we’re the driver side door is it’s practically in front of that underneath the foot Well, up on the same wall….

One last note, the default on the harness is always for Auto start Stop to be off…

Good job finding a fix that works for you…

Been driving Fords with auto start stop for close to 10 years and admittedly don;t even notice it anymore…

Looks like he's stuck on his unicorn.
He didn't think he would use most of the features.

I don't think a dually turns tighter. I know it takes 4 lanes.

The F450 turns tighter because of the wider front axle. F250 and F350 do not.
Gas?...he may regret that........

Good Saturday Morning, Kids!
A little cooler today in Western Washington (high of -30°) today but we have significant winds coming from the west which will increase the fire danger in eastern Washington and Oregon today to an extreme level. Sonya and I discussed this over the winter as we had so little precipitation and we were concerned about the incredible fire season coming, and now appears to be arriving… I cannot remember a time when such a large area was under an “Extreme” fire danger level…

Was looking at everything I could find on the Filson Bronco this week as I contemplate putting some money down on one to get on the list… Ford is offering 0% for 36 months on ‘26 Broncos, which means my payment for a new Filson (all other things being equal, with minimal down) would only be $2,000 a month for three years… that’s a little sobering… The Filson is beautiful, and Sonya is already talking about “his and hers broncos” but I’m not sure how much I would take “a luxury bronco” into the wild… but I do love that green color, and the seats and interior look is pretty awesome… Anyway, will let y’all know if I put $1000 down to get on the list…

Have great day, all! Stay safe!

I didn't know you were considering the Filson Edition Bronco, @Bluestreak57! It's gorgeous. I love the new green, but I'm especially smitten over the Copper Sands Metallic. It's stunning. Either way, it would be an amazing vehicle to own. As for me, as I've said before, the Filson is the only four door Bronco I would ever consider getting. It's that cool! 😎

Wildfires are always a concern for us in the PNW. They make for incredible sunsets but that's about all they're good for. Whether they originate from human negligence or lightening strikes, their unpredictability make them all the more distressing. Forestry experts will say that they're how forests renew themselves, but the human cost cannot be discounted. Apart from the actual fire hazard, there's a serious degradation in air quality that is inescapable. That thick, smoky air is hard to breathe, limiting recreational activity for literally everyone in the region.

On the Homefront, I wanted to personally express my appreciation and admiration for you and Sonya for serving as caregivers. It's a noble enterprise, and I can appreciate it on a personal level after seeing what my siblings went through with my parents during several health crises. You're both wonderful people. 😍

Lucky he's picking up a relatively light 5th wheel. 11,000 pounds.
He did a lot of research so we'll see how he did. The tow numbers support his choice.

Not what you or I would get.

Howdy from sunny Arizona. And it's been very sunny and around 17 degrees. The pool is 8 below. And it feels cool.
I hate hearing of all the fires up there. Our neighbors that @Bluestreak57 met, have one burning close to their home in Oregon.

Good Sunday Morning, Kids!
Eastern Washington had a number of significant wildfires flare up yesterday, which then were whipped by winds and caused an incredible amount of damage. If you have friends or family in North Spokane, it might be good to check on them, as at least 600 structures have been lost, and the fire continues to advance… This is on top of numerous other fires across Eastern Washington. The pictures and videos are sobering and heartbreaking.

Western Washington woke up to some needed rain this morning, though it wasn’t enough to allay the fire danger here. A cooler day in store here today and then temps will warm into the 80’s next week once again. I realize this is almost cool by @Lots O Fords standards, but for Western Washington its pretty warm…

Stay safe, friends, and Hug the Ones you Love!

Sorry for being away. It's a short season in the Northeast for motorcycling, so I have been out on the bike as much as I can. Especially, since I am burning time to retire from this Godforsaken profession! But, here is a great video for Bronconation.

Good Monday Morning, Kids!
It’s hard to believe we are now into AUGUST! Once you retire and start getting old, it is crazy how fast time moves along. Jump in with both feet because Father Time waits for no man (or woman)…

Eastern Washington and Oregon continue to burn, with something like 600-700 structures lost in the Spokane Complex Fire over the weekend (many, MANY homes). Even with a lot of warning, Mother Nature once again reminded us that she will do things exactly as she pleases. And on the other side of the country, rain and flooding is making life interesting for many, while those in the middle may be dry but will continue HOT… (-5° is hot, @Lots O Fords !).

I’m hopefully in the final throes of some back and hip inflammation that has had me hobbling for three weeks. Otherwise, it looks like a quiet week here on the left coast, with some house rearranging on tap to better accommodate Dan (my son) and give him a little bit of his own space.

Hoping everyone is well. This morning’s coffee is fresh ground Kirkland Colombian, and it’s STRONG!
Enjoy!

Why do so many videos (of all sorts!) use that horrid guitar background riff? It's atrocious! Is it supposed to be macho or excitement-inducing or something?
