Good afternoon! I've had an action packed week. I was recently in Georgia visiting and injured my big toe there and it got infected. Was given antibiotics there that seemed to clear it up. Then it came back over the weekend and didn't look good so Monday morning I went to the ER. Looks like the infection got into the tip of my toe bone and was admitted. I have a PICC in my arm getting a daily megadose of antibiotics for the next six weeks. First bummer is I can't get my treatment early enough to go on club rides. Second bummer is if the infection returns after treatment, they chop the end of my toe off! And if that happens, I just have to remember to keep putting my good foot forward...LOL

Sorry to hear this Glenn! Infections like that are no fun. Jeff had to have his replacement removed before they got rid of his infection.
And if you are having to go to Infectious Desease behind Lovelace Hospital each week to get weighed, blood samples and week supply of antibiotics, that is no fun!
Prayers the 1st round of antibiotics gets it gone for you.

@Astronaut, we look after each other here with what words of encouragement we can offer. Stay faithful with your regimen, stay comfortable, and expects the best. Get a 2nd opinion if things don't improve, but be realistic. Modern medicine has come a long way. We're with ya!

Good advice to get a 2nd opinion. But he's in Albuquerque and not Boston. 10 years ago you only had the choice of 2 for infectious disease and one you had to apply to them for treatment. There was a 3rd option, 70 miles away. And one or the other would be out of network on your insurance. Antibiotics for a week was $1,400 10 years ago. And had to be refrigerated. So you had to be devoted to these weekly appointments and getting all that shit back home and refrigerated. We had this going for 18 months.

Good morning all! Happy Sunday!
I had fun yesterday. But it about whipped me. Getting 3 5 gallon water jugs filed and loaded in the Bronco was a workout. And then dragging them back out to dump out all the water was also another workout. And short, but extreme hikes to get to where the signs go gave me a workout for my legs. 2 places, it was enough trying to get the pickup with the signs, poles and cement down to the site that many of us parked and walked.
Just enough wheeling in-between signs to make it a fun day in 4H and manual, no lockers needed.
So many memories from this area! F CANCER!

I’m going daily to Pres Infectious Desease on Harper. I’m here right now on day 3.

Good Morning! It’s a beautiful morning in ABQ. I restored the black plastic on my Ram pickup yesterday. After I’m done getting my antibiotics this morning, I’m going to grab some breakfast and go for a drive out to Cabezon Peak to fly my drone. I’ll post some photos later. Hope y’all have a great day!

So there is a guy in our club that has some mad drone skills. His group and my group joined up yesterday to install the last of our signs.
