I read through this, and I don't get it. First, what "warning lights" went on? It almost sound like they stalled it somehow or something. Next, it sounds like it had brake failure. If the drivers foot was, indeed, on the brake, and it took off on them. But I'm back to the initial stall and warning lights. I wonder what the guides "reset"? I don't know, I think we aren't getting the whole story here.

Never do get the whole story. The line,”they push these cars beyond what they can do”, is categorically incorrect. I find, at least with myself, that it is either a vehicle malfunction, my malfunction, or a little bit of both. Mostly my malfunction.

But the ones that we really care about are the acronyms like we have come to love.

BOHICA _ Bend Over Here It Comes Again!

FUBAR - F'ed Up Beyond All Recognition

SNAFU - Some Negligent Army F Up

TARFU - Things Are Really F'd Up.

I use them pretty much every day, as well as the term Cluster F***!

I thought SNAFU was Situation Normal, All F'd Up.

Learned a new one.

But good grab Zach!

Yeah, saw that line too and had the same thoughts. My opinion with their incomplete story is that they were in over their heads with the Bronco technology.

I hate to say it, I'm thinking that they made a mistake (like hitting the gas instead of the brake) but are looking to see if they can sue. Once they got called out, they pulled down the post. I hope I'm wrong about that.

I decided to go on this trail ride today because I so much want to see how my Bronco, and my skills with it, do on these fun little ledges that you can play on.
I did this trail in August. It was a night run for the full moon. So we didn't play on them because it was dark.
Then we get rain today. And I didn't play on them. I'm going to Moab next Wednesday. The ledges will always be there. But, Thanksgiving in Moab is only once a year.
I stopped in a little rocky area, after a struggle getting over a tricky ledge (aim for the tree and goose it, with front locker on, then turn right away to not go down the hill just pass the tree, no worries). Got a message that 4×4 system has been disabled. Couldn't get out. Turned it off and turned it back on and all was fine and I had no issues.
I also didn't air down. The other guys said they would wait for me to air down if I changed my mind later. Now the trail leader is saying his article (for our club newsletter) will be long because I didn't air down and was getting through the mud, ruts and puddles as well as them.
My prayer before I start a trail ride "please dear lord, don't let me be a dumbass".
Had an absolute blast.
Now to see if I can get some mud off, getting oil change tomorrow.

Ive seen many posting now that "Karen" is going to all the groups and saying that the Off-Rodeos are very dangerous and should be canceled but also that her story is changing too. SMDH By the look of the truck seems the Bronco handled the driver errors very well and all walked away safe. Bronco did as it was designed and her "head didnt get crushed" (her words)

her story I guess has been changing now. But I'd say most issues result from operator errors. I dont recall any off-road related issues being reported that would be "dangerous"

Yea, agree "warnings came on and stalled" very vague and then "reset" like what turned the truck back on?
Very much LOTS missing to this story

Agreed. Sounds like a software glitch where they just turned the truck off, opened and closed the driver door to shutdown the main systems, then restarted and everything was OK. Basically rebooting the truck's systems. I'd love to hear the whole story.

I lost my brother a month ago to fucking cancer. We were very close. He came out to New Mexico a year ago and spent a month with me exploring the desert and mountains and flying our drones out there, and he loved it. Today his wife sent me a pendant with his ashes inside. So now he will be going on rides with me from now on...

Did you turn off the locker after you goosed it and before you turned? i remember being told to immediately turn off the front locker after an obstacle and before turning.

What tires are you running? I’m still using the Goodyear tires that came on mine and they were fine going through mud a foot deep in the desert recently.

I would imagine on loose material like we had on last week's obstacle or trail for that matter. There's enough slippage to avoid damage
